I think Adele has one of the most gorgeous and timeless voices I’ve heard in a long time, so I must beg the local radio stations in Ocala to stop incessantly overplaying her music.
I want to love her music and her voice for a long time to come, not get so sick of her songs that I immediately flip to a different radio station after the first word.
Three different Adele songs played on the radio within an hour this morning… one on the way to the gym, one at the gym and one on the way home from the gym.
Sometimes I wonder if the artists themselves wish that radio stations wouldn’t play their music on repeat or if they love it because more radio plays means more exposure and more album sales?
I know this is a random thought, but do you guys ever think about the people who used to date the singers behind tremendously successful songs? I wonder how they feel when they have to hear their ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend’s songs blasted over and over. I’d imagine that would get really old really quickly. I’d probably be a CDs-only-in-the-car kind of girl if I dated Bruno Mars or Adam Levine from Maroon 5. (Oooh baby!)
Workout
Today’s workout began with 20 minutes on the elliptical before hopping off to complete a leg workout that had my legs shakin’!
I finished my workout with five minutes of abdominal exercises, topping it off with a one-minute plank. It has been a while since I’ve done planks because my elbow was still rather bruised from December’s bike accident and it hurt to put pressure on it for quite some time. It finally feels a-okay!
Breakfast
Today’s breakfast was extra cheesy!
I made a plate of scrambled eggs with three eggs and milk, shredded cheese and goat cheese stirred into the eggs.
The goat cheese added an extra punch of creamy, savory flavor that I absolutely loved.
Time to get crackin’ on my to-do list!
Joelle (On a Pink Typewriter) says
That’s an interesting question haha the only ex gf I’ve heard mentioned was the one that Hey Deliah song was about.
Workout question: did you ever do more cardio vs strength in your workouts? Have you seen differences in your body by focusing on strength training instead? As a weight lifting newbie, I’m curious!
Josie @ happycorredora.com says
Yum! Nice brekkie. I must get into planking… I’ve heard its great for your core.
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I love Adele too, although here they play her so so so much on the radio that sometimes the songs get a little repetitive. Still, if I were a male who had been going out with her at some point in the past, I’d be kicking myself today!
Cheryl @ eatplayluvblog says
I LOVE Adele! But agreed that she is a bit overplayed. I think it’s cuz she is on the Top 40, easy listening, pop, club stations alike!
I have been using this remix in my spin classes every week for a few months without fail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p3sM3FE_u0
Hope you enjoy!

Glad to hear your elbow is better. I don’t listen to the radio for the reason you mentioned above. I love listening to Pandora radio though. I have a request. You may have received this request before but would you consider posting images of your exercises? I’m familiar with most but not all. Not sure what a One-leg split squat with exercise ball would look like. Well if I did it I’m sure I would end up in a split and let’s just say it won’t be pretty. Plus I’m too lazy to google or you tube the exercise move and it would help me stay here on your blog. Just a thought.
peanutbutterfingers says
love the suggestion! i usually try to post a link or picture of the image of a new exercise that pops up on the blog the first time i post about it, but try not to do this every time b/c i think it might get a little redundant for regular readers. for the exercise you mentioned, i touched on it in this post: https://www.pbfingers.com/2011/08/02/house-call/ by linking to a demo on my friend carissa’s blog. i hope this helps! i’ll definitely try to include more info/images a little more regularly though as i think many people would benefit.
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I hate when they overplay songs on the radio. It makes me start to dislike songs that I onced loved.
Adele’s ex might not be too happy to hear her on the radio, but I bet she’s happy that he’s her ex and the basis for all those songs that made her famous!
We actually do the cool down song to Adele in BodyPump.
Olivia says
I’m PRETTY sure they don’t mind, since they get paid when they get played on the radio! Royalties!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
i absolutely agree with you! it totally ruins it when they overplay a great song. it drives me nuts!
goat cheese in eggs sound amazing by the way… i need to try that!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
i love adele… but you’re right, she is getting totally overplayed. makes me sad!
those eggs look luscious 🙂
Faith @ For the Health of It says
I’m surprised that I like Adele because her music really isn’t my normal “type”, but I actually enjoy it whenever I hear her on the radio. She has some powerful pipes!
