Last night as I was prepping overnight oats for breakfast, I made two separate batches… one with bananas and one without.
Though Ryan and I both like bananas in our overnight oats, Ryan is really funny about the texture of bananas and adds a banana to his overnight oats in the morning to combat the “mush factor.”
I, on the other hand, like adding bananas to the mix the night before so the oats really take on the flavor of the fruit.
In the morning I simply stir the oats up and swipe some of Ryan’s fresh banana slices to garnish my bowl for even more banana flare.
(Can you see me in the spoon’s reflection in my hot pink bathrobe? It’s Where’s Waldo: PBF Edition.)
Today’s overnight oats included the following:
- 2/3 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1/3 cup milk
- 6 ounces plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 banana, sliced
Mmm!
Cell Phone Ring Tones
Earlier this week, I was out and about running a quick errand after dinner when my cell phone rang. I didn’t think anything of it until a man near me started cracking up.
“Mambo Number Five? Really?” he laughed.
Ah!
When I first got my phone last year, I set the ringtone to Mambo Number Five to mess with Ryan because he owns (not owned… owns) the Lou Bega CD and swears it is awesome which I find incredibly hilarious.
I never changed the ring tone and Mambo Number Five has blared in several embarrassing environments throughout the past year. (The only person who has a different ring tone on my phone is Ryan. His is set to the first dance song from our wedding.)
I’m sure I’ll change my ring tone eventually, but Mambo Number Five is a surprisingly catchy ring tone and very distinguishable from other cell phone ring tones in public!
I know I can’t be the only one out there with a random and slightly embarrassing ring tone…
Questions of the Morning
- What is your cell phone ring tone?
- What’s the best cell phone ring tone you’ve ever heard?
I remember Ryan’s cousin set his cell phone ring tone to the Laguna Beach theme song in college as a joke which cracked me up. Even now whenever I hear Hilary Duff sing “Let the raaaain fall down and wake my dreams…” I cannot help but laugh.

Mentioning the LB theme song, really makes me want to leave work, go to the store and buy Laguna Beach Seasons 1, 2, & 3 (not that last season with LC’s little sister), head home and have a Laguna Beach Marathon. Oh, how I loved that show… To this day when I go visit family in Orange County, I wish there was a reason for us to go to Laguna Beach so that I could maybe see someone.
Kathy says
Ok you want a funky ringtone? Mine is Hanson’s Mmm Bop. Yep. I always loved them and my daughter HATED them, so anytime I could drive her crazy I did. So my first instinct when I got my phone was to add that song to my phone. I can just imagine what people think (but won’t say) when I am out in public and my phone rings.
Elise says
I have my ring-tone set to Beethoven’s Für Elise, so when my phone rings it’s literally for Elise (my name). I thought it was such a clever pun, but my friends just say it’s cheesy. 😛
Stacy says
My default ringtone is the Glee version of Don’t Stop Believing. My husband’s is You Make Me Smile by Uncle Kracker. When my mom calls, it’s Stacy’s Mom by Fountains of Wayne. I thought that one was pretty clever. 🙂
Brittany @Little b's healthy habits says
That’s too funny! I decided to forgo the song ringtone and stick with one of the boring default options that the iphone gives… I get sick of songs too quickly AND have a horrible time making decisions, so I just cut out all the guess work 🙂

Lol I keep saying i’llchqnge my ring tone, its the minions from Despicable Me laughing, but I always forget until it rings in public &out someone laughs at me!!!
'Dee @ 'Dee's Garret says
Reading through everyone’s ringtones was highly entertaining!!
I change mine from time to time, but they are always rock songs and slightly situational. The best “worst timing” story for admittedly a few of them for me was when I had was in a contentious meeting with several work colleagues, my boss, other bosses, etc. The situation was pretty charged and suddenly my phone goes off. Out of the speakers comes this, blaring, “Pressure!! Pressing down on me …”
David Bowie with Queen. I couldn’t keep a straight face and started giggling. Soon, others did too. Oh well, it lightened the mood! But I STILL get asked by some of those people, “So, what’s your ringtone NOW?”
Kari says
Hot Chelle Rae’s Tonight Tonight. And it has definitely gone off in embarrassing places. Or should I say, places where I wished I could have started jammin out to it. and of course its never quite, but the loudest set volume. but it can give people a laugh. 😀
Brittney @ Brittney Breathing says
Bahaha! Love that you ole Lou Bega as a ringtone! Such a good tune.
Maria says
Hilarious! Mine is “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” by Weezer. I lurvs it and yes, it never gets confused with anyone elses, haha.
Vanessa @ L'épice de la Vie says
My default ring tone is All Blues by Miles Davis, which doesn’t have any lyrics. But my closest friends and family each have their own ringtone and my brother’s ringtone is “Play That Funky Music” because I think its hysterical. It’s definitely gotten some stares in public though. LOL
Jamie @ Don't Forget The Cinnamon says
LOVE mambo no. 5
In high school, my friend recorded a ringtone on another friend’s phone in which she said “ring ring pick up your phone somebody’s calling you”! This was back in the day when song ringtones just consisted of little beeps and not actual words so I found this highly impressive and entertaining!

This is so funny because a lady’s cell phone went off at work today, and it was a really inappropriate rap song. I work in a strict business environment, and it reminded me if when I first started. My phone ring tone was set to “Gold digger” by Kanye West. I forgot to silence it, and I was so embarrassed when it rang!
Jen says
Apache: Jump on It. EVERYTIME it rings, I start doing the dance that Carleton and Will on Fresh Prince did to that song. Sometimes I answer too late because Im dancing or laughing, and I’ve had the ring tone for 4 years!
Monika says
I had it set to the inspector gadget theme song when my parents called. Most people thought it was hilarious, my mother did not!
Jennifer says
My ringtone is set to Amber by 311. Evertime my phone rings my Doberman howls his head off. He just can’t appreciate the awesomeness of that song, lol.
Lauren @ Forward is a Pace says
My husband had his ringtone set to “My Heart Will Go On” as a joke for a looooong time.
Jordan says
My ringtone can definitely be embarrassing sometimes. It’s a sound clip from an episode of the TV show ‘Pysch’ [which is great, by the way]. Basically it says “Boom-boom-boom…muffinssss.”
Yep.
Jordan says
And by ‘Pysch’ I obviously meant ‘Psych.’ :]
Haley B says
My favorite ringtone forever was Be My Lover by La Bouche. I know you love that song right? haha. Well it got me in trouble at a church event one day…it was a big loud cook-off/auction so I didn’t think to turn my phone off…and wouldn’t you know “be my lovvvverrrrrr!!!!” started blaring during the 30 second prayer to bless the food. I was like “seriously?” any other moment and I wouldn’t have been able to hear my phone!

The distinction together with zoomtrader
and regular alternatives if we are usually discussing the
phrases “in the money” and “out in the money” is actually that there is not as much chance, perhaps greater payouts, and
not all of the confusion usually regarding acquiring standard
possibilities. So instead of trading in the united
states market segments, you might like to look at Oriental areas like the NIKKEI which often may enterprise contrary america, producing night buying and selling an absolute probability.
While an individual constantly discover how significantly
a person endure to find as well as shed by this sort of investment decision,
you should constantly think about that will insufficient legislations within most of
these OVER THE COUNTER markets may cause coming across and scrupulous brokers.
Some brokers may perhaps cost a little more, however in the end, you might continue to track, spend reliably, and also feel risk-free
if you know this broker is usually working for you.
