Good morning to you!
After a late(ish) night, Ryan and I decided to sleep in today and skip our 5 a.m. workout. Yes, The Bachelorette may have been partly to blame. I got totally sucked in.
I’m planning to head to the gym about 30 minutes before I’m set to begin work at 9 a.m. to do some upper-body strength training before it’s time for me to lead our beginner’s running club. Last week our run was canceled because it was pouring outside, but today the weather looks much more promising!
Breakfast
Breakfast this morning included an egg sandwich with two fried eggs and a toasted whole wheat English muffin topped with colby jack cheese and strawberry jelly.
Yum!
Almost August
I stopped by Hobby Lobby over the weekend and noticed that the craft store already has all of their fall decor on display. Summer is flying by! Since tomorrow is the last day of July, I cannot help but look forward to August. Lots of fun things on the agenda!
In chronological order:
- Minda’s bachelorette party in St. Augustine (This weekend!)
- Shopping for Leslie’s wedding dress
- LiveStrong Cancer Survivor Group Training
- IDEA Fitness Conference in Los Angeles
- Michaela and Kyle’s wedding in Colorado
- Minda and Clark’s wedding weekend in St. Augustine
Question of the Morning
- What are you looking forward to in August?
Sounds like such a fun August that you have planned! 🙂 I’m looking forward to celebrating my first wedding anniversary with my husband. I can’t believe it’s almost been a year already! Time goes by so quick.
congratulations to you and your husband! <3
you have such a fun month coming up!! amazingly i have so much work coming up next month (gah doesnt anyone know its summmmerrr?!) and that breakfast sandwich looks amazing, i havent had breakfast yet and im getting inspired 🙂
I have my first family vacation to Maine to look forward to. 🙂
I haven’t watched the bachelorette in years and am totally addicted this season. I can’t believe what happened with brooks!! Who do you think she’ll end up with? I think there may be a twist and he comes back… Either that or she ends up with no one at all, which is super disappointing. :/
My boyfriend and some friends are going on a wine tour in a few weeks time which will be nice.
Lots to look forward to! My boyfriends bday and a girls weekend!
Busy busy busy! There’s a bit on my calendar too, like both mine and the hubby’s bdays. Woohoo! I also have my baby shower, and of course, college football kicks off at the end of the month too. So much fun!
I’m looking forward to white water rafting for the first time ever!
I love Fall! When August rolls around I start getting antsy to drag out my Fall decor.
But sadly that will be the month (next week actually) that I move my daughter back to college.
Just a suggestion but I thought it would be cool if you created a playlist for your class based on this hot summer weather. Such as Summertime Blues, Hot Stuff or It’s Raining Men!
Ugh, August! I don’t even want to talk about it! My kids will be going back to school. 🙁 BUT I am looking forward to celebrating my 13th Anniversary with my wonderful husband and going to a college football game.
I’m looking forward to our annual family Disney trip! So much fun, and it never gets old – I guess that’s the kid in me 🙂
Sounds like you have a fun month coming up!
I’m looking forward to going to Italy in two weeks with a friend from college! I’ve never been to Europe before so I’m totally excited! 😀
I’ll be moving to Iceland for grad school in August. It will be a change and probably the most adventurous thing I’ve ever done 🙂
I’m looking forward to my b-day in August, but I’m not looking forward to school starting for my kiddos or going back to work tomorrow. 🙁 I’ve so enjoyed my summer! I would be happy if July lasted forever!
Looking forward to hearing more about your running club. I’ve been contimplating doing this Running Coach program & organzing something similiar. Do you follow a program – ie: Couch to 5K etc? How often do you meet? Would love to hear more.
Sounds like it will be an exciting August!
I have FINALLY gotten a job that I went to school for! I graduated almost 3 years ago with a degree in Elementary Education and have not been able to get a job, until now! My first day is August 1 and I couldn’t be more excited!! Also, I’m planning a party for my nieces 1st birthday for August 31. A great way to start the month and a great way to end it!
I’m counting down the days until my wedding – August 31st! Can’t wait 🙂
School starts back up in August and I’m excited for it!
My families yearly trip to Maine! I’ve been going since I was 6 months old but this will be the first time in 30 years I bring a boyfriend with me. Very nervous yet excited at the same time to share this special spot with him. Also a good friends bridal shower and moving the rest of my stuff into the boyfriends house (more looking forward to the move being over!)
Speaking of fall things being out in stores, Giant Eagle had Sam Adams Oktoberfest out yesterday! I am still in Summer Shandy mode :(. I am a teacher so the end of summer is highly depressing for me. I love fall and am fine once the first couple weeks of school are over and I get in a routine.
Sounds like a busy but fun August! I’m looking forward to turning 25 next week, visiting Martha’s Vineyard for the first time for my friend’s bachelorette party, and then attending her wedding Labor Day Weekend! I hate when everyone starts talking about fall so early (we still have a full month of summer! I don’t want to think about leaves and apple cider as I’m swimming! haha)
Ultimate Body Press Dip Stand: Anson Sports is the brand I use, but other brands would also be effective. I love this piece of equipment for it’s versatility. I most often use it to work my arms, abs and chest. It is important to maintain variety in your workouts, and there is a lot you can do with the dip station.
