Another new month is upon us! Happy August!
I consider August the last month of summer, so I want to make sure August is a memorable, fun month. I know I don’t technically go back to school in September, but it seems like people fall into a more serious work mode in the fall and go on less vacations. There’s something special about the summer, so I hope to enjoy this final month!
July was a bit of a rollercoaster month when it comes to my emotions. Some amazing events, some stressful situations, but in the end it was definitely a month to remember!
- I attended my first blogger conference
- Ryan accepted a new job and I announced our plans to move to Ocala
- We officially moved out of our apartment in Orlando

And that brings us to TODAY!
Breakfast
Since we’re back to living the temporary housing life, you know what that means…
Hotel breakfasts!
I made myself an egg sandwich using scrambled eggs with cheese, ham and sausage.
I went back for seconds of the eggs (they were so cheesy!) and also ate the top of a muffin as I was waiting for my English muffin to toast.
Not a bad morning meal!
Question of the Morning
- What are you most looking forward to in August?
I am triple crossing my fingers that we find a place to rent and move into a new home in August. I can’t wait to start getting settled in Ocala and officially have a place to call “home.” I am also really looking forward to attending the Healthy Living Summit at the end of the month.
august is a big month! i start my first ‘big girl’ job TODAY, finally get weekends off (so many options!) and am planning on making my little blog even cooler than it already is!
hope you find a place! its nice to finally feel settled somewhere.. my first month in SF i was living on the left half of my friends bedroom!
Running the Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll Half! :))) I noticed that you ran it last summer! Any tips for this race?
I’m sending good vibes your way for the housing situation! This month, I’m looking forward to my birthday, milking what’s left of summer – BBQs and nice weather especially! – and shaking up my fitness routine. Have a great day Julie!
Wow, another month! It went by so fast.
I’m looking forward to the beach with my parents in 2 weeks and a few trips for work that will hopefully be fun. I can’t believe it’s already August, summer is so precious when the freezing cold takes up half the year!
Heck, I am not living the temporary housing life, and I regularly eat the homemade eggmcmuffin… like i did today 🙂
I’m looking forward to moving! I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in temporary housing while you look for a place to live, and I understand your pain–my fiance and I have spent the last four months looking for an apartment. We finally found one, so we’re moving from our studio to a two-bedroom next week! I know you guys will find a great space, too. 🙂
I’m also looking forward to moving ahead with wedding planning! I just bought my dress yesterday (gasp!) and I can’t wait to continue imagining our wonderful day!
August is a BIG month for us!! First it’s our camping weekend with my dad’s family!! Fun had by all!! Then my daughter’s 12th birthday!!! And we end the month with the Rutabaga Festival!!! We’ve gone EVERY year since I was probably 12!!
I’m looking forward to my birthday (on Wednesday), and a 3 day weekend getaway at a bed and breakfast in a seaside town to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!! And hopefully, a 36 hour/week position will be posted on my unit and I can work 1 day less per week and make lots more money by rotating to overnight shifts every 2 weeks…fingers crossed!
That was such a big month for you! This month I am looking forward to my dads birthday, MY BIRTHDAY (turning 18!!), and my semester of being an official full time college student starts a week after my birthday. I’m so excited!!!!!! 😀
Love that first picture of you in the bridesmaid dress! Such a pretty, vibrant color!!
Awh HLS! I’m so jealous of all of you that are going. It’s going to be so much fun I bet!
I’m looking forward to my first 10k run on August 27th =D
Me, I am looking forward to a hiking trip. School supply shopping, and school clothes shopping. Not to mention tons of beachy days and trail runs.
You’ve had quite the busy month!
In August, I will go back to work (teaching) and we will start going to the high school football games every Friday night (I coach the cheerleaders). It will be a busy month, but I’m still hoping for some pool time on weekends and maybe a quick day at the lake or river!
It’s looks like you had an awesome month despite some of the downs! I hope August is just as good!
I have SOO many increidble things to look forward to this month. I’m getting RPM cert this weekend, my anniversary, our trip to Napa, the HLS and hopefully, another trip to NYC. It’s crazy but all so wonderful.
Looks like you had a fun and busy July. I’m sure a home is eagerly awaiting you this month in Ocala! I am most looking forward to a less eventful month! June and July were packed with all sorts of events and trips, so I am looking forward to having more BBQs with friends and getting some stuff finished in our backyard. Happy August to you!
I adore the color of those bridesmaid dresses. I seriously ADORE royal. It just looks so nice on so many people!
This month I get to attend my best friends wedding after party, she got married in Mexico last month and is having another party at home for everyone that couldn’t make it to celebrate with us in Mexico. Yay for wearing my bridesmaid dress again!!
I also am running my first race (www.spartanrace.com, looks so FUN!), and take possession of my very first condo! I wrote my last rent cheque today!
Great re-cap post! I’m going to do one tonight!
The thing I’m most looking forward to in August is going to Scotland! I leave August 30, so most of my vacation is in September, but I am already getting super excited!
My WEDDING in 5 days!!! Woohoo!
how frustrating… I reeeeeeeally hope you can find a place soon. update us on how the hunt is going?
I can’t wait to meet you at HLS in a few weeks!!
i can’t wait!!
August is certainly the last solid month of summer, sigh! I’m looking forward to finishing up my internship, being home for a week, going camping, and having a real vacation in Mexico! Wahoo!
I’m excited to go to Minneapolis for my sister’s bachelorette party and at the end of the month… her wedding:)
I’m looking forward to a wedding and bridal shower! teeheeee.
I’m looking forward to a mini-vacation near the end of August (only a night away but it’s better than nothing)!
I’m looking forward to being done with my grad school classes and having 3 weeks to relax and vacation!
I’m hoping that these next few weeks in August go super slow! I’m a teacher and we go back at the end of the month!
BTW…you are so disciplined to just get eggs and an English muffin for your hotel bfast! Every time we’re at a hotel, all I want for breakfast are those ginormous Belgian waffles *sigh*
Yes I feel a bit like that because usually September sounds like the end of summer and the beginning of school, so I’ll just try to relax and enjoy my vacation with my family^^
I consider August the last month of Summer too. I just want to make it GREAT! That is what I am looking forward to and am determined to do!
I am looking forward to starting my final semester of nursing school and getting to see my manfriend on the 26th! 🙂 I hope the next 25 days fly!
I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my summer days before school starts again. Also to participate in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5k this month.
I can’t wait for HLS, either!!!
But first i’m super excited to hand in this damn epidemiology final and be done with this class FOREVER!!
August holds a lot of changes for my husband and I. We will be heading back to Alaska and to work; we are teachers there. I will also be starting my first semester of grad school. A lot of changes, but exciting ones!
Catching up on your posts, so this comment is a bit late hehe!
With the beginning of August came the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan for Muslims. Its a month where we will be fasting from dawn until dusk (18hours here in the UK), and reflecting upon our lives..making changes, praying (a LOT).
Its actually the month when the Quran was first revealed. Its dubbed ‘the Month of Mercy’.
To sum it up – Its a wonderful month and we LOVE it. 🙂
I really hope your housing situation sorts itself out soon! 🙂
I am both looking forward to and really scared about moving across the country for college. I’ve never lived anywher but Cali before, and I certainly have no idea what I’m in for.
