Aspaeris Pivot Compression Shorts Giveaway

February 25, 2012 by Julie 1,073 Comments

After I blogged about the soreness I experienced following the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, a wonderful woman (and amazing athlete!) who works with my dad and reads my blog reached out to me about the benefits of compression clothing.

She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.

After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.

I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.

Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.

The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.

According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”

Snug as a bug in a rug. Smile

The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.

And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

My greatest achievement was completing my first half marathon a couple of weeks ago. I always thought that I could not be a runner for various reasons until I started to see all the different body types runners have. I almost cried at the starting line knowing this was one of those lifetime goals.

My Mom who is 58 (whoop whoop:)) and I have been doing an annual half marathon together. Our next one is coming up in May. This is the only race that I don’t worry about speed but it does keep me on the treadmill and active to ensure I can finish it with no problems.

I completed a 30-day Bikram yoga challenge earlier this month! To be fair, I did miss 3 days during the course of the month, but out of absolute necessity. I don’t think I’ll ever do the challenge again, but I’m very glad I did – it showed me that I *could* do it. 🙂

My greatest athletic achievement was walking a half marathon while 8 months pregnant. I had run a few in the past and was training for my first marathon when I got pregnant. I still wanted a fitness goal while pregnant so I walked a half marathon this past January. I had a great time and someday would love to tell my daughter or son that they accompanied me on that walk.

I’d love to get a pair for my little sister, who is running her first half marathon (!) next weekend along with the children she mentors in the program YouthRun NOLA, which tutors innercity kids and teaches them about fitness and nutrition. Watching her turn into a runner this year has been an amazing transformation and I’m so proud of her! I went two miles with her today and thought I might die…I have a lot to learn.

I am already in love with these and I have not even tried out anything compression yet! I also get super-sore quads after long runs.
My greatest athletic accomplishment was to BECOME a runner! I was a swimmer/water polo player all through high school and college but never really ran! After I graduated college I started with really, really small runs {like around the block} and ran my first real 10k race just a few years later- I still run often and just love that I taught myself something and have stuck with it!