Heidi @ Idlehide says
I always want to try the one legged split squat but I’m scared to completely lose my balance:/
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
Happy Monday! Breakfast looks fab 🙂
Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups says
I love goat cheese on my eggs! It makes them so creamy and tart.
Kelly says
I am the complete opposite…I want to hear the songs I love on repeat all day long!! I love it when radio stations overplay the good songs!
Nicole says
I have satellite radio in my car and can I please put Gavin DeGraw in the same category. I am so TIRED of hearing him every 20 minutes.

Amber @ Busy, Bold, Blessed says
And now I have Rumor Has It playing over and over in my head! Haha. I totally feel you on loving her but getting sick of hearing her on repeat on the radio. One of the reasons I love the classic rock stations, you don’t hear the same 10 songs ever hour (like all the pop stations).
Cheesy eggs are THE BEST. I am a cheese addict. Admitting my problem is the first step, right?
HRCK the Herald says
REALLY not trying to spam, but I just reposted an article about Adele on my blog regarding her stake in a “Diva Competition”– if you have any interest, check it out here:
http://hrcktheherald.wordpress.com/2012/01/23/the-premiere-prima-donnas/
A segment from the post: “As much as the Committee loves “Someone Like You” (sources report that the Committee listens to the song somewhere between 3 and 12 times a day), there’s little chance it will ever breach the Iconic Song zone. Adele might have outsold Whitney’s The Bodyguardalbum, but in ten years, no fat Taiwanese kid is going to set the Internet on fire with his note-for-note cover of ‘Rolling in the Deep.’” Ha!
Victoria (District Chocoholic) says
I’m not sure how musical artists approach radio play of their songs – they do, of course, get royalties when their music is played, but I don’t know how that income compares to that from album/downloaded song sales.
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
I am also a huge Adele fan! Love love love love LOVE her!!
But, my friend told me over the weekend that she is having trouble with her throat and has to get surgery!! I’m so afraid for her!
Jana @ Newly Wife Healthy Life says
I agree! I hate when I love a song, but it is so overplayed I end up being annoyed by it! Regarding ex boyfriends/girlfriends of singers, I always think about Carrie Underwood’s song, “Before he Cheats”. Whoever she dated and cheated on her, I am sure regrets it now and cringes everytime he hears that song!!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
Agreed on the song thing!!! BOO to overplaying!
Love that leg workout!
Lena @ Fit on the Rocks says
I thought that was so ridiculous! Well…good riddance. Look who has the last laugh now.
Meg pinkgiggles says
I heard adele’s ex tried to sue her to get some money from her album sales. He said if he never dumped her, she wouldn’t have been able to write those songs. Unbelievable, right?
Morganshines says
Ugh I hate radio overkill!!!!
Rebecca @ Naturally Healthy and Gorgeous says
Anything with goat cheese=excellent!
Mindy @ Clueless Nutrition says
Those eggs look delicious! I’m a huge Adele fan, but apparently she is not a fan of America! Her American tour and a concert were both cancelled 🙁
Janine @ThePurpleGiraffe says
I really like Adele – and even though she’s somewhat overplayed on the radio right now, I enjoy it, because her voice is fabulous!
It’s a cold day in NH today, I’ll be planking, working, heading to the podiatrist to find out what’s wrong with my foot, and then with any luck, running this afternoon if he gives me the okay!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
Ooo goat cheese in your eggs? It never occurred to me to do anything other than shredded cheddar or mozzarella! And I can imagine that would be horribly obnoxious to hear a song about you by your ex constantly blasting on the radio.
Anna says
That is SO funny that you say that about the people who used to date singers with famous songs, because I actually used to date someone who made it pretty far on a recent American Idol season and now every time I see updates online with his new videos/performances/songs, etc. it feels a little weird. And actually, he recently covered Adele’s “Someone Like You” and my sister and I can NOT stop thinking that it is somewhat directed towards me. Haha! I am probably just full of myself. Either way, he is so, so talented, we are on good terms, and I still love hearing his music.
