I’m thinking we should start today off with a little cuteness.
Hands down the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in Orlando!
While on my morning walk with Sadie, I called Ryan to tell him about this woman’s t-shirt I saw that said “Sheboygan.” (Long story – Any Wisconsin readers out there?) Anyway, I practically hung up on him to snap this picture with my phone when I saw the two babies hitchin’ a ride on Mama Swan.
Of course I immediately texted the picture to my mom, sister and Ryan.
My mom’s reply? “Are you in Europe?”
Remember those swans?
Fetch me a saddle, I wanna ride one!
Workout
Sadie and I walked around the lake and saw the swans after my morning workout. I began my workout with 25 minutes on the treadmill (15 min. incline walking, 10 min. run) before deciding that was enough cardio for the day. I just wasn’t feeling the whole cardio thang, so I headed upstairs and into a 6 a.m. yoga class.
I haven’t taken a yoga class in the longest time and I felt like even more of an amateur than I usually do. If someone would like to send me some hamstrings that actually stretch, I would be much obliged.
Breakfast
After yoga and a walk with Sadie, I was more than ready for breakfast.
Breakfast came together quickly thanks to some prep work last night.
Uber chocolaty overnight oats!
I think I added a bit too much almond milk to the mix because the overnight oats were a little too liquidy at first. Once I stirred in some frozen banana slices and a scoop of peanut butter, the mixture thickened up a bit and was much more appetizing.
Okay, so it still looks like dung, but it was delicious.
And check this out:
The Keurig, brewin’ like a champ!
I’m loving this machine so far and can’t wait to buy a bunch of flavored coffee pods. I’ve been working my way through the sampler pack that came with the coffee maker and am anxious to get some new flavors to try. Ryan and I also heard that it can make hot chocolate! Who knew?
Time to get crackin’ on today’s to-do list. I have a meeting scheduled with a friend who owns a t-shirt company to discuss those PBF t-shirts I mentioned many moons ago. Should be a fun one!
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
Oh my gosh that is freaking adorable. Such a cute way to start the day 🙂
Lee @ in the pink of condition says
Aww I love a little cuteness to start off the day! I can’t wait for the PBF shirts!
Liz @ Blog is the New black says
That IS super cute! I recommend the Timothy’s Caramal something or other coffee, and the Green Mountain caramel one is good too. There’s a french toast one which is amazing, too, I think GM makes it! 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
oh french toast!?!? sign me UP.
Jamie says
Those swans are so cute! Such a pretty picture. I haven’t been to yoga in over a month and I’m sure I’d feel the same way! I’m never in the mood for it but once I go I’m always glad I did.
Ally@GirlVFood says
Cutest. Picture. Ever. I wish I lived in an area where a swan/cygnet sighting was possible! All we get around here are turkeys and fauns. Fauns are adorable, but CYGNETS! Oh, and we get baby wolves…which are cute, but you might want to stay far away from them. NEver know when the Momma is gonna come out!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
wolves!? i bet sadie would look mighty tasty to them. well, maybe not. she is a walking bag of bones.
Rachel @ The Perseverance Diaries says
aww I love a little cuteness to brighten my day! those lil’ babies are cuties!
Victoria (District Chocoholic) says
I spent the first 15 years of my life in Wisconsin. And my godfather is from Sheboygan. I’m not even kidding.
There is a fake story that it is called Sheboygan because some woman there gave birth to her fifth son, and the doctor said “She Boy Again.”
Oh, we’re so funny in Wisconsin. It’s the brats, cheese, and frozen custard that make us funny. Wait, no, that just makes us fat.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
hahhaha i love wisconsin. 🙂 we used to go camping there when i was little. i’m assuming you’ve tried “squeaky cheese?” i always thought that stuff was so cool.
Victoria (District Chocoholic) says
CHEESE CURDS. YES. Trader Joes carries them but they aren’t warm so it’s just wrong.
There is a store – Brennan’s – about 2 miles from my grandmother’s house that has five cheese cases. FIVE. And they are NOT small. Heaven.
Oh, and we used to call your type FIPs (F* Illinois People) when you came up to use our campgrounds. Just FYI.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
FIPs – thaaaaat’s us! 🙂 i must say, i’m not surprised at that nickname. when we were camping one year, we heard this couple next to our campsite arguing and i’ve never heard so many cursewords said in a row one sentence in my life. it’s a running joke in my family now and we repeat the words in the same order whenever someone is pissing us off. 🙂
Hannah says
One of my friends is from Wiconsin..
Cheese curds sound gross but are amazing!!…
And it is veryyy squeaky!! Yummy.
I make her send me some every time she goes home!
very cute picture and the oats look yummy.
