Some of you were intrigued…
(Source)
Some of you were disgusted…
And some of you were unbelievably excited…
(Yes, that is puppy Sadie! 😀 )
I know that the thought of these two dishes may totally turn some of you off, while simultaneously deeply intriguing those of you who are sick like me. 😀
But I must ask…
If you had to eat a slice of one of these monstrosities, which would you choose…
The cherpumple?
Or the turkey cake?
My vote is for the cherpumple for three reasons:
- It makes the never-ending cake vs. pie debate obsolete.
- It’s six different desserts… in one.
- I could top it off with a scoop of ice cream. (I am a sick, sick person.)
Alicia says
Haha! this post cracked me up!! I’m with you- Cherpumple all the way! The doggies are all so cute!
peanutbutterfingers says
i’ll take any excuse to post cute puppy pictures! 😀
Kelly says
Def the cherpumple…pretty much for the exact same reasons, lol 🙂
Victoria (District Chocoholic) says
I, of course, am for the cherpumple, having just completed one. And if your slice is thin enough, ice cream is 100% reasonable.
I mean, as reasonable as you can be when you bake pies into cakes. And then slap it together with cream cheese frosting.
peanutbutterfingers says
your thoughts on including whipped cream on TOP of the ice cream?
Victoria (District Chocoholic) says
And caramel sauce. Duh.
I mean, it’s all about portion, right? As long as you slice up the cherpumple so that the pieces are reasonably-sized, and you add a little ice cream and whipped cream, it’s just a very diverse dessert.
Erin says
Cherpumple….because it is dessert… duh! 😀
Leanne says
I like simple desserts, so neither! Yuck yuck yuck!
shauna says
more pics of puppy sadie!!!

shauna says
this just made my day!! seriously, though, could a puppy get any cuter??
Alyssa says
cherpumple all the way.
i now can’t decide if i want to slobber all over the cute doggies on your post or the yummy food. gaah!
P.S. i think you’ll be proud of me – look what i just started! you got a few serious shoutouts… haaha. don’t be alarmed or anything…

Kristina says
The cherpumple for sure. it is just plain silly to think that humans need any food other than desserts. And in all honesty, I think this would go perfect in your all desserts wedding feast plan!
peanutbutterfingers says
i like where your head is at.
Amber K says
The cherpumple. My sweet tooth can NOT be tamed. And I don’t eat meat. So really, no contest!
Tiffany S says
I wouldn’t choose either because I’m a vegetarian/sort-of vegan, but my husband thought that turkey cake looked pretty good!
Tiffany S says
Wait, is the cherpumple all dessert? Then I would choose that one! Vegan-style, but that’s just me.
Katie says
That’s tough! I may have to say the turkey cake. I’m not much of a sweets person (unless it’s coconut then I’m ALL OVER THAT), so I may want to try the turkey cake but with minimal marshmallows! And sweet potatoes are just the right amount of sweetness, too! 🙂
Emma (Sweet Tooth Runner) says
Definately churpumple! Apart from the fact that I don’t eat meat, you cannot hope to beat 6 desserts in one! 😀
And puppy Sadie is SO cute! 🙂
Shanna, like Banana says
Cherpumple without a doubt..though the other is quite lovely.
The question is how do you get bite that encompasses all 6 desserts in one?
peanutbutterfingers says
food processor?
megan says
haha lmao too funny.
and without hesitation…cherpumpleee–sweet name btw huh lol..try saying that 6 times fast
Alexa @ The Girl In Chucks says
Cherpumple, hands down.
Meat in a cake freaks me out.
Pie in a cake might be very, very wrong….but…you know…..it would probably taste pretty darned good.
Amanda @Run4Ayden says
The turkey cake for sure!!! I pretty much do that to Thanksgiving leftovers anyways! Put everything in a bowl and stir!
But there would have to be some sort of gravy to cover it in! mmmmm!
Clare @ Fitting It All In says
THE TRIPLE PIE DUH. Because I would eat a slice of each anyway:) And because I’m a vegetarian. I am totally not against either of these things however…it’s just wonderful creativity!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
as intrigued as i am by turkey cake, i’m going with the cherumple…i just don’t know if i could deal with a cake made of turkey!
Kaella Carr says
You just brought a HUGE smile to my face…. 1) b/c you posted the cherpumple.. which I have never heard of but sounds AMAZING!! 2) Because Sadie has the most contagious smile!! Awww…
Alex says
Definitely the Cherpumple. I’m apprehensive about savory things in cake form. It’s a bit too weird.
Instead of Cherpumple how about sweet potato cupcakes with toasted marshmallow topping? Somewhat healthy and most certainly delicious.

