Today I’m spending a random Monday in Jacksonville because I will be leaving for San Francisco tomorrow and figured it made more sense to stay at my parents’ place since they live right by the airport. Staying here saves me a four-hour roundtrip to and from Ocala and I get to spend quality time with family. I’d say that makes staying in Jax a no brainer.
Plus, Ryan and Sadie are here! They came into town on Friday night because Ryan joined my dad on a scuba diving trip on Saturday, so the gang is all here!
I slept in until after 7 a.m. which felt amazing. I grabbed a quick breakfast of cottage cheese, steel cut oats, crumbled graham crackers, almonds and fresh blueberries.
It was a random combination but it kept me satisfied through my workout!
After breakfast, Ryan and I drove to the gym and I headed into my beloved BodyPump class while Ryan did his own thing in the weight room.
I took it lighter on the weights today since I am still a little sore from the hilly races I ran on Saturday.
Once BodyPump was over, Ryan and I hit up Sippers Coffeehouse where I ordered a latte to fuel me through a little bit of shopping at Nordstrom Rack.
A shopping cart with a cup holder!?
I needed a few cooler weather things for my San Francisco trip since I didn’t pack any jackets or warmer things when I left Ocala last Wednesday. (Fail.)
After our quick shopping trip, Ryan was hungry. I wasn’t ready for lunch just yet, but Ryan wanted a burger, so we made a pit stop at MShack so he could grab something before we headed back to my parents’ place. Ryan ordered a burger for lunch and I ordered a side of sweet potato tater tots to snack on since I wasn’t hungry enough for a full meal.
Oh my gosh, they were ridiculously delicious. I’m not too crazy about regular tater tots, but sweet potato tater tots are a different story. YES.
Thirty minutes or so after we made it back to my parents’ place, my appetite kicked in and I fixed myself a chicken and hummus sandwich for lunch and served it with a side of baby carrots and a sliced apple.
After lunch and a conference call, Ryan and I decided to take advantage of this weird limbo period between our time in Florida and our move to Charlotte and spent an hour at the beach.
The ocean temperature was perfect and we spent nearly all of our time body surfing and riding the waves. It was a blast!!!
I hope you guys are having a great Monday!
Have so much fun in San Francisco! And ooh I love Nordstrom Rack. I wish I had one near me!
What a fun day! The beach looks so beautiful and your food pictures always leave me hungry. I am so excited for you to make the big move 🙂 I bet there are going to be so many fun and amazing adventures in store for you! 🙂
And here I was thinking I was all cool because I went to the pool. 😉
Happy Monday! Sounds like a great way to spend the day! I can’t wait to visit my parents in Vancouver in August so I can get in some quality time at the beach!
Sweet potato tator tots?? Holy cow those look amazing. I need those in my life! 😉
Sounds like a wonderful Monday. I am not a regular tater tot fan either but sweet potato tater tots are delicious!
The shopping cart cup holders at Target are the best thing ever! I’ve never seen them anywhere else but I’m glad to see other places have them too!
Enjoy your beach time in FL while you can! I miss being so close to the beach!
San Francisco is one of my favorite cities! Hope you have an amazing time!
SO jealous that the water is warm in FL! We went to the beach on lake ontario this weekend and the water was FREEZING. I put a toe in and promptly ran back to my towel to warm up, hah!
I can’t even fathom being able to go to the beach all the time! Do you think you’ll really miss it when you guys move to NC?
Yes!!!!
Okay, so I understand that you are adding suspense to the blog by not posting about your race, but I want a recap so badly! Though the beach is a nice diversion 🙂 Your brilliant (evil) plan is working, because I keep checking back for a running update!
My husband and I just signed up for a 4th of July 5k. It is around a beautiful local lake, and I am so excited! I am glad you get to spend some extra time with your family before the big move!
Ha! Sorry!! That wasn’t my intent– just wanted to recap the race when I have a chance to sit down and sort through the pics to properly document! Coming soon!!
I totally understand! The pictures are the most fun part, but they take so long to organize and upload! I gotcha!
I spent my Monday at the beach as well. We’re going into winter down under, so it wasn’t warm enough to get into the water.
The beaches are probably the number one thing I miss since moving from Florida. JAX beach is great! Good idea to relax and spend time with the fam before the move.
Sounds like you had a great day! Enjoy and safe travels!
I love your cross necklace! Is it Stella & Dot?
Nope! Got it hautelook! 🙂
w-w-wwait a minute. What are you doing over here in my neck of the woods?! I’m about 40 mins south of San Francisco!
What are you coming to San Francisco for? Let me know if you need any recommendations, this is my city!
I was in Jax this weekend and went to MShak for the first time too….LOVED the truffle fries and the Count Shak-U-La beer! Worth every bite 🙂
I miss the beach so much! I’m jealous!
Looks like a great Monday! I want to see what you ended up buying : )
Those sweet potato tater tots looks delish! I hope you have lots of time to go to the beach before your move!
Those sweet potato tater tots sound amazing!
Those sweet potato tots look soooo good! Perfect summertime side dish! Nordstrom Rack is my favorite next to TJ Maax that is.
I’m so jealous of your beach day! The weather in Michigan has been beautiful, and I went for a run yesterday by Grand Haven’s pier on Lake Michigan during my lunch hour. I was shocked at how many people were out on the boardwalk enjoying a day of leisure … as I was running back to my office. HA!
I love your sunglasses in the last pic of you and Ryan. Where are they from?
I just got them from Nordstrom Rack! The brand is Kenneth Cole.
Thank you! They’re super cute!
That’s a fun day at the beach allright. And sweet potato tots rock! Have a safe trip.
I don’t like regular tater tots either but when I first had sweet potato ones in ocean city they were AMAZING! Now I’m craving them…
Hope you’re having an awesome time here in San Francisco! I’ve lived here for almost a whole year and LOVE it!
