You’ll never guess what I did for my workout today.
BodyPump! I am so happy this class is back in my life. (I promise I’ll try not to gush over how thrilled I am to have access to this class again every time I take it, but for now I just can’t help it. Heck yes!)
After scouting out a nearby gym that offers BodyPump this morning, I downloaded a free three-day pass and headed out to take the class after publishing my morning blog post. The class went well and the instructor took us through the new July release. It felt good to work up a sweat and I am already planning to return for another class later this week.
After BodyPump, I had a few errands to run and picked up a few things from Target and TJMaxx.
One thing I did not buy? This snazzy little number.
Let me know if you want me to go back and pick it up for you. It was on clearance for only $5. (I can’t imagine why.)
I also stumbled upon a mug I would have immediately purchased if it said “Crazy Dog Lady.” I would wear that label with pride.
At Target, I bought wrapping paper, scissors and tape, all of which I forgot to bring with me when I left Ocala. (My sister’s birthday is on Thursday and I needed to wrap her gifts before mailing them to her house.) I wonder how many duplicate purchases we’ll end up making during our time in temp housing?
The wrapping paper I ended up buying from Target was super cute though, so that’s a good thing. If I’m going to buy extras of things we already have, I’ll try to buy inexpensive stuff that’s fun!
I love it. It looks like a mint lace design which is right up Leslie’s alley. We’re both big-time suckers for anything lace (even wrapping paper, apparently).
Once my errands were done, I was pretty darn hungry and picked up some grab-and-go sushi for lunch.
I’m convinced I could eat sushi every day and never get sick of it. So delicious!
Now that I’m back at home, I plan to spend the rest of the day working on the computer. Ryan and I are hoping to take Sadie for a long walk tonight if the weather holds up!
Hope you’re having a great Monday!
I’m not exactly sure what a Body Pump class would be like, but it’s on my list of “to-do’s” – along with Barre, it’s so amped up, but I have no clue what to expect! I love that wrapping paper! I justify a duplicate purchase by knowing that I’ll still use it all at some point – it’s just going to last me longer! Maybe that’ll ease your mind! 😉 I love the ease of picking up sushi to-go! So yum!!
Raw salmon is just the best! We don’t do hot smoked salmon here but cold smoked is a staple..at least in my diet!
I love body pump classes but don’t take them as much as I’d like because they always throw me off for the next day. Since they work the whole body how do you handle your workouts the day before and after, so your muscles can rest?
Sushi every day would be my ideal diet plan. Plus fro-yo 🙂
You KNOW you want to wear that leotard to Body Pump. You would be the talk of the class! 😉
Maybe that bodysuit is $5 because it has been there since 1991, when they were in fashion. I hope that is one trend that does NOT combe back! EEK!
gush away…frankly i’m jealous. i used to take spinning then do body pump immediately after. what a crazy awesome way to spend 105 minutes! that was 10 year ago (when i had access to body pump) and i still dream about it. i live vicariously through you.
Sounds like you are settling right into life in Charlotte! Hope you have a great walk this evening!
I also have a question about what your workouts look like before and after body pump since they work the whole body… I take a class called BodyWorks and I LOVE it but it’s always hard to get a good workout in the next day… how often do you take Bodypump(or will you take now that it’s back in your life)?
I second this question!!
That’s awesome you found body pump! YAY!
And I could never get tired of Sushi. It’s so darn good!
I hope the weather holds up for your long walk! Sounds like a great ending to a Monday=)

Is it bad that I would be tempted to buy the crazy cat lady mug?
That leotard is definitely interesting! Target always has great deals on cheap stuff that you can really use! From reading your blog I know how much you love Body Pump so I’m glad you have a class close to you that you can attend!
That wrapping paper is cute! Usually I buy mine at this japanese “dollar” ($1.50) store called Daiso. They have the most adorable stuff I’ve seen.
I love your writing on that envelope. So fancy!
I just have to say that I tune into your blog daily. But today I was having a ROUGH day at work and I just want you to know that I really appreciate your positive energy because it brings out the positive energy in me that got beat down a little bit today. Thanks Julie!!!
Hahahaha, you could buy the weird leotard and wear it to BodyPump! Good idea, right?!
