Good morning! I hope you guys are enjoying a fabulous weekend!
Between the SHINE Women’s Conference on Thursday and Friday and my AFAA Group Exercise Certification course yesterday, I feel like I haven’t had much computer time with you guys! Friday was the final day of SHINE and we all agreed that it was fabulous. On Thursday night they opened with “Oh Happy Day!” and I basically freaked out. That song is so fabulous.
SHINE was the first Christian women’s conference I’ve ever attended and I have only good things to say about it. I am still very much growing in my personal journey and am glad I was able to attend the conference with my mom and sister and my sister’s boyfriend’s mom and sister. We had such a warm group and I loved listening to the various speakers with such kind, loving women.
Yesterday I spent the day at an AFAA Group Exercise Certification workshop and will know the results from the practical and written exams within four to six weeks. I think it went really well and I’ll be sure to share more about the experience on the blog soon.
And now I have something to share with you guys that I think many of you will enjoy, especially those of you who are on the go a lot, don’t have a gym membership or prefer to work out at home.
FitnessGlo
In between the conference sessions on Friday, we had a two-hour break and since were all feeling a little antsy from sitting for most of the day, we decided to do an at-home workout. I plugged my computer into the television and my sister and I spent some time on the FitnessGlo website selecting a workout we thought we all might enjoy from the various videos available on the site.
I first learned about FitnessGlo through a partnership with FitFluential and was immediately impressed with the workout videos on the site. There are tons! (Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are 100 percent my own. I loved this site!)
FitnessGlo is a website created for women by women with busy women in mind. The website features workout videos with varying intensities from level one (On My Way) to level three (Good to Glo). Their videos last anywhere from five to 45 minutes, so they’re perfect for on-the-go women who might only have a small amount of time to squeeze in a quick workout before work.
We decided to try Ilyse Baker’s barre workout because I already knew I liked her teaching style since I’ve taken a dance class with her before at the Reebok headquarters last year.
Her energy is contagious without being annoying. She’s motivating but lets you know she’s feeling the burn, too!
The workout lasted 30 minutes and we were engaged the entire time.
We started sweating and definitely felt the burn! My sister and I liked it so much that we decided to try another 30-minute video immediately after the barre workout. We selected Amy Dixon’s Cardio Athletic workout which included lots of intervals. It was right up my alley!
I loved the format of the workout and the way Amy took us through several exercises for 30, 60 and 90 second bursts of intense cardio. My sister and I were super sweaty by the end of this workout! Amy was awesome… and kind of looks like Laura Prepon from That ‘70s Show to me a little bit! I’m also hoping to pitch a similar class to my boss at the gym because I think it could be a hit in a group exercise format.
The site makes it easy to sort through videos by duration, workout type, instructor and level.
If you need a little push to start your routine, FitnessGlo offers an 8-week customized jump-start program and ways to track your workouts and make sure your routine includes a balance of strength, cardio and stretching.
Access to the FitessGlo website costs $12 a month, but anyone can receive a free 15-day trial. And one of you will win a free 90-day membership!
To enter this giveaway for a free 90-day FitnessGlo membership, simply comment on this post telling me why you are looking for a great at-home workout option or what type of workout video you’d be most excited to try. Barre? Core strength? Cardio dance? Let me know!
I will randomly select one winner on Monday.
Good luck!

I am currently moving into my first apartment and looking to add at home workouts to save myself some money from gym membership until I am working full time. I would love to try the barre workouts as it is something not offered at my current gym.

I would love love love to win the 90 day membership! There are days when I just can’t get to the gym and having access to work-outs at home without doing the same ol videos would be a blessing. Thanks so much for doing the giveaway.

I’d love to try a cardio dance video!

A 90 day membership would really help me out in the summer. I am a high school teacher and anay gym around where I live has my student or former sutdents. Gym time is “me” time. I drive 30 minutes to get to a gym for my “me” time. the at home workouts would be great for the days I can’t get out to the gym. I like the balance of the strength, cardio, and stretching.
Caitlin says
Even though I have a gym membership, they have pretty limited hours. There are so many times when I really want to get in a workout but my gym is either closed or I just don’t feel like leaving the house. FitnessGlo sounds like something I would really like to try!
Molly S says
I love the idea of an at-home barre workout! Being able to work out in my own house without a needing a full set of equipment would mean no excuses for not working out. Thanks for sharing about this option!
Also, I love that you attended the Shine conference. I have not been to that particular conference, but there are several other Christian female conferences I have been too that have really impacted me.

Hi Julie!
I have an 8 month old at home and find it hard to get to a gym ! We do a lot of walking but I would love to do at home exercising while he is napping in the afternoons ! I would definitely focus on barre to time up a bit 🙂
Thank you !

