Though I got caught in a bit of traffic, I made it back to Ocala about 30 minutes after the sun went down.
My drive was fueled by a delicious Starbucks pumpkin spice Frappuccino – something I’ve been craving for weeks!
It was so nice to walk in the door and have a wiggly puppy come running toward me and a handsome husband help me unload my car. It always feels so good to be home, even if I’m only away for a day!
When I arrived home, Ryan was just returning from an evening run with Sadie, so while he showered, I made us a fast dinner using leftover food from last weekend’s Friendsgiving party.
Bacon leftover from the glazed carrots and a spare sweet potato leftover from the sweet potato casserole quickly morphed into a yummy meal.
Bacon + Eggs + Sweet Potato + Butter
I am officially committing to eating something green tomorrow!
Time to curl up on the couch to watch last night’s episode of The Sing Off on the DVR! To the three of you who also love this show, any stellar performances I should look for tonight?
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
Glad you arrived safely!!
VocalPoint’s “Every Step” was out of this world. SO amazing. THey seriously rocked that show. Pentatonix did okay, but I don’t love how they never move…but that is prob my problem. Hah.
I LOVE egg dinners!
Mallory says
sometimes you have to ditch the green for something buttery and comforting! plus, they’ll taste that much better when you eat them next!
Tiff @ Love Sweat and Beers says
I haven’t seen the sing off; am I missing something good?
By the way, now I want a sweet potato! Those never let me down.
peanutbutterfingers says
you’re missing something AMAZING!! but apparently only 10 people in america think so b/c the show doesn’t seem to be too popular! if you like acappella music, you’ll love it!
Amy says
Isn’t that so crazy that hardly nobody (is that proper English??) watches this show?? It’s so great to see such raw new talent. I’ve watched it from the first season and I can barely stand it until the next season starts 🙂
Amy says
O.M.G. Pentatonix for sure…their “Let’s Get it On” version was AH-MAZING!!! They are my pic for the big win 🙂
Sara says
Haha, I never comment but I love the sing off too! I also LOVE Pentatonix, they make everything their own and have such a great sound for only having 5 people!
Julie says
I don’t watch the Sing Off, but I love your dinner idea. I always feel guilty when I skip the greens, but tomorrow’s another day! Have a good night 🙂
Paige says
Pentatonix was awesome per usual but there were some other good ones too! Don’t want to spoil it for you. 🙂
Savannah @ Sweet and Savvy says
The green Starbucks straw and emblem count as your green today! 🙂
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
That looks like breakfast for dinner, which I am ALWAYS a fan of!
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
Yum – I love any pumpkin coffee! And your Friendsgiving meal is making me want Thanksgiving!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
I just tried a Starbucks pumpkin frap for the first time last week and instantly fell in love! It’s so so good! Glad you’re able to be home now!
Olivia @ PeanutButterNerd says
I know what you mean – after so much not your usual food you just start to wish, no matter how much you are enjoying yourself, that you had your usual healthy eats!
Heather @ For the Love of Kale says
Vocal Point chose to sing Bobby Brown’s ‘Every Little Step’ and it was UH-MAY-ZING!!! Pentatonix kicked booty too!
Kat @ Balance & Spice says
Two of my friends were in the Sing Off – from USC, called the SoCal Vocals. And I totally agree – coming home is absolutely the best part of my day. 🙂
Emily says
I LOVED Vocal Point’s first song. It was so funny but at the same time, really well done. And as always, both of Pentatonix’s songs were great!
Jess says
I love The Sing-Off! My alma mater’s a cappella group was on there earlier this season (the Rochester Yellowjackets) so that was my main motivation for watching. But I’m hooked anyway. I’m rooting for Pentatonix and Afro-Blue; I can’t pick just one!
Hillary says
I am obsessed with Pentatonix, but have grown sooooo tired of Afro Blue. They have amazing voices, but I just would not buy the album. I hated to se Vocal Point leave when there were groups I thought have done a much poorer job overall!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
i love brinner!
didn’t even know pumpkin frapps existed. cannot wait to get my hands on one of those babies!
Aimoree says
Dartmouth Aires fan here!! All the groups are so talented!
janet pole says
Chocolate chip mint icecream is green. :I)
Bethany @Bethany's Befuddled Brain says
Mmm sweet potatoes are my favorite, especially smothered in ketchup! I’ve definitely now have to make an impromptu visit to Starbucks tomorrow on my way to class.
Kaelin says
Haven’t watched this week’s Sing Off!, but I am really loving the themes of the past couple of weeks. I have always like Urban Method and Penatonix, but everyone is sounding great!! The guys group that sang the Queen medley, love them!!!
Lisa says
Ha! I am 1 of the 3 🙂 I loved Pentatonix! You looked beautiful in the wedding pics yesterday!
Khushboo says
Do green wrappers count 😉
Amanda @ Running On Waffles says
LOVE the Sing Off! Pentatonix are amazing, but nothing else is new. I’m kind of shocked by who goes home, but it is the point where they’re all great. I’m also a big Afro Blue fan, but that may be because I pretty much live next door to Howard Law.
Lindsay says
I love the sing off!! Penatonix killed it on their last song. They are so awesome!
Erin says
the AIRES for sure. go dartmouth!!!!!
Bri says
The aires’ remix to ignition was priceless!! Made my day!
Alexa @ SimpleEats says
Sadie must have been so happy to see you! Glad you made it back safe!
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
Glad you made it home safe! And ohh that pumpkin spice frapp looks amazing! Did you see the Foodbuzz Featured Starbucks K-Cups opportunity? I keep on checking my mail hoping I get picked!
Erica says
Pentatonix !!!!!! and Vocal Point was a favorite in this household 🙁
Stephanie says
My husband is obsessed with The Sing Off! I died laughing when I caught him watching it the first couple times but I’ve kind of warmed up to it. Pentatonix is a pretty talented group! And I LOLed at the kid from BYU talking about how his little body has soul or whatever he said.
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
Ahahaha bacon and eggs and sweet taters with butter = MAGICAL MAGIC. Starbucks falls into that category too.
Coco says
Sweet potatoes and eggs.. Hm. that sounds really yummy- I haven’t had goof luck with flavored coffees- they syrup seems too sweet or over powering for me.. However I like the idea of pumpkin spiced… maybe I’ll have to try one more time.. 🙂
Sarah says
Pentatonix is absolutely my favorite. Any group that sings a song that can make Ben Folds give a standing ovation is fabulous.
peanutbutterfingers says
ha! agreed! and i noticed ben’s standing o, too!
Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile says
Breakfast for dinner is so good! I eat sweet potatoes for breakfast sometimes with almond butter! 🙂

Michelle @ Blogitness says
Pumpkin Spice is amazing — it can get you through any amount of traffic!
Yolie @ Practising Wellness says
Oh my goodness, that dinner looks wonderful! Love me some fried eggs, and sweet potatoes with butter! 🙂 xyx
Amber K says
The Sing Off rocks, I have no idea why it isn’t more popular. I have to agree with a previous comment- Vocal Point’s Every Step was so good I had to rewind and rewatch. And Pentatonix always ROCKS whatever they do.
Chelsea says
Do you have the sweet potato recipe?
peanutbutterfingers says
i just followed this one: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/traditional-sweet-potato-casserole-10000001673131/print/ it was great!
