A double jacket!
White pea coat on top of a black blazer. It’s cold in Orlando today!
I heard a woman at the gym say that Florida and Hawaii are the only two states in the U.S. that don’t have snow today. Eek! Hope you guys are staying warm.
Ryan, Sadie and I made sure to stay as warm as possible on our brisk morning walk.
I had several layers on and was still a bit chilly!
On our walk, I brainstormed crock pot dinner recipe ideas because this frigid weather warrants some hot food. I think I came up with a good one, so stay tuned tonight!
Once we arrived home, I prepped dinner in the crock pot before hopping in the shower.
The hot water felt fantastic and getting ready to a lil’ Britney Spears put me in a good mood.
I think Sadie prefers Justin Timberlake…
Breakfast
Once I was all ready, it was time for some breakfast. Since I was nice and warm from the hot shower and blow-drying my hair, a cold breakfast actually sounded okay.
I really wanted to incorporate some tasty cereal into my morning meal and figured topping a cup of Greek yogurt with the crunchy flakes would be a great way to enjoy a well-rounded breakfast.
The cereal I used in my yogurt bowl is cereal that I personally created! After being contacted by Me & Goji, a cereal company that allows consumers to create their own cereal by choosing various bases and mix ins, I was super excited to make the cereal of my dreams!
I named my cereal “Eat Me!”
I actually didn’t pay much attention to the nutrition facts as I was creating my cereal, but when it arrived in the mail, I was pretty darn impressed with the nutritional breakdown of the mix I created. Great combination of fats, carbs and protein!
My cereal contained:
- Artisanal cereal (multigrain oat bran flakes, raw spelt flakes, raw barley flakes, raw rye flakes, wheat germ and amaranth)
- Pecans
- Pistachios
- Cacao nibs
- Chia seeds
- Unsweetened coconut
All natural foods, all totally delicious.
EDITED TO ADD: The folks at Me & Goji are now offering 10% off orders with the coupon code SNOWEDIN. Hope you enjoy!
Off to work! Stay warm out there!
I will totally share some snow to go along with your cold weather down there 😉 haha!
That is THE most ADORABLE picture of Sadie ever. Oh my gosh please frame that, haha!
What a sweet cereal mix! I bet it was exciting to create, too 😀
Enjoy your day!
Yum that cereal looks delicious! I LOVE Pistacios! Up here in MA we arleady have 12″+ of snow and its supposed to keep going until 8pm tonight! We should have close to 2 feet by the time it stops!!! It sure is cold today!
Actually, Hawaii does have snow! So you Floridians are the snowless wonders of the US.
Whoa! I want to make my own cereal!!! Can’t wait to check it out!!!
P.S. Sadie is so stinkin’ cute!
Man I wish I was in Florida…I’m up in the northeast and we’re getting hammered with snow. We’re supposed to get between 12 and 18 inches 😮
Hawaii has snow on the mountaintops!! I have to say though that after THREE snowstorms in the past three weeks, I’m excited to get to FL tonight!
That’s awesome about being able to create your own & have them put it on the packaging! I’d be super excited too! And it’s well balanced too!
It’s freezing here too (MI)!!! My family that lives in Florida are even surprised about the cold and they are from the north! Bundle up, stay warm and looking forward to hearing about your crock pot meal!
i love that cereal combo! I remember when I found that website, I spent plenty of time creating my own mixes, but never bought them.
It’s so crazy that there are only two states without snow. I am in the lake tahoe, nevada area….so we definitely have snow.
You lucky duck!
Your cereal combo sounds awesome!
“Eat Me” – haha, I love it! Sounds like a great name for marketing the cereal!!
Cool concept with creating your own cereal mix but man are they expensive!! Kind of makes me want to create my own with some of the stuff in my own pantry….wheels are turning…
As always, LOVE the Sadie captions! ♥
Your breakfast looks great and I love the cereal. Looks tasty!
“Eat Me” Too funny 🙂
Now we are the only state! It’s still freezing though (for me). I wore shorts to the gym because I didn’t look at the forecast and practically sprinted to the door!
Love the concept of creating own cereal! That is amazing!
That make your own cereal thing is so cool!
I just went to Me & Goji and made my own cereal mix! I can’t wait to eat my creation up!!
You are so lucky that you don’t have to deal with snow! I wish we didn’t have snow here! It made getting to work this morning a bit of a hassle. That is so cool that you were able to create your own cereal!!!! I’d LOVE to do that!!! 🙂
That cereal sounds awesome. I have never heard of creating your own before. How fun!
