Today’s interval treadmill workout lasted 40 minutes and didn’t include too much running (18 minutes total), but whenever I pair running with crazy-fast incline walking, a red and sweaty face will almost always be the end result.
The 40 minutes I spent on the treadmill kicked off my workout for the day and I rounded out my time at the gym with a core circuit from the Best Body Boot Camp plan I am following. Burnin’ abs!
Breakfast
Breakfast this morning was sweet ‘n’ salty. Perfecto!
I made myself an egg bagelwich with strawberry jelly and Alouette Portions original soft cheese.
The cheese reminds me a lot of cream cheese. It’s incredibly creamy!
The company sent me the spreadable cheese to try several weeks ago and it has become a staple in my morning and afternoon snacks. The Italian herb cheese is perfect when spread on a whole wheat tortilla and topped with cucumbers for a light and delicious afternoon wrap. I’ve been pairing the original cheese with fresh fruit and honey. Yum!
Breakfast also included a hot mug of coffee. Wake up, buttercup!
Now it’s time for things to get a little cheesy around here…
Alouette is in the middle of a 30-city U.S. tour with the 12-year-old author of Portion Size Me, a new book about the way the young author and his family transformed their lives by modifying their daily food choices and watching their portion sizes.
To held spread the word, Alouette is offering one PBF reader the chance to win a signed copy of the book and five coupons for Alouette cheese, valued at $8 each.
To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, saying how you’d like to use the cheese. I will randomly select a winner tomorrow morning.
Good luck!
On Wheat Thins…yum!
Cheese coupons & a book? HEAVEN!
I love eating Alouette with tortilla chips and a glass of wine. Not the healthiest but so good after a long day!
I looooove oooey goooey melty cheese! I love it so much it brings me to my knees! If i was french I’d say oui oui!! I’d use it in the morning for breakfast please! How i love Aloutte cheese! It’s just the bee’s knees and speaking of bees…i’d put the honey on that cheese and make a super splendid recipe!! So please pick me for the Aloutte cheese, it so delicious and I’m a little ridiculous. For making it rhyme in a sing song way. I hope you don’t think i’m too cray-cray. But i hope it shows you I’m just the girl to display. For the winner of the Aloutte cheese and the Portion Size Me!
WOW i use to eat this stuff as a kid out of the container…the new portion controlled spreads llok delicious! I would love them on my bagel in the morning!!!
On a hot toasted whole wheat bagel!
Never tried this cheese but I think I would try it on crackers first.
Yum! I would like to use this on breakfast bagels but also on savory lunch sandwiches or wraps with lots of veggies!
The book sounds interesting! I have recently started to add cheese to my egg burritos in the morning. I bet the plain one would melt well on top of my eggs and avocado! Yum yum- give me some!
oh man, I love all cheese on just about anything. I say cheese and crackers – with a side of wine, of course 🙂
and by the way, that treadmill workout looks killer!
I started putting feta in my morning omelet and loved it. Sounds like this cheese would be even better!
I would make egg sandwiches with it! Yum!
I would use this cheese in a really yummy stuff chicken breast recipe my husband and I love!
I would dip raw veggies in this delicious-looking cheese!
I would use the cheese for my breakfast in an omelette or on a veggie sandwich for lunch!
I’m a busy Grad student and the Italian Herb flavor spread on whole wheat crackers would be the perfect snack for on the go! 🙂
I would use it on a wrap with lots of veggies, maybe even grilled!
Dipped in pretzels is the way to go but with trying to cut back on snacky stuff veggies would be my other option!
I am a cheese addict and I have actually never had Alouette Cheese. It looks fantastic!!
I recently moved to Boston to take on my first full-time job after graduate school (exiting grad school equals penny pinching), so I’ve been experimenting with new, affordable cheeses in my new city…this would definitely be a great addition to my experimenting!
That looks awesome! I’d definitely use it to spice up my lunchtime turkey sandwiches!
I would love to try it with some fresh fruit. Yum!
I would definitely use the cheese for ants on a log! Put some on celery and add raisins. YUM!
mmmm i would love to use the Alouette cheese on a wrap with a veggie burger, strawberries, avocado and spinach. yummy!!!!
I’d love to try the cheese with steamed broccoli and bacon bits. It would be like the inside of a loaded baked potato without the carbs or sour cream!
I’d use the cheese like cream cheese for a bagel or wrap! YUM! the above comment on broccoli sounds delish as well!
Yummy! I love this cheese, it is so versatility. It is great in wraps, salads and atop a turkey burgers and pizza. The egg sandwich looks fantastic, I am gonna have to give it a whirl!
I saw a great snack recipe recently and I think I would use the cheese for that. You just spread it on a graham cracker, and then top it with sliced red grapes — I’ve done this with light cream cheese before and I’m sure the Alouette cheese would easily translate! It was yum! 🙂 Thanks!
I would spread it on a Trader Joe’s brown rice wrap (my fav) and add some crunchy veggies!
2 words:
BREAKFAST BURRITOS.
but seriously, i’d mash that up with some avocado and spread it on a wrap to go with my egg whites and salsa! perfect balanced breakfast 🙂
This looks yummy! I think the classic cheese and crackers sound good to me 🙂
My favorite breakfast is a fruit burrito… Original Flat Out wrap, cheese, raspberries, blueberries, and sliced banana.
I’d like to use the cheese just the way you did this morning. In fact, after seeing these sandwiches on your blog so much, I was inspired to have one of my own this morning and it was delicious! I had an egg plus one white on a whole wheat bagel thin with sugar-free raspberry jelly 🙂
Looks delicious! I’d love to spread some on apple slices. I love a sweet/salty combo 🙂
I would use the cheese for wraps!
I’d love to try this cheese on a bagel thin with egg whites!
I would eat it with a granny smith apple! Yum
Mmm…yum! I just finished my omelette with sauteed mushrooms and fresh spinach – the Italian Herbs Alouette (or even the regular) would go perfectly!
I love cheese! I would put it on an egg sandwhich or in scrambled eggs or salad or Mary’s gone crackers or fruit or a pasta dish or quinoa salad etc etc etc!!
Oooo. I have had their cheese only once but I love the little portion sizes they have. Definitely eat it with crackers and veggies.
I loved to taste the cheese on a bagel sandwich just like yours! Its making me hungry!!
I love the herb flavor in omelets, so creamy!
i would try it with eggs or crackers… or maybe on toast!
Yum! I’d love to work this into a vegetable sandwich or my morning omelet.
This might sound weird but I love cream cheese/cheese paired with fruit- specifically strawberries since they are so GOOD right now!
I’d love to try it with baked pita chips!
I love alouette cheese! So glad to know it comes in these sizes as I usually eat too much of I when I open the normal package size. I love to put I on toasted pita bread.
it looks delicious on that egg sandwich! yum!
I would love to use it on a piece of Wasa Crispin Light with the cheese and cucumbers on top! Yum!
Their herb cheese is so good on a baked potato! I’ve never tried the plain, but the fruit-honey combo sounds delicious.
If it’s not something I could eat by itself (cheese fanatic!) then I would use it on breads/crackers! 🙂 Looks yummy!
not a cheese fan here, but I’d love to try that treadmill workout! lol