Im looking forward to my mom’s 60th birthday next Saturday. I have planned a surprise party for her on a Sunset cruise out of clearwater with 35 of her friends! I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she sees everyone there for her birthday!
I cannot believe its August this week!
We leave this weekend on a road trip to the wets coast for a week and I am more than ready to get away, especially since this will be our last holiday before baby comes in November.
I am also excited for the Mud Hero race we are doing, meeting a blog friend and hopefully having more sunshine to get in some beach days, lately the weather has been so icky!
Sounds like fun! My husband and I will be painting the nursery for our first baby in August, and putting together all the furniture. I’m really excited to get started decorating!
I am going to see my parents tomorrow and spending the first few days of August with them! As a bonus it is my Mom’s birthday!
Sounds like a great August you have planned! I’m looking forward to a week long family vacation to Bethany Beach, DE and the first bachelorette party weekend in my group of college friends! I’d love to hear your ideas for bridal shower/bachelorette party gifts since you seem to be so creative and been to quite a few recently 🙂 Have a great day!
I am looking forward to spending a few weekends at the Lake and taking advantage of the summer sun and getting lots of runs in and time with Luke at the park!!
August is kind of huge for me because it is the month we will move into our new home that we just bought! Also, the last week of the month is our annual beach vacation with a huge group of friends. Needless to say, I’m a BIT pumped about August!
I hope this every year, it never happens, but I’m still going to hope it happens lol. I hope that fall comes early 🙂
August means that much closer to football season and 2 months away from my wedding! Wahooo!
You seem to be on a roll with that breakfast….and I really can’t blame you. The sweet and savory breakfast is the absolute best!
The Bachelorette last night made me feel uncomfortable, haha. So.Much.Crying.
That does sound like a fun August! I am looking forward to going to StL to be with fam & friends & to have my first baby shower! woot.
It sounds like August is packed with things for you to do! I hope you have fun when you visit Colorado! I live there and it is very nice in August, so take advantage of the nice weather while you’re out here!
After a SUPER busy June and July I am looking forward to some down time in August! This year so far has been wedding central around here and we get a one month break before lots of more wedding events come up!
Your month sounds busy and fun! I am taking my mom to Cancun for her 50th in Aug, can’t wait!! I need a vaca 😉
Bachelorette last night….I have to say, I saw that coming a mile away! I do feel bad for her though.
Anyways, in August I’m looking forward to a lot! August 1st starts with a psychic reading dinner with the ladies in my family- should be interesting! Other events include picking figs, going to see Wicked in NYC, and spending time at the beach with my family.
Have a great month 🙂
I am going to IDEA FIT Conference too but only for a day and just to the convention portion! 🙂 I’m looking forward to that but what I am also looking forward to is my MOM coming to visit me! I haven’t seen her since XMAS I believe and I really miss her.
Oh and isn’t it nuts how The Bachelorette can suck you in when it’s just 45 minutes of muffled crying?
After a super busy summer, I’m looking forward to slowing down getting back into a routine in August. I’ve been gone for a few weeks so I may have missed it-what’s the Livestrong thing you’re doing exactly? My mom is a breast cancer survivor (as I believe yours is as well?), and I’m passionate about getting involved in the fight against it!
I am going to Lollapalooza music festival this upcoming weekend in Chicago! Some much needed fun time with some of my best friends to get my mind off of all the stressful things I am supposed to be thinking about. I’m looking forward to nothing but smiles, music and adult beverages all weekend!
I’m looking forward to my 30th birthday at the end of the month!
Unfortunately, my husband will be away for work almost the entire month of August, so I’m mostly excited to visit him! I feel lucky that I’m able to go see him for an entire week; I don’t know how military wives do this for far longer than a month!
You sound like you have a great month ahead of you! I am looking forward to celebrating my birthday (the big 21st! woohoo).
My birthday and wedding anniversary are both in August. I’m looking forward to both!
My wedding!! It’s August 17th, and I can’t wait! 🙂
I was looking forward to finding out the sex of my baby but I did an ultrasound a week early instead (last Friday) and found out I’m having a boy :):) Now I’m excited to start shopping for him!
I’m looking forward to maybe meeting our baby girls!!
my hubby’s birthday & my birthday are both in august! 🙂
So fun that you have bachelorette parties and weddings to attend in St. Augustine. I went to college there – Flagler College, of course – and it is one of my favorite little towns in the whole world. I live in Oklahoma now, so I am really jealous!
I’m looking forward to the Midnight Streak on August 10 (it is a 5K that takes place near downtown OKC at midnight), a friend’s wedding reception in Wichita on August 17, and starting my last semester of coursework for my doctorate on August 19. And just six more weeks before I run my first half-marathon!
