If you are the kind of baker who doesn’t make a mess in the kitchen, then shield your eyes from the HORROR!
I really try to clean as I go when I bake, but today I was multitasking and making a bunch of different desserts at once, eating lunch and talking with my mom and grandma, so cleaning wasn’t a priority.
Snacking on enough dough to cause me to go into a sugar coma apparently was a priority.
Hello, S’mores Cookie Bars!
But the baking is nearly done! Only one more batch of cookies to go!
I’m also in the middle of prepping the sweet potato casserole for tomorrow.
I am following this recipe from Cooking Light and it’s one of my all-time favorites. My sister and I made it for our Friendsgiving feast and it was a hit so we’re making it again!
Along with tons of baking, today was also filled with lots of crafting.
Turkey Trot hats are nearly done! They just need some feathers.
Back into the kitchen I go!

I am e-mailing Meredith pictures of Willow now! I cannot wait for the portrait, and will have to e-mail a picture of it 🙂
Thank you again Julie!
All baked goods taste better when you’ve made a mess in the kitchen. Chaos must be linked to flavour somehow 🙂
What a perfect winner! That’s so amazing!
You had me at the word s’mores. I must make that. And I can’t wait to see the entire turkey trot costume. It’s so fun to see it come together.
I can totally relate – one of the reasons why I don’t bake much is because I end up making a total mess! And those Turkey Trot hats look so freaking adorable.
My kitchen looked the same this afternoon! I’m glad I’m not the only one that over-did it on the sugary samples today! I was thinking “Ah, why did I eat so much the day before Thanksgiving?!” haha Oh well too late now! 😉
Can’t wait to see that outfit! I just finished making 3 side dishes for tomorrow and my husband came home in the middle of it all and was like “what HAPPENED in here?” haha Oops.
Oh my gosh those hats are adorable!!
And don’t worry, my kitchen looked about the same today!
S’more bars??…or any kind of smores which don’t require camping- oh my!
I love those Turkey hats! Have a great Thanksgiving!
I am SO messy when I attempt to cook and even more so when I bake! S’mores bars sound awesome!!
That looks exactly like a scene out of my kitchen even when I’m not multitasking like mad! It’s an illness I think! 😉 I’m actually incapable of keeping it tidy! Ha! Happy thanksgiving! 🙂
There is no way I can ever be clean while in the kitchen. I’m the sloppiest cook/baker!! Everything looks yum. Those hats are super cute!
