Even though Ryan has to work this week when the majority of his colleagues have off, his schedule will hopefully be less hectic through Thursday. I was happy to get a call from him as I was walking out to my car after work telling me that he was on his way home.
Sadie was thrilled when we both walked through the door and immediately changed into our play clothes for a chilly evening walk with the pup. We covered about 2.5 miles and walked around beautiful Lake Eola as the sun was setting. Nighttime walks are really fun! We loved looking at the remaining Christmas lights while they’re still up and twinkling.
Dinner
Once we arrived home, it was dinnertime!
Tonight’s meal included roasted pork with apples, served alongside roasted cauliflower and carrot slices.
The heat from the oven warmed our whole apartment. Now it’s nice a cozy!
Dessert was a little bowl full of M&Ms from my Christmas candy stash.
The M&Ms were a gift from my cousins as a joke because the last time I visited them in North Carolina, I ate all of the M&Ms out of their big bowl of trai lmix while we were chatting away in the kitchen. Oops!
Can you really blame me though? M&Ms > Raisins, right?
I’m off to crawl into bed a little early tonight and read my girly book (Mini Shopaholic, in case you were wondering). Sounds like the perfect evening activity if you ask me. Catcha lata!

Wow that looks like a gorgeous walk! and you and Ryan are too cute 🙂

Just read that book, I love that series and this one doesn’t disappoint. Enjoy!

It’s so funny, my dog can only go about 1 mile around Lake Eola before he’s dragging his paws and wants to go home! lol He’s no Sadie, that’s for sure.

I just bought Mini Shopaholic on my Kindle and CAN’T WAIT to read it:-)
Bee Goes Bananas says
Julie, do you tan/use a bronzer, or do you naturally have sun-kissed skin? I’m jealous! My skin “pales” in comparison. (Haha, oh my…)
peanutbutterfingers says
i use sunless tanner in the morning (the liquid kind) and bronzer, too! i WISH i was naturally tan!
Bee Goes Bananas says
What kind do you use? I’ve tried a few, but they end up looking streaky or orange.
Nathan Miller says
Mom and pops made a two separate snack mixes over Christmas..one with pretzels, cheerios, unsalted nuts, cinnamon toast crunch, and M&Ms!
Also they made just a mix with M&Ms and roasted peanuts, and well its safe to say all the M&Ms were gone by the weekend out of both mixes and they asked who did it so the next morning I got up and bought another bag of M&Ms and replaced all the ones I ate..haha..goodtimes
Sarah K. @ The Pajama Chef says
i love nighttime walks…so magical 🙂
Kelly says
That is too funny that you ate all the M&M’s out of the trail mix and all the chocolate chips out of the cookie dough mix…do I sense a pattern?? haha!!
peanutbutterfingers says
yes! i am a sucker for chocolate.

What a pretty walk!! Dinner looks absolutely delicious as well!
Kelli says
How do you roast your vegetables? Like your cauliflower from tonight’s dinner?
peanutbutterfingers says
toss them in olive oil, season w/ salt & pepper & roast in the oven (on a cookie sheet) for 20 min. at 400 degrees, flipping halfway through. TASTY!
Sarra says
i love evening walks too! especially when the area is gorgeous like in your picture and during springtime when the weather is nice and breezy… ahhh 🙂

Lake Eola is beautiful. Looks like the perfect way to end the day 🙂

Ohhh Mini Shopaholic! I totally want to read it soon- I alternate serious books with fun stuff like that, and will be finishing “Real Food: What to Eat and Why” soon. I hope it makes an appearance at the used book store quick!
Sam says
I totally made roasted cauliflower to go with dinner tonight too. Coincidence? It was gone in the blink of an eye!

I do that with trail mix to- how can you not? The M&M’s and chocolate chips are the best part of any trail mix!!
Hope says
The view from your walk looks so pretty! M&M’s are so addicting! I have some in my candy dish on our cocktail table and I think my boyfriend already polished them off! I can’t keep any candy on the table because he eats it first. 🙂

I LOVE the Shopaholic books! They are so fun to read 🙂

I have read the entire Shopaholic series and just got Mini Shopoholic! I am going to start it this weekend I can’t wait. Her writing style is so easy to read and I can actually zone out and relax! I have an emergency bag of M&M’s stashed in my work bag….so far they have remained un opened but now you really have me thinking about them! 🙂
Caroline says
I love the shopaholic books! I had actually bought the mini shopaholic book ahead of time so it was on my kindle the day it came out 🙂 any other suggestions for light reading girly books??
peanutbutterfingers says
have you read the “something borrowed” series? definitely light, easy reading & pretty entertaining (though nothing beats shopaholic)!
Caroline says
no but I always notice them when I’m looking for my next book, I’ll have to try them! Thanks for the suggestion!
Alexis says
My rule of thumb when book shopping is “the more pink on the cover, the better (or juicer) the story.” Try Trading Up by Candice Bushnell (of SATC fame). It’s my all-time fave!
Shannon @ Philadelphia Phitness Pharmacy says
Love that skyline picture. Looks like a great walk!
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
I’m OBSESSED with those mindless shopaholic (and all sophie kinsella) books! FYI, for long car trips, the audio books are fabulous. 😉
Sarah Elizabeth says
I love those books! Such a guilty pleasure… =)
Brooke says
I’m also reading Mini Shopaholic! Becky is so funny and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to get Minnie to behave!!
Macrae says
I laughed out loud at the M&M’s part! For my brother’s rehersal dinner after party we set out bowls of M&M’s as a tribute to my Grandmother who ALWAYS has a bowl at her house. Even with all the other late night snacks, the M&M’s were gobbled up first 🙂
