Good Monday morning, my friends!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend and were able to relax and spend time with family and friends.
On Friday night, it was quite chilly in Ocala, so Ryan and I went over to our friends Eric and Amanda’s house and spent a cozy night by the fire!
Eric and Amanda have a screened-in porch with a place for a fire, so after we gave the fire a chance to build some heat while we ate dinner inside, Amanda and I grabbed some blankets joined the boys by the fire for the rest of the night. It was still pretty cold, but it was fun to be outside and feel the warmth of the fire.
The rest of our weekend was fairly uneventful, which was exactly what we wanted! I will be traveling to Park City, Utah later this week (I can’t wait!!!), so a relaxing weekend at home perfectly suited me! Plus, I had a lot of projects to work on because my sister’s bachelorette party and bridal shower are quickly approaching!
I managed to design, print and assemble her bridal shower invitations on Saturday and they will be placed in the mail today!
(I apologize for the intentionally fuzzy picture – Just trying to block out certain information for safety’s sake.)
My favorite part of the invitation was the mini envelope tucked inside of the invite that I stamped with an adorable stamp I found at Hobby Lobby.
All because two people fell in love.
I tucked a little card inside the envelope that requested a recipe from each one of the bridal shower invitees (a recipe card was also included for them to use) so Leslie and Ross will hopefully have a great collection of tried and true recipes to choose from when they’re in the mood to play around in the kitchen.
My mom and I are working hard to make Leslie’s bridal shower special. Leslie and my mom did such a wonderful job on my bridal shower and I want to make Leslie’s shower incredible, too! If you guys have any advice or ideas for me, please let me know!
Workout + Breakfast
Today’s workout focused on strength training my biceps and triceps. Once Ryan and I were done at the gym, we headed home for breakfast.
For lunch on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend I made myself an almond butter and jelly sandwich and that’s all I wanted for breakfast again this morning.
So basic. So good!
Served with a clementine on the side for a pop of sweet citrus!
Hope you have a great Monday!
Question of the Morning
- Do you have any advice for me regarding my sister’s bridal shower? I’d love to hear any suggestions you may have!

Coming to Park City?! That’s bigger news than Kim and Kanye being here last week haha. We’ve had warmer than normal weather lately (in the 30’s 😉 ). Have an awesome trip while you’re here!!

Zach and I also got the recipe book and LOVED it! It’s so thoughtful. And something so basic but so neat: a picture montage playing of the couple. Brings back so many good memories:)

I love the recipe idea! And the invitations look great – thank you for the Pic Monkey Tip! I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I need cards!

PB&Js are a weakness!! Also PB&B (banana) make a great breakfast/snack. 🙂
My sister and I are currently planning our middle sister’s bachelorette and bridal shower and we’ve found that small touches go a long way. For example, one of our nights is Harry Potter themed because she’s a total HP nerd!

This is my first time posting but I’ve been a blob follower for over a year now! Nothing gets me more excited than hearing about people traveling to Utah. I LOVE Park City and just got back from a week vacation there. If you’re lucky you may be able to see some Olympic trials and teams practicing up at the Olympic Park right in the middle of town (no cost). Amazing experience! Bangkok Thai is the best thai restaurant on Main Street, and well, any resort you go to will be a treat if you ski or snowboard. Check out the Tanger outlets for some shopping- they have everything from Oakley to J. Crew. Can’t wait to read about your trip!

Park City is one of my favorite places. Have fun! Are you Skiing? We love Deer Valley; I call it the Disney World of skiing; everyone is so nice, helpful and friendly. Have their famous turkey chili, yum. I think I might have to make some.

PB & J? That takes me back to childhood (only it was JIF and Mom’s raspberry jam).
You’re not pregnant, are you? 😉 I’m only kidding since you mentioned eating it twice and having decaf the other day. Not looking to start any rumors. Have a happy Monday!

Cute invitations!! Remember to jot down who gave what gift, and take lots of pictures!! For my shower, they had set up by the front door a little table with all of my thank you notes and each guest would address an envelope so I wouldn’t have to dig for their address after the fact!

Almond butter and orange marmalade are REALLY good together.

Welcome to Utah (in a few days)! I would recommend High West in Park City. They have delicious small plates and meals. Not to mention, they are the only ski-in ski-out whiskey distillery in the nation! I love their mixed drinks – so yummy! My husband and I take all of our visitors there. This time of year, they are really busy so you may have to wait or go mid-afternoon. Have fun!

One advise I would give: is to make sure you have someone taking pictures. My Sister and Sister-in-law threw my Bridal Shower, and I only got two pictures out of the whole event. I was very sad, that no know thought to take more pictures. My MOH even had her daughter take pictures of me opening up my gifts and they were just not worth printing. Those moments, now only live in my mind. 🙁 #totalfail

What cute invitations! And I love the “all because two people fell in love” stamp — you’re making me want to get crafty! 🙂

PB&J. Nothing better.

Ok, this might sound silly but… We did a few “low-key” games at my shower (like a famous couples game/word scramble/etc.)… nothing too ridiculous. My sister-in-law had personalized pencils printed for guests to use that said “Erica’s Shower” with the date… it seems so silly and small, but I love little touches like that!

Have you ever heard of a cake pull? I just read about it in a book called “There’s cake in my future”. Different charms are placed inside a cake with a ribbon hanging out and each guest pulls a ribbon to reveal a charm. The charms symbolizes their future. So a baby carriage resembles a baby in their future. It sounds like a great way to have some fun and good laughs while having each guest participate.

Those bridal shower invitations are way cute!

Each person who attended my shower brought a swatch of fabric and secretly gave it to my mom or sister. At my wedding just after we cut the cake my sister (MOH) presented my husband and I a beautiful hand sewn quilt from all the swatches of fabric. It means so much to me and we use it while we snuggle and watch movies in the livingroom. Definitely a gift I will always cherish.

One of best things I’ve seen at a shower is ditching the typical, multiple little gifts for winning the shower games. The bridesmaids, and the mothers of the bride and groom each did up a different themed basket. Each basket’s theme was based on something the bride liked (cooking, chocolate, things like that). Each guest was given about six tickets to write their name on, then put in to win one of the baskets. As people one the games, they got more tickets to use. It got pretty much everyone involved, and it was a lot of fun seeing everyone get into it. 🙂
