This morning I am writin’ like lightnin’.
I have an early appointment at the dermatologist and am sitting here with sopping wet hair that still needs some attention, so let’s get to it!
Workout
My day began with 30 minutes of cardio split between the treadmill and the elliptical. I didn’t do any crazy-fast running or inclines, but my face still ended up red and sweaty after my time on the treadmill. Even slow jogging on the treadmill makes my face sweat like crazy!
After some cardio, it was time for a 30-minute TRX class. Last week’s class was canceled because of the Fourth of July, so I was anxious to get back into it today!
We did three different circuits consisting of two exercises each that we performed for 30 seconds for a total of three rounds.
- Circuit One: Squat jumps with TRX + Lunges on Bosu ball
- Circuit Two: Push ups with TRX + Running on and off Bosu ball
- Circuit Three: Reverse flyes with TRX + Crunches on Bosu ball
During the class a bunch of us talked about the TV show American Ninja Warrior in between circuits.
Have you guys seen this show? It’s based on the Tokyo Broadcast System show Sasuke, and people try to complete a ridiculously hard obstacle course to win $500,000. It’s Ryan’s dream to be on it.
I, personally, would rather be on Nickelodeon’s Guts.
Oh how I long for a piece of the Aggro Crag.
Breakfast
Breakfast this morning was a delicious egg bagelwich topped with cheese and raspberry jelly.
Plus a spoonful of almond butter while the bagel was toasting.
Easy to eat while blogging.
See ya this afternoon!
Question of the Morning
- If you could be on any game show, what game show would you want to be on?
Khushboo Thadani says
The nerd in me wants to say Weakest Link or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire…love Trivia but most of the time, it ends up being me guessing and hoping for the best haha
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
I remember the show Guts! I wanted to be on Legends of the Hidden Temple! That looked like such a fun show! Nickelodeon used to have some of the best game shows on. I wish they would bring them back 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
yessss! blue barracudas = the jam.
Annie@ What's Annie Making? says
I loved Guts! And then it was Global Guts which was even more exciting. I always thought it would be fun to be on Double Dare too!!!
Michelle@PeachyPalate says
I need to bake myself more bagels, wish I could buy spelt ones, I’d have em every day of the week! Still haven’t tried using the TRX area in the gym. They don’t have classes, it’s on my to do list this weekend to get some instruction!
Hayley says
Ahh my friends and I used to go to trivia night at a bar every Wednesday, and for Halloween if you dressed up you got bonus points, so we went as.. GUTS! We had the different colored legit shirts, a mike o malley and a mo…complete with a piece of the aggrocrag that we made 🙂
We won that night too
Tayler says
Ryan should try out for American Ninja Warrior next year! I personally have always wanted to be on Wheel of Fortune!
Nathan Miller says
Guts was a good one but that Legends of Hidden Temple was just as good. But I always wanted to be on Family Feud back in the day of the late Richard Dawson…dude was a womanizer
Carrie @ Fitness and Frozen Grapes says
As a kid, I always wanted to be on “Figure It Out,” but I couldn’t invent or do something cool enough!
Amber @ Busy, Bold, Blessed says
Just saw that on tv the other day, apparently they’re doing new ones! The kid on the episode I watched was a professional breakdancer who danced on skates, crazy!
Erin @ erinberries says

Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I used to watch Guts all the time. I used to want to be on Double Dare so bad!
Now, I think I’d do pretty well at Wheel of Fortune.
Danielle Z says
Not gonna lie, I always hated Guts for some reason! I always wanted to be on Legends of the Hidden Temple, but my ultimate dream was to be on Double Dare..only with a different family than my own. :/
Adult shows, THE PRICE IS RIGHT! My grandma and I used to tear through those games and mock the clueless adults about their igorance of the price of groceries.
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
I always wanted to be on Guts too, or Legends of the Hidden Temple – those goons could never put the monkey together!
Joelle (on a pink typewriter) says
OMG – GUTS! Haha i used to love that show, and Legend of the Hidden Temple. Amazing flashback – that just made my day!
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
Nickelodeon Guts! Now there’s a blast from the past! I’d love to be on Wheel of Fortune – I grew up watching it with my parents every night.
Samantha says
I always wanted to be on What Would You Do?. Another Mark Summers show! For some reason, I loved the part at the end where they picked something out of a wall full of little doors. Does anyone else remember that show?? I also loved Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS.
I grew up about two hours away from Orlando, which I heard was where a lot of the shows were taped. I ALWAYS wanted to go over there, but my parents never took me!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
i loved what would you do!
Kelly B. says
My hubby was actually on (and won!) Guts 20 years ago. We have a price of the crag on display in our office 🙂

Sarah @Blonde Bostonian says
I loved Guts!!! In college, our broomball team was called “Team Aggro Crag”. We had T shirts with glittered crag pieces on the front. Gotta love ’90’s television!!
Melissa @ runscootsrun.blogspot.com says
The bagelwich sandwick looks delicious…I had boring ole Kashi GoLean, lol. I have always wanted to be on American Gladiators! 🙂
mj says
jeopardy … haaa just kidding! i’d want to be on wheel of fortune or wipeout. 🙂
Samantha says
Oh the aggro crag – love it! I always wanted to be on that show too!
Anne @strawberryjampackedlife says
Do, do, do , do ya have it? GUTS!
I would obviously be on Jeopardy. I’ve taken the online quiz at least once. That thing is dang hard!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
now i have the theme song in my head!
