Yesterday I mentioned a fast-paced upper body workout on the blog that I did following my morning indoor cycling class. Today I’m stopping by the blog on my short lunch break to share it with you guys!
This workout targets all of the major muscle groups in the upper body and moves quickly thanks to supersets (the pairing of two exercises back-to-back with no rest).
(And yes, I couldn’t resist using the holiday graphics available in PicMonkey to create the above image.)
Links to demos of some of the exercises:
- Incline push ups
- Single leg tricep dips (10 with each leg raised for a total of 20)
- Mac raises
- Plank row
- Tricep push down
- Bicep hammer curls
- Dumbbell row
This workout can easily be completed at home if you have a set of dumbbells – just substitute tricep extensions for the tricep push downs!
Additional Upper Body/Arm Workouts:
Most festive workout image ever! It’s too cute. Thanks for the workout! It’s awesome that you are getting back into weight training.
haha i couldn’t resist! 🙂
Ha I love the holiday theme!! Looks like a great workout, supersets are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Great workout! I love all the festive graphics ;). It’s that time of year again- WOO!
Hey Julie!
I was just telling my coworker about that article about the guy trying pure barre for the first time, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Do you remember the article name?
Thanks!
I’ve been on the lookout for a good upper body circuit. I always feel lost when I’m about to work my upper body at the gym. Like, I remember bicep curls and dips and then I go blank! PS. Love the holiday theme.
I really like doing upper-body workouts and pairing this with some cardio is a perfect way to be active. Good work on the holiday graphics! 🙂
Loving the christmas graphics!! haha
Thanks for sharing! I always want to do some arm work when I spin or run to work the whole body.
I will definitely be trying that workout out next time I’m at the gym (when I need a break from body pump!) Love the festive graphics!
Looks like a great workout. I’ll have to try it this weekend.
This looks so fun, I’ll have to give it a shot this week. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I haven’t seen the holiday PicMonkey canvas yet. Super cute!
Can’t wait to try these exercises out!! I’ve been trying so hard to define my arms and build up my shoulders
Thank you for putting this together! I can’t wait to try it out. I was just thinking last night how I needed to start working on improving my muscle tone in my arms so this came at the perfect time!
Which do you like better, personal training or group fitness?
i personally prefer teaching but training is fun, too! they’re just very, very different.
Love this workout julie!! thanks for the cute graphic too!
This is great! I get so bored with most upper body workouts, so I love trying new combinations 🙂
Love the Christmas-y graphic! So festive 🙂 I like to superset many of my strength training sessions too in an effort to maximize my sessions since I tend to have 40 minutes before getting ready for work. Thanks for some good exercise ideas to mix it up and keep it interesting.