peanutbutterfingers says
drooooool.
jessica says
Cherpumple, without a doubt. There’s just something about the Turkey Cake that just disturbs me on a deep level. I think it is the thought of mushed up meat and the mashed potatoes “icing”. *shivers*
Tina @ Faith Fitness Fun says
Cherpumple. C’mon now…dessert or a meat + potatoes pie? Are you kidding me! No contest!
Annette says
I agree with you completely- Cherpumple for SURE! 🙂
Alex says
Or even something simpler, like Pumpkin Spice Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting? I promise it’s delicious! (Biased since it’s my blog though!) 🙂
http://fortheloveofsucrose.blogspot.com/2010/10/pumpkin-spice-cake-with-maple-cream.html
Stephanie says
So you are in NO way sick for adding ice cream to the cherpumple. At all. I’m all for being healthy, but when dessert is involved? anything goes. In my mind at least.
Which is why i want to make this…http://www.cakespy.com/blog-old/2009/5/27/triple-threat-the-cookie-cake-pie.html. I’d be ok with some ice cream added on there too 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
i am sooooo making this.
Julie says
Both look awesome…and I think I’d choose the dessert, but the turkey pie would be SO GOOD smothered in ketchup…just sayin’.
sue says
cherpumple
Bess @ Bess Be Fit says
The cherpumple! I’m also don’t eat meat so it makes it a slightly easier decision, but even if I did I’d still pick the cherpumple. I don’t even think I’d use a fork. Might just stick my whole face in it.
Melissa says
mmmm I would probably eat ice cream with both. But I vote for a dessert that has cookie in it too 🙂
Amanda says
Is anyone else getting a flashback of the friends episode where Joey eats the trifle Rachel made with mince?
peanutbutterfingers says
YES! that what EVERYONE at my work said when i sent out an office email about the cherpumple… beef, sauteed w/ peas & onions, ladyfingers, jam…
Marlo says
PUPPIES!!!! Love lil guys!
Im so torn between the cakes.. Im sure even tho very odd that the turkey cake is very savory and delish.. and then the cherpumple is oh so delish and sugar overload! But id probably have to go with the cherpumple.. because sugar wins every time with me in the end!
Meg says
You can, and SHOULD top it off with a scoop of ice cream…just for good measure 😉
Ash says
turkey cake! It looks delicious and I’m more of a salty person than a sweet tooth… I’d love to try it 🙂
I’d eat both… just sayin’
Vanessa says
I would chose the pie. I would of course have mine with ice cream and whipped cream. I’d like to know how many people really eat either one. I’d love to see somebody make one. That would be cool…but not as cool as eating it.
erica says
cherpumple!!!
i think the turkey cake would throw me off. because it looks like a sweet yummy cake but then it would be salty meal….
Amanda says
Turkey Cake for sure minus the marshmellows
McKenzie says
Cherpumple of-course! The turkey cake reminds me of a Friends episode where Rachel mixed up recipes and put meat in a layered dessert.
Tomorrow I’m going to make the pumpkin spice cookies and I’m very excited! Thanks for posting your recipes. I was actually very inspired by your blog last night and decided to start my own! Thanks again!
Rachel @ Bloomingbuzz says
cherpumple for sure! mostly because, with either choice, my tastebuds would be confused enough without confusing them by sight too. a savory taste that looks like cake (like the turkey cake) might just be too much to handle! 😉
Laura says
Def the Turkey cake….the day after thanksgiving I take turkey, potatoes, stuffing and corn, layer it in a bowl, cover it in gravy, heat it up and chow down.
I absolutely detest cake (I know I know weird right) but pie…omggeeeeee how I loooove pie, I swear if I could have found a way to tier pie I would have made it my wedding “cake” lol
Alicia says
I’m going to have to go with Turkey cake!!!! Its all of my favorite things combined into one and instead of topping it with icecream I’ll top it with loads of gravy!!!! YUM!
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
Cherpumple. Pleases vegans and omnis alike…with a hefty dose of sugar 🙂
Kelly says
Can’t I have both?? I guess if you made me chose I would have to pick the turkey cake!
briana says
I want that cherpumple but I dont wanna make it all!
jen says
Cherpumple definitely!!!! I have a maaaaaaaaaajor sweet tooth, plus I never really crave meat like I do cake! =D
That picture of puppy Sadie is adorable, by the way! I love reading this blog!
Maria says
Omigosh, puppy Sadie! So cute! I’m going to vote for cherpumple, if I had to, but I’d be scared for the sugar coma 😛
Alex says
CHERPUMPLE.
The Turkey Cake reminds me of the Friends episode when Rachel tries to make English Trifle, but she combines it with Shepard’s Pie. Aaaaand, I just puked a little in my mouth again…
Gina says
Cherpumple no doubt! I might be biased since I am a vegetarian but like you said it’s the never ending pie vs. cake debate! Love that you get both in one.
And bring on the ice cream to scoop on top 🙂
Katy (The Singing Runner) says
The cherpumple… I’m a vegetarian so I can’t eat the other one!
But I may die of sugar overload with the cherpumple! 😉 And have a very upset belly.
Virginia @ YtotheUmmy says
blech! in my opinion, savory desserts are NOT okay….sacrilege!
Jenn says
Ooh tough call! I’m assuming the turkey cake is kinda shepherd’s pie-esque so it’s probably tasty but I think I’m with you… cake AND pie in ONE? Sign me up!!
Jessica says
cherpumple!!!! i want to try making that. drooooool
