She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.
After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.
I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.
Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.
The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.
According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”
Snug as a bug in a rug.
The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.
And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

I have never had any athletic ability. Ever! I always wished I did, but I failed at everything I tried. Then my husband, who played college basketball and can run like the wind, encouraged me in running. I am not some amazing long-distance runner, but it makes me feel so happy and so accomplished when I knock out 3 miles! I hope to increase my mileage. Maybe these shorts will help!

Greatest athletic achievement was qualifying for the Boston and NYC marathons!
My greatest athletic goal was getting back into competitive swimming. I was a swimmer in high school (but not in college) and found that I missed it. So I looked around Chicago and realized there were TONS of options for Masters Teams, and have been swimming ever since (5 years). Even though I love my normal gym classes, nothing gives me as good a workout as a hard swim set. I am proud to have kept up with it, even though jumping in a pool on a snowy winter night is tough to do, and even though the pool I swim at is very inconvenient to get to. It’s all worth it in the end!
I was so proud of myself when I finally was able to jog 5 miles straight. One day I would love to do 7 regularly.
I am a bit embarrassed to put this up here because everyone else’s goals are so amazing; but I would be excited to just run a 5k without having to walk any. Thanks for the chance to win!
Gotta be hiking from Canada to Mexico with my now husband following the Continental Divide Trail. I use “following” rather loosely however, as we were lost most of the time.
But in all reality, my greatest athletic achievement is just continuing to workout. Every night that I can go to sleep feeling I’m a bit healthier is a reason to be proud.
And what they have in common is that every single little achievement is hugely important and they add up to big achievements.
I’m reaching one of my life goals next weekend – HALF MARATHON! & I’m so psyched <3 Lifetime goal overall is maybe half ironman or even ironman. Something physically active for sure 🙂
I know this is small achievement to some but my personal goal is to run a 5K! =)
My most immediate goal is to run a 5K. I’m on week 6 of C25K and I’m ready for my graduation race!
Over the past two years, I’ve lost 63 lbs…running helped tremendously. My next goal is to become a certified Spinning Instructor.
Greatest achievement was breaking a certain time when I was a swimmer, it was like a VICTORY swim! But my goal for the future is to increase my endurance even more and more by cross training!
I hope to lower my marathon time this spring!
Training for my second marathon and hope to beat my last time!
My future goal is to run a half marathon, hopefully before I finish college. I start next year and I’m currently working on running and increasing my distances! I also would love to join college sports next year, hopefully soccer for sure. (:
My greatest athletic accomplishment to date is running 7 miles. I have never been a “runner” so running that distance was huge for me!
Before I tore my ACL, I ran distance. One year, I joined a Relay for Life team in order to raise money and awareness for Cancer research and treatment. The event had our team of 6 going for 24 hours around a track, switching off every 30 minutes. To give my sponsors a little extra incentive to give, I pledged to run each of my segments. For 24 hours, I got on that track every segment to run. I remember being woken up at 2 in the morning to switch off, putting shoes on my swollen feet, and it just being me, my blurry eyes, the stars, and the memorial candles. I’ve had to leave serious running behind for more tame sessions since my surgery, but I’ll never forget that day. And the next week, since I was quite sore for a while after that!
One of my most proudest athletic moments was when I did a 22 mile morning glory bike ride through Cincinnati Ohio. It was about 4 years ago. My boyfriend and his friend decided to finish at 17 miles and I road the extra 5 miles through Northern Kentucky. I didn’t get off my bike once! My legs were Jell-O afterwards but It was really a great moment for me and one that I have wanted to acheive again. I think I’ll start training for this years ride 😉
My goal is to get my knees healthy again so I can run my second half marathon!
I’m running a half marathon on May 6th. Yay!
I’m going to run my first 10k in May at the Flying Pig in Cinncinati