I just ran out of oats.. guess i should restock though i have been in a smoothie type of mood lately
i am impressed with you staying with your morning workouts even though you don’t have to!
Laura @ prettylittlewords says
Ohhhhhhh my gosh, I LOVE Brennan’s. When I lived in Madison (5 years, woop woop!), I was right across the street from one of their locations and went ALL the time. My love for the store may or may not be strengthened by the fact that it’s my last name… 😀
Mac says
Nothing better than warm squeaky cheese curds… the one thing that keeps me in the state 😉
Lindsay says
My first job in high school was at the Brennan’s on University Ave. Oh good times! I grew up in Madison, WI – great place!! I now live in Kansas City, MO but will always call Madison home. If you get the chance be sure to try Brennan’s seven year old aged white cheddar, the chin drippin’ peaches, and of course the farmer’s market downtown on the square!
Perfect morning for a yoga! Here’s a 21 day Yoga Challenge to check out, the teachers in this are great! ..http://21daychallenge.yogajournal.com/
Jodi says
The oats look chocolatey-delicious! I was wondering (about your morning smoothies) which protein powder you use? I’ve been thinking about getting some, but some of them seem so “fake”.
Jealous of the Keurig!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
i’ve been using optimum nutrition’s all the whey brand protein powder. it’s what ryan orders for himself from bodybuilding.com and it’s actually really tasty! i like the casein one b/c it’s thicker.
Hope says
Aw! That is such a cute picture! 🙂 I love my Keurig! It’s the best machine ever! You should try the Island Coconut k-cups. They are so good! 🙂
Good luck with the t-shirt meeting!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
YUM. i love ANYTHING coconut. thanks for the suggestion.
Gen says
Awesome coffee machine!!! 😀
I loove swans…so pretty!
Marissa says
If I had seen those swans I think I probably would have DIED from cuteness! Ah, adorable! What a good dog Sadie is; mine would have tried to eat the poor things before I could so much as think to whip out my camera. Oh, I hate it when overnight oats are all liquidy and gross! I don’t make them anymore because of that, haha.
Amber K says
They definitely don’t have to be liquidy! I make mine with Greek yogurt and they are thick and chewy. Ahh perfection.
Maribeth says
holy crap! those swans are more than half your size! they must be injected with some growth hormone/steroid.. You’re so brave to have stood so close next to them. They could have taken you and flew away. Next thing you know, you would have ridden the swan like the babies were in the first photo.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
aren’t they huge!? they really were swans on steroids. notice how no one else in my family would join me in that picture? pansies.
Mary Babicki says
Keurig is the best thing ever, however if you want hot chocolate it is more cost effective to buy the swiss miss packets and just use the hot water out of the brewer.
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, and Beers says
That is precious! They don’t look like ugly ducklings to me! By the way, I once tried something like Gloria Jean’s pumpkin flavored coffee in a Keurig, and it was awesome. I haven’t been able to find it for a year or two, so I hope they still make it!
Julie says
I am from SHEBOYGAN! Haha, I get teased all the time for the name, especially how we say it with a long ‘a’…too funny! This made my morning 🙂
Lauren says
MN/WI reader here! 🙂 love me some Sheboygan!
jen @ taste life says
Those swans are so darn cute!!
I’d send you some stretchy hamstrings, but mine are as tight as they come!
Sherri says
Those swans are adorable! I’m jealous you got to see that in person.
The Keurig is the best thing I ever. Hot chocolate is good but don’t buy the Green Mountain kind..it wasn’t chocolately enough and tasted a little watered down. Cafe Escapes makes a good one and I think they have a dark chocolate one that’s really good.
Molly says
HAHA I’m from Wisconsin 🙂 I love when people not from the area try to say Wisconsin city names. What’s even worse is that someone from WI is sporting a shirt with their city name on it… we’re an embarassment to society!
Molly says
Wooo I’m from Wisconsin, too. We’re a good bunch of people…just happen to drink a little more than the average person… 😉
Laura @ prettylittlewords says
any of you ladies fellow Badgers? 🙂
Molly says
I actually attend UW-Milwaukee. I wish I could call myself a badger!
Angie says
I’m a Badger! Graduated in 2005!
Molly says
NO! Even worse… I’m currently a Minnesota Gopher 🙂
Sherri says
Are you going to make PBF tanks too? That’s so exciting! Can’t wait to get one 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
i think tanks are in the plan! i personally prefer tanks to t-shirts b/c i get too sweaty! 🙂
Sherri says
MEEEE too!
