The hype surrounding our upcoming cruise is growing among our group of friends at an exponential rate.
Last night Ryan’s cousin Daniel sent out a lengthy email that almost made me pee my pants from laughing so hard this morning.
Sadie literally walked into our home office as I was cracking up and gave me a blank stare as if to say, “What in the world is going on in here and why am I not a part of the fun?”
Daniel’s email included cruise predictions and MVP forecasts among other random anecdotes.
Confused?
Let me break it down…
Cruise Predictions
The cruise predictions detailed Daniel’s forecast for the ridiculous behavior and crazy shenanigans that will occur on the cruise.
There was one particular prediction that I think you guys may get a kick out of since it applies to the blog…
Should be a good time.
And in case you’re unfamiliar with what exactly a “yard” is, here’s a little glimpse…
Cruise MVP
The MVP forecast in Daniel’s email dates back to cruises from years past.
Daniel actually had a Cruise MVP trophy professionally made for previous cruises. Based upon a group vote, the person who “brings the most heat” aboard the cruise is awarded the Cruise MVP.
On our previous cruise in September 2009, the Cruise MVP went to the whole group (it was an awesome cruise!), but this year we’re hoping to actually have one winner.
Daniel (and my) money is on my friend Laurel…
Laurel is the one who got the ball rolling on the whole cruise idea in the first place and is always a good time!
Okay, I think I got all the cruise talk out of my system and I promise not to talk about the cruise again today. Thanks for baring with me. I’m just getting way too excited and the growing enthusiasm from my friends is pumping me up even more!
Lunch
Today’s lunch came together in a flash.
I added some avocado and bunch of shredded chicken from last night’s dinner to a Tupperware container filled with some of the fresh salsa I made on Sunday.
I found myself gravitating toward any bite with avocado in it. So good!
I also ate a cup of strawberry Greek yogurt for some sweetness.
Off to be productive…

My most memorable friend time moment was at a friends wedding. Clearly, I’ve been to tons of weddings but this one stands out as we all had a dance off, there may have been spinning on heads, slidding on knees and spilling wine on the bride. My husband got the award for party animal when he broke his ankle “break dancing”… oh the memories!
Have a blast on the cruise Julie!
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says

Alex @ therunwithin says
The cruise is going to be a blast. You should all make lists like that – or maybe even a bucket list of your cruise. Those always make trips more fun! (Even though I doubt you need it!)
Mrs Type A says
I miss all my weekends with my law school friends. We all just had standing plans going out every weekend and had the best time. There were many drunken days spent at the pool and many tailgates. Sigh!
Alysha @Shesontherun says
It sounds SO LAME now, but our high school band trips to florida were a blast. All my friends were in band and we got to cruise Disney, Sea World and Universal Studios without hardly any adult supervision. Now that a lot of us are living in different states or are married/have kids, it’s nice to look back on those trips of complete freedom.
Stephanie says
Your cruise sounds like a ton of fun!
Every year, starting back in 2006, my friends and I have rented beach houses in North Carolina and planned a week-long vacation there. We pool our money and buy food for the week, beer and booze, and we share in the responsibilities of the house (i.e. cleaning, cooking, etc). It takes 3-4 months to plan every year, all volunteer time. The first year we had 28 people, now we’re usually in the mid-upper 60s each year! The core group of friends was my husband’s college crew, and then everyone just kind of brings in new people every year. My best friend from HS goes now, and some of our local friends are also going this year.
It is a blast and often leads to some of the best memories.
Amy @Health Hungry says
Ok, LOL for real at that beer! And I’m giggling at the email too… Best memories with friends involves a MN lake, pontoon, sunshine, and cocktails! I LOVE summer on a pontoon! I’m not sure about the cruise ship – but I’m excited to see your adventures 🙂

This is awesome! It’s so great that your friends were able to get together to book something – I always find it so difficult to find the right time/price for a big group, so thanks for the inspiration 😉
And that lunch! OMG that looks incredible. And this is coming from a girl who is allergic to avocado…
Mandi says
Favorite memory with my group of friends…in college there was a group of girls who lived in one house (myself included) and a group of guys who lived in another house about 5 miles down the road. We were in a full on prank battle. The guys rolled our house so we snuck in to their house while they were gone and stole every single scrap of toilet paper, paper towel, kleenex, napkin, EVERYTHING. Then to retaliate they snuck in to our house while we were gone and stole our mattresses and drove them to another friend’s house who lived over an hour away! Good times.
Have fun on your cruise! I’ve never been but I’m going in November with my hubby!
Angela @ Health, Happiness & Harmony says

Hillary says
A good, successful trip = one where very few pictures are blog/FB worthy. Go get ’em, Julie!
Jennifer says
Your cruise sounds like tons of fun. Our favorite trips are camping with the same 30 people every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day for the past 15 years.
It is always wonderful with lots of ATVing, fishing, bow hunting (over Labor Day), cooking contests and of course, tons of beer and beer games.
I love that everyone’s kids look forward to it as much as the adults and my adults kids have started going with their kids now.
Sarah @ RunningChickago says
haha love the predictions! too funny.
your lunch looks so delicious! definitely going to be making that in the near future. i’ve been craving avocados, and this seems like a great way to have them 🙂
Jentry Nielsen says

That is hilarious about the blogging pictures!
A group of us went to Lake Powell last year and camped on the beach. It was so much fun we’ve decided to make it a yearly trip, and we want to try switching up beaches!
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
Omg I’m so excited for you guys! have the best time!!
Brianna @ Don't Eat Crap says
You get the best photos of Sadie. I wish I knew how to get better photos of Buster the Puggle.
Laura @ Backstage Balance says
Too funny! Looks like you guys are going to have an awesome time.
Does ‘brings the most heat’ mean there are automatic points for the person who sneaks the most booze onto the cruise in their ‘water bottles’?
janet says
The light reflecting on Sadie’s whiskers is amazing!
Chelsea says
Senior prom was the most amazing night with my friends. Such a blast! Followed by an even more amazing weekend in Austin at a lake house!
But on another note I’m the same way with salads! Gimme the avocado, mmm.
Brittney says
In my public speaking class today, a girl did her persuasive speech on why everyone should go on a cruise. I want to go now!
