Something occurred in the gym today that’s never occurred before.
I fell asleep.
The weirdest thing is that I awoke this morning feeling completely rested. Ryan and I were up late talking about a lot of potential changes in our lives, and this morning when the alarm went off, I felt like I woke up deep in thought and ready to tackle the world!
After 25 minutes of cardio on the treadmill (I did this workout), I decided to forgo my initial plans of completing a total of 50 minutes of cardio in favor of taking a yoga class.
The class was relaxing. It wasn’t too hard and I didn’t really sweat. I simply stretched my body and relaxed my mind, which felt great.
At the end of the class when we were laying in savasana, my mind wandered and I actually dozed off! Since I wasn’t feeling tired at all this morning, I can only guess that I fell asleep because my mind was finally at peace after it had been running non-stop last night. I think I was only asleep for a minute or two, but I awoke totally shocked that I actually managed to fall asleep. I never thought that would happen!
Breakfast
After yoga, a quick walk with Sadie and a fast shower, I was ready for breakfast!
On the menu this morning: Strawberry ice cream!
Okay, not really, but it was smooth, cold, thick and creamy. Plus, it was a heck of a lot healthier than ice cream, making it a perfectly wonderful way to start my day.
I made my strawberry “ice cream” by first blending one cup of frozen strawberries with a tiny splash of almond milk in the Vitamix. (I’m tellin’ ya, this blender is a champ!) I then added one 6-ounce container of plain Greek yogurt and a tablespoon of honey to the mix and blended away.
I was really impressed with this concoction! I topped my “ice cream” with strawberry and apple cereal puffs and chia seeds and dug in!
I gobbled this up like it was goin’ out of style!
