Well, all plans to hike or get out of the house today fell through until 4 p.m.
Ryan, Ross and I spent the day wasting away with Sadie and Kona (Ross’ chocolate lab) like five bumps on a log.
We watched Inception, ate burritos and had a great time acting like a bunch of hungover college kids for the day. Well, technically Ross is in his final year of law school, so he is still a student.
Ryan and Ross also spent some time planning their upcoming hiking trip and trying out some gear.
Sadie wanted in!
While the boys planned their trip, I did some baking and made some granola bars in mini loaf pans.
They tasted great, but didn’t really hold together. My granola bars were more like plain granola in the end.
Eventually we channeled some motivation to remove our butts from the couch and head to the dog park for an hour of puppy playtime with Sadie and Kona.
Remember puppy Kona? Hasn’t she turned into the most beautiful dog?
Kona has mad fetch skills. She managed to fetch both a ball and a frisbee at one time!
Sadie also has some skills… but they involve fetching and dropping the ball a good 500 feet from where you actually want it.
After our time at the dog park, our little gang came home and we all showered before heading back out to Baldwin Park to meet up with some friends for sushi at Seito.
High ponytail + headband = Guess who definitely didn’t wash her hair today?
Once we arrived, Ryan and I ordered garlic and lime edamame to share while we perused the menu.
I also had a cup of miso soup while waiting for our entrées.
Ryan and I decided to share a bunch of different items from the menu as our main course, including a rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll and teriyaki chicken.
Everything was excellent.
After dinner, Ryan, Ross, Merri and I decided to run into Publix for a little treat…
Everyone was craving cookies and cream milkshakes (myself included), but since I gave up sweets (more like desserts) for Lent, I had to abstain. When Ross, Ryan, Merri and I arrived back at our apartment, they enjoyed their shakes while I enjoyed two hot Pillsbury cinnamon rolls (a breakfast food, not a sweet in my opinion)! They were fantastic and perfectly doughy.
I’m typing this post from my bed and my eyes are about to close. It’s time to sleep! Goodnight!
P.S. The Fashion page was updated this evening!

That white shirt is adorable! 🙂

I was going to comment on how adorable the puppies were and then I got totally distracted by your orange shorts! So cute! Mind sharing where they’re from?
I love edamame but I’ve never seen a gussied up option; garlic and lime sounds great.
Rachel @ The Perseverance Diaries says
I loveeee that white shirt you are wearing! So cute. I’m jealous of your tan lines, haha. It’s about time I start workin’ on my tan but NYC seems to want to stay cold all the time.
garlic + lime edamame? Yum! 🙂
Kristina says
oh my lord your white top is amazing and I need it…Right. Now. Where is it from!?
Seems like you are having a great weekend so far!
Presley says
If cinnamon rolls were sweets, my whole view on life would change! What would be next?? Pancakes?
peanutbutterfingers says
I like the way you think!
Imwaytoobusy says
Oh, that white shirt better be on the fashion page! Love it 😉
Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries says
You look mighty nice for a girl who skipped a hair wash! 🙂 I love a good old I-feel-like-I’m-in-college-again hang over day. A few times a year, it feels good to bad 🙂
Shell says
Shorts!!! You rocked the shorts! Love ’em! Your legs look a-ma-zing too!
carlee says
Just a quick question!? Do you ever have those days where you go like WAYY over your calorie limits, like in the 3000? Do you care if its just one day?
BTW! You are so beautiful! I LOVED the black dress from this morning and your orange shorts!
I think you look good in shorts, even if you don’t think so! 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
Yes I definitely do… usually on the weekend. I let myself feel blah for a bit, but try to hop right back on the healthy living train the next day.
Khushboo says
Cute outfit! Sushi and dessert (or in your case ‘breakfast’) sound like the perfect end to a lazy day ..or any day for that matter ;)!
Lauren says
Okay please update your fashion page with this white/orange getup because I’m having anxiety right now that this outfit is NOT in my closet! 🙂
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Sadie’s fetching skills sounds like my dog’s. He’ll fetch it, then carry it off further. 😛
Lauren says
That jumping picture of Kona is awesome! I love the high ponytail + headband trick when my hair isn’t looking great 🙂

Sadie and Kona make quite a gorgeous doggie duo!
I love the orange shorts + white top and high ponytail/headband look. Very cute and very chic!
Pillsbury cinnamon rolls were a childhood staple…They’re so moist, gooey and delicious. I need them back in my life!