I can’t afford a gym membership and now that it’s summer I’m not using my university’s gym anymore sooo I need something that I can do at home. I try to run regularly but sometimes you gotta mix things up ya know! This website sounds awesome!
Shannon says
Core strength all the way! I’m in serious need of mixing up my cardio too, so I’d love to incorporate any dance related stuff as well!
Whitney says
I am a stay at home mom married to a grad student in pa school, so my workouts happen in my living room or with a jogging stroller! I would love to have a go-to place to get new workouts from while my daughter sleeps! I am interested in trying out the barre exercises since I danced for 12 years of my life!
sara says
I really want to try Barre without having to join a specialized barre gym.

I just graduated from college (yesterday! :D) and I am one broke girl. Any money I could possibly save on a gym membership would be so incredibly helpful.

Emily says
I am a super busy nurse/student/mom, and I like the idea of finding a fun way to incorporate some exercise in at home. I am first and foremost a runner, but I enjoy strength and cross training. I don’t have the time or money to do gym classes regularly so I have to work with what I have. I have never done Barre, but am really curious about it.
Rosemary says
I’m moving out of my hometown for the summer (internship), so I wont have access to my regular gym- for almost exactly 90 days! This looks like an awesome alternative
Callie B. says
What a fabulous giveaway! I don’t have easy access to a gym and with a husband in medical school, so I don’t have a gym membership…I definitely need something that will push me and give me new routines!
Crystal C. says
What a cool sounding website! I have a gym membership, but with a new baby at home right now with me (seven weeks old!), going to the gym most days isn’t really an option right now. I have workout DVDs, but am feeling a bit tired of doing the same old ones over and over. The options on this website sound right up my alley, and would hopefully help me lose the bit of baby weight (and then some!) that I would like to get rid of. 🙂
Kate says
I love yogaglo + fitnessglo sounds equally great! Ive been wanting to try a Barre class.
Kayla says
I will be leaving to do an internship this summer (yay!) but with all of the changing of states, apartments, etc. my gym membership won’t be transferable because the gym I work out at is not in the state I will be moving to! This will allow me to keep my workout routine up with lots of variation 🙂
Kelsey Bartholomay says
I would love to win this give away because I am a full time nursing student while working at a hospital full time as well and don’t have much time for gyms, but I would love to have something fun to do at the house something like the cardio dance sounds fun and engaging!
Steph says
I work from home and live in a rural area- ok pretty much out in the woods. Driving to a gym at lunch or after work not really an option 25-40 minutes away in either direction but it is nice to run for almost an bour and not see a car or human!! Just me and my running buddy, Harley my black lab!! I would love to try barre, yoga, or core since I don’t get much of those on my own
tam says
Being a busy student on teacher training, I would love to have the option to have fitnessglo as a workout option! The Barre workout looks interesting as I have never had the opportunity to try it, it would be something new! Tam

My job in sales keeps me in a hotel about 3 days/week so I am not able to commit to any gym. Not to mention I am a bit intimidated by them. It sounds like FitnessGlo would be a great option for me to try! I would live to win the 90 day trail!! Thanks for sharing:)

FitnessGlo sounds like a great way to sneak in workouts with my busy schedule! And since I’m graduating college in just a few weeks, saving money on a gym membership when I no longer have access to the gyms on campus would be ahhh-mazing!

I would love a 90 day membership to FitnessGlo. I just recently had emergency brain surgery and can’t drive to the gym. This would be a perfect way to get my strength back at home!
Jennifer says
We are in the process of a coast to coast move and I would love to have access to these workouts as we transition. I have come so far with my fitness, I am worried that I might lose all of the progress I’ve made 🙂
Wendy says
I signed up for the free trial yesterday after reading your post and love the site! As an auditor, I rarely work in the same place from week to week, and my gym (the closest to my home) is over a half hour away. Needless to say, scheduling workouts can be a challenge! I have tried other at home workouts, but I love the variety FitnessGlo offers as well as the flexibility to pick a short workout if you want to quickly squeeze something in!
Megan says
Core strength work outs for sure! I am going to be stuck at home for the next month or so (ACL surgery on right leg, aka driving leg…) so having some work out video to do at home would be nice!
Rachel says
I like to have the option of working out at home for some variety but never know what to do. I would like to try the barre workout and the cardio workout sounds like its a great workout!
Hetty says
I’m a 60 ( as of 3 weeks from now!!) weaver who works at home. Spending too much time on my bench. This might actually get me up and moving inbetween weaving my products. Have to figure out how to get my lap top connected to my TV- which I’d like to do anyway. Would have to start slow.
Sarah P says
Definitely some cardio dance to get up and moving but keeping it fun!