Anne says
You’re welcome!
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says
oh gosh I long to be on guts or legends of the hidden temple! And I wouldn’t be sad about being on the price is right, but only if I won at the end!
Kelly says
I would want to be on the Amazing Race with Keith. I feel like we would dominate! ha! 🙂
Sarah says
Jeopardy, by far. I’ve auditioned twice, but so far, no dice. Fingers crossed, though. 🙂
As a kid I always wanted to be on Double Dare!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
no way! what was the process like!?
Sarah says
Fun! I passed the online test, they contacted me, and then I went to audition in person. Our group had 25-30 people and there were tons of groups over a few days. They took pictures of us to attach to our applications and we took another 50-question test (to kind of verify that the person who took the online test was the same person who showed up to audition). After that, they let us ask questions about the show and then we did part of a fake show where everyone got a chance to practice using the buzzer to ring in as well as answer interview questions.
You stay in the contestant pool for 18 months and can’t take any more tests during that time. If you don’t get called, you can try again after that. 🙂
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
Haha when I saw the post title I immediately thought Guts!!! I would have loved to be on Hidden Temple!!!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
OMG yes I’ve heard of that show but haven’t seen it yet. I hear it’s pretty intense! I think I’d like to do The Amazing Race, and if that fails….. then Wheel Of Fortune. I seem to be able to guess the words far earlier than the contestants so I think it’d be fun to see how much money I win! 🙂
Carrie Purchase@ Lift Eat Repeat says
Price is Right!
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
I used to love Guts! My cousins and I would always watch it together. I always wanted to be on Family Feud or Supermarket Sweep though. 🙂
Megan@ The Running Doc says
Japanese game shows are the best! I’ve never seen American Ninja Warrior, but if you and Ryan like that you’d probably love Most Extreme Elimination Challenege which Wipeout is based off. It’s so hilarious to watch and the commentary is awesome!
Shannon says
Hands down it would be Wipeout!
Krista @ Blonde Aesthetic says
Easy!! Jeopardy! I saw it taped a couple months ago and it was literally a bucket list item.
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Oh goodness. I love reminiscing about old Nickelodeon shows!! There were so many good ones. I know this isn’t a game show, but I always loved “Hey Dude.” And “Are you Afraid of the Dark.” Good memories!! 😉
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I totally wanted to be on The Price is Right!! We used to watch Bob Barker and play along as kids while the adults were in the other room drinking their coffee and talking. 🙂
Faith @ For the Health of It says
The Amazing Race – if that counts as a game show instead of a reality show 🙂 Otherwise, Jeopardy or Millionaire, all the way. I got roped into doing Quiz Bowl in college so I’m a huge trivia nerd!
Beks says
I always wanted to be on Guts! That show was amazing, and they need to bring it back for kids today. Might help with Mrs. Obama’s war on Childhood Obesity if kids can see other kids in marathon-like activities. I loved all those active shows on Nickelodeon. It was like a long day of watching summer camp that I really wanted to join.
Allison @ Running Through Red Lights says
I used to LOVE GUTS! I would have given anything as a kid to be on that show! Lots of people commenting about Legends of the Hidden Temple–was I the only kid who didn’t want to be on that show??? The temple guards jumping out at you at random really freaks me out!
I don’t know that I’m quirky enough to go on the show, but I get a kick out of watching Wipeout! Some of those people really get into it!
Coco says
OMG I love Nickelodeon game shows! LEgends of the Hidden Temple was awesome but those crazy temple guards who jump out at you SCARED THE BEJEEZUS outta me. In modern television, I’d wanna be on Wheel of Fortune. I almsot ALWAYS solve the puzzle before the contestants when I watch (#nerd).
Becki @Fight4Wellness says
I’m not going to lie, I’d love to be on any game show. I loved Guts, but especially loved Global Guts! It was like the Olympics for kids! Remember when the Aggro Crag had a remake and the trophy piece was even more amazing?! I also loved American Gladiators as a kid. Man, this is making me nostalgic.
Danica @ It's Progression says
I have a serious habit of always taking spoonfuls (or fingers) or almond butter while whatever meal I’m cooking is heating up…probably not the best habit : )
I would love to be on the Wheel of Fortune..not super exciting but I’m always really good at guessing when I watch it on tv!
Staci Reichard says
Legends of the Hidden Temple was my favorite!! I would have loved to be on that! Did anyone watch Salute your Shorts!? LOVED that, too!
In the present…I would choose Wheel of Fortune. I am a word nerd!
Stephanie @ Legally Blinde says
That’s funny, I happened to watch American Ninja Warrior with my dad this week – I had never heard of it before. Those guys are really impressive! I would love to be on The Price is Right! I used to watch that show all the time when I was growing up, and still enjoy it if I ever catch part of a show. I also think it could be fun to be on The Bachelor.
Minerva says
Aggro Crag!…I saw the title and said “where have I heard that before?” I loved that show! I remember thinking the obstacles courses were so treacherous and scary looking. As if we would really throw boulders at children! lol
Christina says
Jeopardy. I am a total nerd at it and i get almost all of the questions right.
Hannah says
Your bagels always look so darn scrumptious! I think my game show of choice would be jeopary or family feud 🙂
Renee says
I’d love to be on Family Feud!
Taryn says
I always wanted to be on Legends of the Hidden Temple.. preferably as a Blue Barracuda.
