Cherpumple vs. Turkey Cake

November 18, 2010 by Julie 65 Comments

After posting about the cherpumple and the turkey cake on my blog this week, your reactions varied.

Some of you were intrigued…

Cake AND Pie!? Meat in a cake!?

(Source)

Some of you were disgusted…

And some of you were unbelievably excited…

Weeeeee!

(Yes, that is puppy Sadie! 😀 )

I know that the thought of these two dishes may totally turn some of you off, while simultaneously deeply intriguing those of you who are sick like me. 😀

But I must ask…

If you had to eat a slice of one of these monstrosities, which would you choose…

The cherpumple?

Cherpumple

Or the turkey cake?

Gobble, Gobble

My vote is for the cherpumple for three reasons:

  1. It makes the never-ending cake vs. pie debate obsolete.
  2. It’s six different desserts… in one.
  3. I could top it off with a scoop of ice cream. (I am a sick, sick person.)

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I, of course, am for the cherpumple, having just completed one. And if your slice is thin enough, ice cream is 100% reasonable.

I mean, as reasonable as you can be when you bake pies into cakes. And then slap it together with cream cheese frosting.

        And caramel sauce. Duh.

I mean, it’s all about portion, right? As long as you slice up the cherpumple so that the pieces are reasonably-sized, and you add a little ice cream and whipped cream, it’s just a very diverse dessert.

That’s tough! I may have to say the turkey cake. I’m not much of a sweets person (unless it’s coconut then I’m ALL OVER THAT), so I may want to try the turkey cake but with minimal marshmallows! And sweet potatoes are just the right amount of sweetness, too! 🙂

    Cherpumple, hands down.

Meat in a cake freaks me out.

Pie in a cake might be very, very wrong….but…you know…..it would probably taste pretty darned good.

But there would have to be some sort of gravy to cover it in! mmmmm!

Definitely the Cherpumple. I’m apprehensive about savory things in cake form. It’s a bit too weird.

Instead of Cherpumple how about sweet potato cupcakes with toasted marshmallow topping? Somewhat healthy and most certainly delicious.

So you are in NO way sick for adding ice cream to the cherpumple. At all. I’m all for being healthy, but when dessert is involved? anything goes. In my mind at least.

Which is why i want to make this…http://www.cakespy.com/blog-old/2009/5/27/triple-threat-the-cookie-cake-pie.html. I’d be ok with some ice cream added on there too 🙂
