After an incredible, non-stop weekend in New York City with some of my best girlfriends, I feel like I have so much to share with you guys! It was the perfect weekend filled with festive activities, fantastic food, wonderful holiday drinks and the best company. I want to go back!
Late Friday morning, I met up with my friend Leah at the Tampa airport to fly to New York. Everything went smoothly and after landing and catching a bus and a train, we arrived at my friend Merri’s apartment where we were greeted by my friend Ashley who flew in the day before from Chicago.
Merri had to work until a little after 5 p.m., so Ashley, Leah and I hung out for an hour or so before taking the bus to Rockefeller Center to see the famous Christmas tree and meet up with Merri.
The tree was spectacular!
It was very crowded, so we didn’t stay long, but it was fun to see the tree I’ve seen on television so many times. Quite impressive!
Once we were reunited with Merri near Rockefeller Center, we had plans to meet up with our friend Erin to grab drinks and catch the 7 p.m. show at the Comedy Cellar.
The Comedy Cellar is a small, intimate venue, so we felt like we were right in front of the comedian’s faces. Pictures were not allowed while the comedians were performing but of the six comedians that we saw, five of them were absolutely hysterical.
My abs were burning because I was laughing so hard and their jokes turned into one-liners between our group of girlfriends for the rest of the weekend. I was pretty excited when Colin Quinn from Saturday Night Live took the stage. He was incredibly funny and I would gladly pay to see him again.
After finishing a few bottles of wine and polishing off some food, our group headed to Rolf’s, my new favorite bar on the planet.
This place was decorated from head to toe in Christmas décor.
They take decorating for the holidays to the extreme and it was so incredibly cool.
Since we were surrounded by ornaments, garland, icicles and twinkling lights, we felt immersed in the holiday spirit and ordered several rounds of hot spiced wine and eggnog.
The place was absolutely packed but we were somehow able to snag a few chairs up at the bar which was great.
Our first night in the city was a blast!
Oh gosh, that bar looks like so much fun!
Looks like a great start to the weekend! I love NYC so much, especially during the holidays. I can’t wait to hear how the rest of your weekend went. 🙂

I have never been to NYC but really want to go. Christmas would be the best time to go! That bar sounds amazing! They need to bring a bar like that to Atlanta. So FUN!
I would love to go to NYC around Christmas time. How awesome to see that huge tree! We went to fountain square in Cincy this weekend and got pictures with the tree but Im sure the size doesnt compare. Looks like an awesome weekend!
That bar looks like such a Christmas wonderland! I’d be ALL over that. So cool!
Oh how fun!! That bar’s decorations rock!
How fun! That bar looks amazing! I might need to make a holiday visit to NYC one of these days!
I’m so incredibly jealous and love reading about your NYC adventures! New York is my absolute favorite place in the world and even though I’ve been twice, I’m really greedy and want to go back during Christmas time to experience it all!
NYC is the best place to be around the holidays!
That bar is so amazing! I want to decorate like that! LOL
How fun! I was suppose to go to NYC last year for the holidays but couldn’t make it. Your pics have me itching to go this year! 😉
I am 100% completely jealous of your girls trip to NYC, especially at Christmas time!!! NYC at Christmas is on my bucket list and enjoying it with some girlfriends would be even better!!!
Love Rolf’s at Christmas time and LOVE Comedy Cellar! I went to NYU and had gone many times during those days. I’ve seen Colin Quinn and Darrell Hammond there (he was SO funny!). That place never lets me down!
Looks like a lot of fun!
Ah NYC looks GORGEOUS during Christmas time. One of these days we’ll stop going back to DC and make our way up to NYC. You look beautiful and I’m so glad you’re enjoying yourself girl 🙂

You are so lucky! I absolutely love NYC and I bet it is just gorgeous during Christmas time!
I saw this was posted through twitter immediately following my exam and wanted to see it so badly because christmas makes me so happy! But knew that it was going to have that bar which you tweeted a photo in so waited until after when i arrived home with a big screen haha! Just wanted to say a big thank you for cheering me up after a terrible law exam! Looked like a blast and that bar is definitely going on my bucket list!
Awww so glad you had fun here! I’m going in next weekend to see the tree and such 🙂
You girls are all beautiful!! Sounds like so much fun 🙂 I love NYC but I’ve never been there around the holidays – I’d love to see the tree, and the store windows decorated for Christmas, and the Rockettes!
What a lovely weekend! Time with girlfriends is just the best – glad you enjoyed! 🙂
Beautiful bar decor! I would love to see NYC during the holidays. I have only been during the summer.
LOVE that Christmas-y bar! And the dress looks gorgeous this year!
A couple of years ago, my fiance and I went to NYC for Christmas and it was like a DREAM COME TRUE!! I think we may be planning to go again next year after the wedding, and I will make sure to include Rolf’s on the to-do list!! 🙂
NYC is on my bucket list!
I was in NYC this past weekend too! Christmas time in New York is magical!
Oh Rockefeller looks so magical! I just got to London and I am in total awe of the lights- just amazing!
That bar looks AMAZING! We have a bar in downtown Denver that does specialty cocktails for the cold weather months like the Hot Buttered Rum, Liquid Candy Cane, and so many others! I would love to see the big tree and experience Christmas the Big Apple style!
Ooooo what a fun time with your girlfriends! Girlfriendhood is one of the greatest gifts, isn’t it? 😉
Rolf’s looks amazingly festive! I see that it is a German restaurant/bar. Being a history buff/nerd, I know that the Germans were the ones that started the tradition of the Christmas tree and ornaments. Maybe that is why Rolf’s goes all out. Would love to see that in person.
Laughter really is the best medicine for the mind, soul and abs! And that eggnog looked so delicious!
I adore Christmas in New York. I usually make a point to go see my family out there before Christmas every year, but this year it looks like I will live vicariously through your pictures 🙂
I *still* haven’t seen the Rockefeller tree in person yet! Hope to change that this weekend. 🙂
I’d love to go to NY a Christmas.
that place looks spectacular! I would love to be able to visit NYC during the holidays
