Good morning! I hope you guys are enjoying a fabulous weekend!
Between the SHINE Women’s Conference on Thursday and Friday and my AFAA Group Exercise Certification course yesterday, I feel like I haven’t had much computer time with you guys! Friday was the final day of SHINE and we all agreed that it was fabulous. On Thursday night they opened with “Oh Happy Day!” and I basically freaked out. That song is so fabulous.
SHINE was the first Christian women’s conference I’ve ever attended and I have only good things to say about it. I am still very much growing in my personal journey and am glad I was able to attend the conference with my mom and sister and my sister’s boyfriend’s mom and sister. We had such a warm group and I loved listening to the various speakers with such kind, loving women.
Yesterday I spent the day at an AFAA Group Exercise Certification workshop and will know the results from the practical and written exams within four to six weeks. I think it went really well and I’ll be sure to share more about the experience on the blog soon.
And now I have something to share with you guys that I think many of you will enjoy, especially those of you who are on the go a lot, don’t have a gym membership or prefer to work out at home.
FitnessGlo
In between the conference sessions on Friday, we had a two-hour break and since were all feeling a little antsy from sitting for most of the day, we decided to do an at-home workout. I plugged my computer into the television and my sister and I spent some time on the FitnessGlo website selecting a workout we thought we all might enjoy from the various videos available on the site.
I first learned about FitnessGlo through a partnership with FitFluential and was immediately impressed with the workout videos on the site. There are tons! (Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are 100 percent my own. I loved this site!)
FitnessGlo is a website created for women by women with busy women in mind. The website features workout videos with varying intensities from level one (On My Way) to level three (Good to Glo). Their videos last anywhere from five to 45 minutes, so they’re perfect for on-the-go women who might only have a small amount of time to squeeze in a quick workout before work.
We decided to try Ilyse Baker’s barre workout because I already knew I liked her teaching style since I’ve taken a dance class with her before at the Reebok headquarters last year.
Her energy is contagious without being annoying. She’s motivating but lets you know she’s feeling the burn, too!
The workout lasted 30 minutes and we were engaged the entire time.
We started sweating and definitely felt the burn! My sister and I liked it so much that we decided to try another 30-minute video immediately after the barre workout. We selected Amy Dixon’s Cardio Athletic workout which included lots of intervals. It was right up my alley!
I loved the format of the workout and the way Amy took us through several exercises for 30, 60 and 90 second bursts of intense cardio. My sister and I were super sweaty by the end of this workout! Amy was awesome… and kind of looks like Laura Prepon from That ‘70s Show to me a little bit! I’m also hoping to pitch a similar class to my boss at the gym because I think it could be a hit in a group exercise format.
The site makes it easy to sort through videos by duration, workout type, instructor and level.
If you need a little push to start your routine, FitnessGlo offers an 8-week customized jump-start program and ways to track your workouts and make sure your routine includes a balance of strength, cardio and stretching.
Access to the FitessGlo website costs $12 a month, but anyone can receive a free 15-day trial. And one of you will win a free 90-day membership!
To enter this giveaway for a free 90-day FitnessGlo membership, simply comment on this post telling me why you are looking for a great at-home workout option or what type of workout video you’d be most excited to try. Barre? Core strength? Cardio dance? Let me know!
I will randomly select one winner on Monday.
Good luck!
I would love to try this workout. I just got a new puppy so I would like to stay home more to get to know her and working out at home now-for the time being sounds wonderful!
I clock in at 3:30AM most days and that means fitting my workouts in where I can…often around 2AM! Instead of driving to the sketchy gym 15 minutes away, I would love (and my body would love!) to be able to have an easy yet effective at home option where the chances of getting my car stolen are much less. 😉 I would try barre first. I’ve heard a lot about it but have never had the opportunity to try it!
I have heard so much about barre classes I’d love to try fitness glo!!
Being in grad school and working full time makes at home workouts the best! I’d love to try out the Barre workout.
Since I graduate law school this Friday and lose access to a free gym, at-home workouts while I prepare for the Bar Exam would be awesome!
Nicole
This would add some spice to my workouts! Id like to try the cardio. Running is great but I need to add vatiety
I’d be most excited to try Barre! I also need this because I am going to be moving and won’t have all the equipment in my house like I do now, but don’t have money for a gym membership!
Home workouts would be great so I would have no excuses!
Wow sounds like lots of people are interested in the Barre videos! I’d love to try that or the cardio interval one you mentioned. I’ve tried Amy Dixon’s kickboxing workout and liked it but I’ve heard her drills videos are even better.
Hi! I would love to try the barre workout – I am a new stay at home mom and relocating (hubby is in the military) at the end of the month to a place where I won’t know anyone as well as be the primary caretaker of my daughter (hubby is in the navy and will be deploying soon). I would love to have this option available to me to keep in shape as a new mom. Thanks! Love your blog!
I’m sure the workouts on Fitnessglo are awesome, but for those people who don’t want to pay $12 a month, there’s fitnessblender.com which is all free and tons of workouts there as well.
I have always wanted to try a Barre work out! The only Barre workout where I live is for an older group, I want a to try it! Thanks!!
Since a recent injury (bad ankle sprain) and a continue back injury is going to prevent me from my typical train-for-a-race type of summer, I have been anxiously looking for a new workout for this summer. I’ll be a full time stay at home mom this summer, so this would work out perfectly for me!