Katie says
AWWW. I think I need a PBF shirt… I may or may not grab a finger EVERY time I pass the PB jar! Those swans are just adorable, we see baby deer all the time when we ride the horses or are out running, but I have never seen anything as cute as those swans!
samantha @ fresh n fit says
hahha cute swans! i’ll never be able to shake the whole idea of black swan every time i see one though!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
PBF t-shirts sound fun! And those swans…. ENORMOUS!! I remember thinking the same thing about the pigeons that we have near my house in Scotland (I don’t live there right now – my parents use it as a rental property).. they’re huge (and kind of freaky too!)
ellalinea says
Those little swans are soooooo cute.. :))
But the European swans are kinda creepy.. i guess I better watch my back ;);)
Yeeey for PBF shirts! We can start a lil fanclub haha 🙂
Becki says
PBF t-shirts?! Sign me up! Please ship to the UK!
Angie says
Another Sconnie reader here! Love it that you gave our state a little shout-out (even if it was regarding a woman wearing a shirt with a funny name like Sheboygan).
Brittany says
What time do you wake up in the morning to work out? I have to leave my house by 7am and I tried to get up at 5 this morning to go run but it still looked dark outside and my body was just NOT feeling it. 🙁 Mehhh.
Molly says
PBF shirts, what about some workout ones too? The sweat-wicking material ones? Those would be awesomeness.
Heather H. says
So excited for PBF t-shirts! Hope your meeting goes great!
Elizabeth @ the good life says
Too cute!
Tiffany says
First of all, those swans are adorable!! Secondly, I’m from Wisconsin, and I actually have college friends from Sheboygan, small world!!
Andrea says
We have the same Keurig as you. It DOES make hot chocolate – different kinds – milk, dark, white.
You can also get the pods for tea, but I haven’t tried them as I prefer loose leaf tea.
Janel says
On Wisconsin!
Taryn says
Yeah WI! REPRESENT!!!!
Suzanne says
OOOOH the Keurig is my favorite wedding present so far! We bought some vanilla biscotti and kahlua flavored coffee pods from Target and are obsessed! It’s so easy! I think you need specific hot chocolate pods for hot chocolate, but I could be wrong. I know you can get reusable pods if you want to use your own coffee, so you could maybe make hot chocolate that way?
Steph says
I recommend getting K-cups from shoffee.com, they have the best prices if you order over 60, which is the qualifier for free shipping. The other option, if you want to get a box of 50 of some flavor is Amazon.com. We love our Keurig, we have had it for 1.5 years.
Holly (Faith, Food, Fitness) says
I’m a Wisconsinite! 😉 Represent!
Those swans are beyond cute!!!!
I haven’t done yoga in forever either, but I should really change that!
Holly says
You can get tea & apple cider for your Keurig too 😉
Oh, and just an FYI, you can order any K-cups @ Bed Bath & Beyond online & the shipping is FREE!! 😀
& I CANNOT wait to see the shirts! Sign me up!
Andrea @ Onion in My Hair says
The TOMS look so cute on you…and so fug on me! 😉
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
TOMS are fug on everyone. 🙂
Lisa@Healthy Diaries says
Cutest thing everr!! We have the Keurig and the hot chocolate isn’t all the best…. Too watery! Give it a try though!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
That is too darn cute!
Jordan P @ food, sweat, and beers says
In the winter time, I used to take the Keurig cups of hot chocolate, then add just a little bit of Peppermint Mocha Coffee-Mate creamer… it’s like all the best flavors of Christmas in one delicious warm cup!
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Good luck with the shirt stuff!
That picture is so adorable!!!
Sarah says
We buy our k cups at coffeegiant.com and it’s the best deal I’ve found…and I know you like good deals like myself! Free shipping and your 6th box is free and they have every flavor…and they come very fast.
Julie Nicole says
Ohh my gosh I about died when I saw the babies! But then I saw Sheboygan! My sister JUST moved out to Orlando from Sheboygan Wisconsin!
Jenn says
Lived in Sheboygan the last three years. Met some great people, but can’t imagine ever going back. Nothing to do, 2 months of summer…if that. Very happy to be in Orlando now!
Holly @ Pink Runner says
The Keurig is great! The hot chocolate was too dairy-based and hurt my stomach. I actually love the Folger’s “Black Silk” the best! Put a little Almond Breeze in there… and yum!
Running With Mascara says
Those swans are adorable! I had no idea the babies got that kind of treatment! I keep meaning to try those chocolate-y overnight oats! They look delicious!
Mac says
Sheboygan! How random that you should see a shirt that says that, weird. On Wisconsin 🙂
Sara says
Green Mountain Blueberry Cobbler is amaaaazing! So is their pumpkin spice one in the fall. So good!
Amy says
ahh keurig..i love it! we got it for a wedding and i use it everyday!!