Glad you had a great day, even if it was different than the original plan!!! 😀
Cait @ Beyond Bananas says
Oh how I miss those lazy, hungover college days! I love the pictures of Kona and Sadie… they are making me miss my dogs so much! Since I moved out of my parents house, I rarely get to see them. I may just have to convince the bf that we are “ready!”
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Your dinner looks fabulous! I’m not a huge sushi fan but the rolls look so pretty!
Jenna-Marie says
Your hair looks adorable like that! I do the same when I neglect to wash my hair lol. Such a cute outfit too. Lime and garlic edamame? sounds delicious!
katie says
I can never resist those cinnamon rolls either, especially fresh out of the oven and the ooey gooey center is the BEST part!
U look adorable, and the sushi looks so good too!
Laura @ LauraLikesDesign says
Sounds like a fun weekend! You always have the cutest outfits! I can definitely testify to the fact that headbands are lifesavers on days when you don’t wash your hair!

Ellen says

I was hoping you didn’t pass up the cinnamon rolls! Pillsbury are the best! I’ve tried making them from scratch a few times, but they never came out as good as Pillbury! 😉
Have a great Sunday!
Sarah says
Looks like fun! My husband loves those cinnamon rolls, they are hard to resist.
Sarah @ The Pajama Chef says

Hope says
Looks like a fun day/night! I love your outfit! It’s super cute. I totally rock the high ponytail too when I don’t feel like washing my hair 🙂
Caroline says
Firstly, I seriously cannot stand how cute Sadie is! I love how she’s smaller than the normal Vizsla too; the little runts are always cuter! 🙂
2ndly, LOVE sportin the high pony + headband too on my lazy (aka non-washing) hair days too! You look super cute w/it!
Lastly, looks like you had a great weekend. It’s fun to relive the “college” days every so often … but now that’s it’s Sunday, that means tomorrow’s Monday … back to the real world! Ugh! Haha 🙂
Have a good Sunday!
Sherry says
Looks like you had a great day!! Lazy days are the best sometimes! I love Sadie she’s too cute!! My dog Daisy, she’s a boxer, has fetching problems too. She will run and get the ball and even bring it back, but she won’t drop the ball. She likes to play tug-o-war with it unless we act like we don’t want it then she’ll drop it. It’s hilarious!!
Love the hair and outfit of course, as well as everyone else 😉
Holly says
Mmmmm I LOVE Seito…they have some of the best sushi in Orlando 🙂
& I love Publix ice cream..I honestly think it is better than real name brand stuff. SO good! After Lent, you should try the blueberry crumble ice cream (I think that’s what it’s called- it’s actually light ice cream, but you would never know..it’s sooo good! huge hunks of blueberries & graham cracker crusts chunks..YUM)
peanutbutterfingers says
That sounds fantastic!
Kelly says
I swear the pillsbury cinnamon rolls taste better than homemade! haha!!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
This looks like so much fun! I love sushi and spicy tuna is probably my favourite roll ever! I hope you got a good sleep last night. 🙂
Amber K says
Hmm I’d consider a milkshake to be better than a cinnamon roll personally lol. At least there are nutrients like protein and calcium! But whatever wets your noodle. Love the ponytail/headband look! Looks fun and relaxed.
peanutbutterfingers says
Well I gave up sweets for Lent, so milkshakes were out. 🙁
Amber K says
ahh, see I think cinnamon rolls are sweeter with less nutrients. But like I said, it’s whatever works for you 🙂
lisa says
edamame<33 I could totally eat salted edamame as an entree. in fact why not? protein, fiber, and veggies all in ONE!! 🙂
mel says
Puppy Kona is my choc puppy Bella!! They look identical. Bella is a crazy horse though!! Looks so fun!!
Ben @ ShirtlessBen says
MMMM I love edamame. For some reason I cant find them not shelled at stores, such a bummer it would be a great snack during the day.
Molly says
1. obesseed with that shirt!
2. Kona is identical to my dog!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love your outfit/shirt! Sorry about the treat–but cinnamon roll is a great way to fix that!!
P.s. I LOVE edamame–good choice 🙂
gabriella @ embracement says
Sometimes nothing is better than laying on the couch all day and reliving those college days. You look adorable in that outfit.
Kristen says
love the high pony and headband!
Cynthia says
Okay, cinnamon rolls are definitely a sweet. Just because they can be eaten for breakfast doesn’t make them any less of a sweet. Sounds like someone is trying to justify eating sweets . . . 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
I qualified “sweets” as traditional dessert foods, so for me it was okay! 🙂
Allison @ Happy Tales says
Haaaa i love that I’m not the only one who needs time to recoup after a big night out. Last night we had a celebratory night (i just got accepted to the 2nd best public health school in the country!) and had wayyyyyy to much fun (aaaahem, alcohol) out on the town. I know i know, so ironic seeing as I’m pursuing public health… but do as I say, not as I do… right? I was on the couch til 1PM! At least i didn’t have to work today 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
Congratulations!!!! That’s fantastic news!!