I would love to try this!! I just had a bebe so this would be perfect for nap time! 🙂
The ONLY way I can fit in workouts is to be able to do them at home! I especially like that you can search for specific workout durations to fit my ever changing schedule.
I would love to try cardio dance!!
I love finding workouts online and the more variety the better. I work out from home 2-3 days week when the gym opens later in the morning. I’d love some more at home cardio inspiration!
I won’t have access to a gym this summer so I would love to have this membership! And I want to give barre a shot since I keep hearing so much about it!
I would like to try something new – my jillian dvd’s are getting old! i have to be in the hospital around 4am, so fitting in a workout before at home would be ideal. I would like to start with cardio dance! sounds fun!
ps – i am encouraged that you share a little about your growing faith on your blog.
I am always looking for ways to stay active and this would be a great way to do so. All of the workout options sound great and would keep me coming back for more.
I would love to try this workout. It would be so convenient to do before work!
I would love to try more barre classes. I have taken two and loved them! At home cardio would be great too!
I would love a membership in order to work out more effectively at home. Two kids, two dogs, a business plus a full time job means I need to fit workouts in whenever I can….this would certainly help!
I just moved and am strapped for extra money right now so the gym membership had to be sacrificed. I run on my own, but I was depending on PT and group classes for strength training guidance. I would love an option like this!!
This sounds amazing! I would love a membership to FitnessGlo because I am unable to join a gym in my area (DC is SO expensive!) and really, really miss fitness classes! This could be a great alternative!
I golf twice a week after work, so hitting the gym after that is tough. Would love to have a quality source for those nights! Thanks PBF!
I’m a grad student, and my on-campus gym membership will end soon because of summer break. I’d love a source of a variety of at-home workouts for the summer to keep me fit. I’d be most interested in barre and core workouts.
What a great site! With a full-time job, a husband, and a 2 1/2 year old boy to handle everyday, I have no time or money to join a gym (and the closest one is about 20 minutes away) so sneaking in my workout in my garage every night is my only option. I’ve never tried a barre workout, but I think they look really neat. I’ll definitely be checking this site out 🙂
I just had a beautiful baby boy 7 weeks ago and am ready to get back to exercising, I’m really interested in trying barre!
I’m always on the go…but never at the same time each day so working out at home seems like the option that will keep me going and less likely to skip too many days. Also, I am still somewhat intimidated by the gym atmosphere. I don’t do well with high impact but need some cardio in my life, so I think the cardio dance would be fun and right up my alley.
It gets so hot and humid in DC so an indoor workout option would be awesome. And I would love to try barre!
This website looks awesome… and I’m so glad you liked Amy! She is an instructor at my gym, Equinox, in Santa Monica, California and she really is awesome! Every class she teaches is as great as the next. Glad she translated well on video 🙂
This is a great at home workout. Even a guy would love to save time and work out at home. Glad to see a wide range of programs to choose from. I personally love doing athletic cardio. Thanks for the information.
They all look great but I think I would want to try the barre first. Thank you!
This sounds like an awesome at home workout solution. I recently decided to not re-up my gym membership so I am loving discovering new at home workouts. Thanks for the great giveaways!
As a junior doctor I work very long and erratic shifts which makes it difficult to stick to any sort of exercise schedule! I’d love to join a dance class but this wouldn’t work time-wise, so would love this for the barre workouts 🙂
I recently had a baby and this would solve my problems of not having time to workout and not wanting to get a sitter for an hour while I go to the gym!
I would really enjoy having an at home gym membership! I am a busy profrssional who is on call to different client locations and its been tough to atted new workout classes. Id love to try out barre classes!
I am a new teacher who unfortunately spends about 13 hours a day at school. I don’t drive so taking the bus after a long day to the gym is never on my to-do list! An at home workout fix would be amazing! I would love to try Barre!!
What a great resource! My husband and I (and puppy) are going on a HUGE cross country roundtrip road trip this summer and were just talking about how to stay fit and motivated on the road. This would be great to have to do at the campgrounds/hotel rooms!
This sounds so convenient! Would love to try out the Barre!
I love at home workouts, and I’ve been wanting to try one of the subscription based services, so thus would be awesome to win!
I’m more of a group fitness class lady, but I can’t always make it to the gym or the classes offered aren’t exactly what I’m looking for. This seems like a wonderful opportunity to ensure I’m getting my workouts in without having to leave my house! I can workout quickly in the morning before work and call it a day!
I would love to win this… I am always running between workin at the winery and shooting lacrosse games, so having a core workout that I could do at my pace, t home, and in between activities would be ideal!
I don’t always have time to make it to the gym before it closes, so an at-home workout would be great. I’ve always wanted to try a barre workout!
I’d love to try the barre workouts. They’re so much fun but the in-person classes are so expensive!
I am always looking for new workouts to try at home. I don’t have a gym membership so I walk and do videos at home.
I go to school full time and I work full time. It would be great to have a workout that I could fit around my crazy schedule!
I cant afford a gym membership so this sounds like a great way for me to try the barre class; I would love a membership! Thank you!
I’m always looking for something that will help combat my exercise ADD. FitnessGlo sounds awesome, and I’d love to win! Thanks for the opportunity.