I love the name of that cereal! All the ingredients look amazing too! I want to go to Me & Gogi right now and mix some up too!
I want to make my own cereal! This would be fun to do your own by hitting up the bulk section at the organic grocery store!
I LOVE making my own cereal and granola! I’m obsessed with mixmygranola.com.
another love? cereal on top of my yogurt. 🙂 that texture combo just can’t be topped!
The snow hasn’t been too bad here but it is definitely cold! I need double layers, too!!
I love the idea of create your own granola! Its great for picky eaters like myself 🙂
Mmm, I’ve been wanting to “Mix my own” cereal for a while now. That sounds so good!
I would give you guys are hard time about it “being cold,” but I’m a wimp when the temps hit 90, so I can’t really talk!
My husband and I have been to the top of the mountains in Hawaii and it is absolutely FREEZING up there… I wouldn’t be surprised if there is snow up there!
I’m in Southeast Texas – no snow – THANK YOU! I am not a fan.
The only two states w/o snow?! really?! WOW! That’s crazy!!
Love your cereal! I might have to look into that myself.
Someone already mentioned this, but actually Hawaii does have snow! They have snow year round at the top of Mauna Kea on the big island. When I went last spring, we had to wear parkas to visit the peak!
Wahhh. Double layers = story of my LIFE this week. I don’t think it’s gotten above freezing (maybe once?) My boyfriend has had 2 snowdays in a row. I on the otherhand am only paid hourly and my workplaces NEVER closes (we brought in the homeless to let the shower) so I had to be in at work. Loved it though… so humbling!
Anywho, so cool about the cereal! I wanna try that!
Also! Wanted to let you know I dubbed you with a sylish blogger! I think it marked my comment as spam last time– so sorry about that! I’m a newbie and I don’t really know the rules yet. Eek!
Oh I love how you made your own cereal! I’ve been on a website where I could do that and put a creation together just for fun and I should’ve clicked on the purchase button too!
I’ve been wanting to try that cereal thing, now I have too! I love how Sadie really seems to pose for the camera depending on her mood.
Lucky girl on the cereal! I’d love to make my own. I think these personalized cereals would make great gifts too!
I have seen that cereal thing before…looks good! Just wondering, what time do you have to be at work ?!?!?! I always wondered that when reading all about your morning workouts AND walks! 8:12am and still getting ready…that explains a lot!
9 a.m. – but i’m usually there by 8:40 a.m. i live less than 2 mi. from my office.
Oh that’s lucky! I have an hr commute and usually get to work by 7:30am…I force myself to go to the gym in the evening, but it’s always so busy then! I always wonder if I could work out in the morning, but it’s a struggle to get up any earlier then 5:30am! BTW, love the blog and have been reading for a yr or so now…never commented but just had to after I saw that digital clock! haha
Exact story of my life. Hour and 15 from my office, at work by 10 after 8, getting up before 5:30 is painful!
Actually Florida is the only state without snow. Hawaii has commercial skiing and they actually get snow every year. Stay warm! 🙂 Here in GA, we still have snow and ice everywhere and the temps are below freezing.
I’m in love with your dog! Sadie is adorable with her little housecoat…my little pup pup does not like getting out of bed in this cold weather, and I bet it’s because he needs a housecoat!
Is that the Evo? Are you loving it?
That is the cutest picture of Sadie!!!! The cereal looks good! I would kill that entire container in one sitting. Cereal is dangerous for me! 🙂
You got to create your own cereal. Thats amazing!
Thanks Julie for the great post and to all her readers for the wonderful comments!
We’re snowed in today up in the Northeast. Since most of your readers in that area are probably bored at home searching the web for entertainment, we’d like to offer them a coupon code for 10% off. SNOWEDIN. Be sure to act quickly, this coupon turns to slush tomorrow! 😉
Whenever I post a winter/snow post, I always think of Florida bloggers and how different it is, but it seems thats not so lately! You guys seem to be just as cold as we feel, minus all the feet of snow 🙂 I really want to try Goji and Me but never want to spend the money…one of these days I’m going to splurge 🙂
Sadie is SO cute! What kind of dog is she?
Ha! I love the double rainbow reference…classic 🙂 and I might be a little jealous you rocked out to Britney this morning…I can’t help but love her music!
That is too cool that you got to make your own cereal! I would love to do that.
I love customizable things like “make your own cereal” and I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only blogger who will publicly admit to loving Britney Spears. 😉
omg I love that you made your own cereal! Thats aweome….and another amazing photo of your pups 🙂
