Happy One Day ‘Til Friday! Weee!
My day began the easy-breezy way with a very light workout at the gym. Ryan and I hopped on side-by-side ellipticals to pound out some cardio and about 10 minutes into my workout, I remembered that I am participating in a 5k tonight! The race is taking place in downtown Orlando and 15,000 people are expected to be running. It’s a corporate 5k, so companies all over Central Florida have created teams within their offices.
Since I was already at the gym and didn’t want to leave without Ryan, I spent a total of 30 minutes on the elliptical and kept things very light so I’ll have plenty of energy for tonight’s race.
I selected a magazine from the magazine rack and zoned out while peddling away.
Orlando Leisure from April 2004? Can you tell there were slim pickings today?
The magazine managed to keep me amused, especially when I stumbled upon a fashion article, subtitled “timeless elegance.”
Someone please tell me what it is about this outfit that says “timeless elegance” because I am at a loss.
I’m pretty sure JWoww would be all over that little number.
Breakfast
After my not-so-sweaty gym session, I came home, took Sadie on a quick walk, showered and headed into the kitchen.
I popped a Thomas’ cinnamon raisin bagel thin in the toaster and let it brown while I sliced a frozen banana.
I topped the toasted bagel with a smear of peanut butter, banana slices, nutmeg and chia seeds.
My grandma knit that blue pot holder that I used as my napkin. She’s so talented! She’s also the mastermind behind a scarf that once appeared on the Fashion page.
This breakfast hit the spot! I’m not gonna lie though… I kind of missed my usual smoothie.
Time for work. I have a package to drop off at UPS, so I gotta boogie!
Stay tuned for an amazing guest post this afternoon. If you love to travel (especially to Europe) I have a feeling you’re gonna love it!
Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life says
Oh gosh…elegant?? That’s classic! 🙂
Meg says
How exciting! A work 5k? You’re gonna rockkkk it!
I LOVE old magazines, haha! When you see “2004” you don’t really realize how long ago that really was! Yowza!
Enjoy your day!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Hahah gotta love that outfit LOL! Isn’t it funny what magazines publish as the newest trends sometimes?? Good luck for your 5km tonight!
Jamie aka "Sometimes Healthy" Girl says
Wow…timeless elegance?? That is hilarious. I think old magazines are so fun to read sometimes. Wonder if we’ll be laughing at what we were wearing 10 years from now 🙂

Khushboo says
Good luck w the 5k! Are you aiming for a PB or just doing it for fun? Hope you have a nice carby lunch in store. Looking fwd to the guest post…
peanutbutterfingers says
just for fun. when i did it a couple of years ago, the race was SO crowded that you couldn’t even run for the first 1.5 miles.
Anne @thefitbridesmaid says
Woo hoo for the corporate 5k. The Corporate Challenge in Boston was just announced, and unfortunately I can’t do it this year. I just happen to be flying back from my honeymoon in Hawaii that day. Darn! Good luck tonight!
Cait @ Beyond Bananas says
I love how you and Ryan are doing cardio together now. I used to hate using equipment right next to my boyfriend.. (we ususally run… so we can’t chate as much) … I would go to the OTHER side of the cardio area. Now we are doing it side by side. As weird as it sounds it brings up closer!
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
We had the same breakfast! I was thinking of your bagelwiches this morning and decided to make one with banana and PB and aha you made one too!
That outfit is hysterical.
Carmel says
Have you ever tried a smoothie bowl with kefir? I started making mine with coconut kefir, frozen banana, strawberry and chocolate protein powder and it makes it soooo creamy and delicious.
peanutbutterfingers says
no! what is it?
Carmel says

I can’t wait for the guest post. My mom is taking me on a mother-daughter trip to London this September and I am PUMPED!!
Brooke says
Ahh my mom makes those! We always used them as dish rags to clean dishes. They work great but you can’t really use them as long as sponges and such. I love when she makes me the bright colored ones though! Enough about dish clothes…GOOD LUCK TONIGHT!! Woooo!!!!
Hope says
That outfit is definitely NOT elegant! Haha! Good luck running tonight! 🙂
Holly says
I was going to run it tonight too, but our office was too late registering..typical- lol! But it is PACKED down there already- I’m sure you have seen all of the tents & port-o potties down there. Nuts! I’m actually going to try to skip out of my office a bit early today so that I can miss all of the traffic- I know it’s going to be CRAZY!
Good Luck! 🙂
Katie says
Your breakfast looked so yummy! I’m so excited for this next post! I leave for Europe in a MONTH!!!!!! 😀
Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food says
oh I am excited! my husband and I had a two week trip to greece planned a few years back. Unfortunately, my father’s illness worsened and we cancelled. Hopefully we can get there sometime in the not so distant future! I look forward to traveling vicariously through your posts! 🙂
Good luck in the 5K! 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
oh i hope you can reschedule your trip. greece sounds amazing!
Caroline says
Umm isn’t that JWoww in the pink? Too funny 🙂
I have recently become a magazine-subscription-junkie, so usually I’m prepared for the gym when I do cardio that allows me to read! My 2 favorites are: Oxygen mag & then my guilty pleasure: Us Weekly! What’s your favorite? (besides Orlando Leisure!)
Good luck tonight!
PS – super cute you and your man workout together … my fiance and I always GO together, but we split up and do different things after arriving. #kindajealous 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
haha we split up too… just the first 20 min. of cardio are done together b/c ryan’s new goal is to incorporate more cardio into his routine. 🙂
my fav magazines are oxygen, clean eating, cooking light, us weekly, health, fitness… okay, so i love a bazillion!
Sarah @ The Pajama Chef says

Haha! I love that. When was that EVER considered elegant? Too funny.

Well, the outfit DOES correspond to the world’s oldest profession. And that’s pretty timeless in my books!
peanutbutterfingers says

HAHA @ “Timeless Elegance” ensembles, that made me laugh when I read that. 2004 seems so long ago, I am pretty sure in 2004 I was still rockin’ Hollister like it was my job.
Good luck with your 5K tonight, have fun! Bet the weather is gorgeous. (I’m from Jupiter, FL, live in NYC now…I miss that warm weather soo much)

I think they’re confusing the term “timeless” with “there’s never a time” to wear this 🙂
Good luck on your 5K!

Um, yeah. That outfit scares me. Timeless hideousness?! haha, weird! Good luck on your race 🙂
Angela @ My Pinky Toes says