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Funny you say that because I roomed with a girl in college for a few weeks who had dated one of the singers from 112. Remember them? Cupid? And she said she seriously couldn’t listen to any songs by them because it would drive her crazy.
Cindy says
I feel the exact same way about Adele! She has an amazing voice and I really want to like her but my gosh the radio stations need to realize she has more than a few songs. Doesn’t she have like three albums to choose from?! Radio is horrible in Chicago and it seems the few stations we have to choose from all have the same playlist. There is a good chance I could change the station three to four times and ALL the stations will either have on Adele or LMFAO.
Okay …. Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system… 😉
Khushboo says
I have a terrible habit of ruining a song myself: when o like something, it plays on repeat on my iPod!
Elisabeth says
I LOVE Adam Levine 😀
Kerry @ Totes My Oats says
I hate when radio stations over play songs I love – makes me not want to listen. This is why I listen to satellite radio and my ipod mostly in the car! Goat cheese in eggs – yummy!
Rachel says
I think about that, and I also think about how the exes of actors must feel, I mean actors’ faces are plastered on trailers and print ads and the internet, and everyone talks about them. I think that’d be kind of rough!
But to be a singer’s ex would probably be harder.. I’d probably worry that their angry songs were about me, or worse–their sad ‘I used to love you’ songs!
Maureen says
I think about dating Adam Levine all the time, but his singing is usually never involved in those thoughts! LOL
I absolutely hate when radio stations overplay an artist!
Brittany *Sparkles* says
The jelly bagels look like googly eyes!! Love it.
I feel the SAME about music over played on the radio 🙁 ::sigh:: that’s why I usually go through phases with which station I listen to the most.. it is also confusing when they say ‘NEW SONG from ___” and you’ve had that CD for a year now… it’s just new to ‘radio’.
Bee Goes Bananas says
Mmm, this scrambled eggs look yummy! I’ve never even considered making scrambled eggs while I’m recovering from my wisdom teeth being removed. A possible lunch idea? I think so!
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
I love that Alanis Morrisette’s 1st album was apparently all about Uncle Joey from “full house”
can you imagine?
Ty says
I just heard recently that Adele’s ex-boyfriend took her to court and tried to get money out of her because he said every song on her album was ‘inspired’ by him.
Judge threw the case out.
Duh.
But that would be hard to deal with.
Racheal @ Running with Racheal says
Adele is the only singer that I can’t get enough of. The radio stations in KC also play her all the time…but never enough in my book. I am constantly seeking through the stations trying to find her songs. I just suck it up and buy a CD. 🙂
Emily says
Good luck on getting through your to-do list today!
Rachel @ The Peach and The Pit says
I hear you on the Adele thing! I always used to think the same thing about Alanis Morrissette’s You Outta Know. Ouch!
Antonia @ healthinspirations says
Your breakfast looks amazing. I love scrambled eggs, but I can’t get them to look that fluffy. What’s the secret?
Katie says
Her voice is definitely gorgeous but I want to hurt someone when her songs come on the radio. I might be at the point of being annoyed with her. 🙂 But she is absolutely beautiful and I wish I could sing half as good as her!
Amy says
nice workout! 3 minutes of squats..yikes. im trying this today!
natalie @ southern fit foodie says
Mmm goat cheese – love it in anything!
I think what would be worse than hearing an ex’s song on the radio would be hearing and thinking “oh my gosh – is that one about ME?!” haha
Jordan@almondjay says
Adele, planks and eggs sounds like a perfect monday to me 🙂
Emilie @ Emilie's Enjoyables says
goat cheese on my eggs is my new favorite thing as well!
sana says
Where do you get your bagels from??
Angela @ Health, Happiness & Harmony says
Love the idea of goat cheese in eggs! I’ve done it in an omelet, but never stirred in. 🙂