Beautiful wrapping paper!
Pump is one of my favorite classes! Have you ever done Body Attack? If not, you need to add that to your list of classes to try. It’s my all time fave. 🙂
Oh sushi, how it miss you. I could eat it everyday too! That is my first request after I deliver this baby in December.
Hope your weather holds out. It has been gloomy and on off drizzles in Charleston today.
I loved sushi too! But then i watched the netflix documentary the global catch. Totally watch it. Also, another great sushi documentary is jiro dreams of sushi. Both are streaming and I highly recommend!
Yum sushi looks amazing!
I’m having a hard time understanding why you didn’t get that leotard! C’mon, you can’t beat $5! 😉
I love sushi too! There’s a sushi restaurant next to my apartment building and it’s so hard to resist when I see it everyday!
I think duplicate is pretty standard when moving haha!! Love your writing!! It’s so perrrrty!
Thank you!!
That leotard brings back memories from when I was little girl and was a ballerina!
BodyPump is so awesome! I can’t wait to try it again!
I really want to try body pump!!! I can’t seem to find a class in my area yet 🙁
My Monday was pretty good, but I think it might have been better had I taken a Body Pump class! 😉
I have heard such great things about BodyPump!!
I love that crazy cat lady mug!
I live in Charlotte~ where are you taking body pump classes? Hope you are getting settled. I would love for you to try Madabolic with me if you ever want a new class to attend.
Can I just be the first to say that wearing leotards are wonderful paired under skirts? They never ride up like normal shirts when tucked in. They’re also amazingly slimming. I own a black 3/4 sleeve leotard that’s perfect with pencil skirts for work, I never have to readjust myself when getting up from my desk. Just thought I’d throw that out there in case you’re willing to give it a try.
I wear them with high waisted shorts and skirts and jeans for the same reason you mentioned — no riding up and they are so slimming!
I love the color combo of the wrapping paper and the ribbon! And I say gush to your heart’s content!
I have so many duplicates from moving, but at least we have back ups when we need them!
I get just as excited about my favorite fitness classes. They are just so fun! Also, I’m with you-sushi everydayyyyy!
I read about body pump for the first time on your blog and thought it sounded like something I would want to try. I am always looking for ways to switch up my workouts. Well I finally found a place that offered it in my area and went to my first class last night. I absolutely loved it! I will definitely be taking more of those classes in my future!
Awesome!!!!!
i could totally eat sushi everyday. and yes please go back and pick up that shirt/leotard thing for me!
Julie, let me tell you a story.. I’m currently living in temporary housing while we await the build of our new house to be finished. More than half our stuff is in storage.. and on our first night in the temporary housing- I was looking around at all the boxes and I thought “um, where are my clothes?.. where is my huge box of clothes?”.. they ended up on the POD! The wrong box of clothes ended up with me. Nothing screams summer like cords, sweaters and flip flops 🙂 lol!
What kind of class is Bodypump? Is it like cardio+weights together? That’d be right up my alley. 🙂
Haha that body suit!!! My mom and I always joke that some times there is a reason things are on sale… And that suhsi looks so good. I may have to run out and get some for lunch today now!
Oh my gosh- every time I move I swear I lose stuff! Scissors is a biggie! So I buy a new pair and then inevitably find the old pair… Pretty sure I have like 5 pairs of scissors now. Whoops!
I NEED to take a Body Pump class!!!
Body Pump has been on my list of classes to try but for some reason I just can’t make myself go! I love that wrapping paper and I’m drooling over your sushi!
I first heard about body pump on your blog and ever since then I’ve been “hearing” about it all over the place but since I live out in the sticks ( about 30 minutes away from a decent gym) taking a body pump class is not going to happen BUT I recently saw that beachbody has a body pump DVD set- I wonder if any of the fabulous pbf readers have heard about it or tried it??? 🙂
I wish my morning consisted of the gym, shopping and sushi.
I first found out about BodyPump from you years ago. I started going to the classes and I loved it so much that I became a Les Mills Body Pump instructor! 🙂
Need that body suit for all my 90’s Jazzercise classes.
In all seriousness though, I need that mug.
