After an incredible, non-stop weekend in New York City with some of my best girlfriends, I feel like I have so much to share with you guys! It was the perfect weekend filled with festive activities, fantastic food, wonderful holiday drinks and the best company. I want to go back!
Late Friday morning, I met up with my friend Leah at the Tampa airport to fly to New York. Everything went smoothly and after landing and catching a bus and a train, we arrived at my friend Merri’s apartment where we were greeted by my friend Ashley who flew in the day before from Chicago.
Merri had to work until a little after 5 p.m., so Ashley, Leah and I hung out for an hour or so before taking the bus to Rockefeller Center to see the famous Christmas tree and meet up with Merri.
The tree was spectacular!
It was very crowded, so we didn’t stay long, but it was fun to see the tree I’ve seen on television so many times. Quite impressive!
Once we were reunited with Merri near Rockefeller Center, we had plans to meet up with our friend Erin to grab drinks and catch the 7 p.m. show at the Comedy Cellar.
The Comedy Cellar is a small, intimate venue, so we felt like we were right in front of the comedian’s faces. Pictures were not allowed while the comedians were performing but of the six comedians that we saw, five of them were absolutely hysterical.
My abs were burning because I was laughing so hard and their jokes turned into one-liners between our group of girlfriends for the rest of the weekend. I was pretty excited when Colin Quinn from Saturday Night Live took the stage. He was incredibly funny and I would gladly pay to see him again.
After finishing a few bottles of wine and polishing off some food, our group headed to Rolf’s, my new favorite bar on the planet.
This place was decorated from head to toe in Christmas décor.
They take decorating for the holidays to the extreme and it was so incredibly cool.
Since we were surrounded by ornaments, garland, icicles and twinkling lights, we felt immersed in the holiday spirit and ordered several rounds of hot spiced wine and eggnog.
The place was absolutely packed but we were somehow able to snag a few chairs up at the bar which was great.
Our first night in the city was a blast!

Santacon is SUCH a blast!!! You should defintely consider it – it’s really a crazy experience! I wish Julie could have been here for that – I was hoping Santacon was going to fall on the weekend she visited 🙁 Enjoy!!

Rolf’s is such a fire hazard (ha), but a really fun time! They say it takes three weeks to put up all that stuff…

That is too funny!! My best friend lives around the corner and I always say I want to to go in there and she laughs it off. Your awesome Christmas pictures of the inside just make my argument valid! I’ll be there next week! 🙂
