I’m still trying my best to make smart decisions when it comes to snacking and typically opt for food combinations that include a healthy dose of protein, fat and carbohydrates since I know this will keep me satisfied for much longer. Today I’m teaming up with CVS to share some ideas for filling snack pairings you can easily assemble when you’re limited on time!
Five Easy Snack Duos
- Greek Yogurt + Almonds
Greek yogurt has been a snacktime favorite of mine for years. With so many different flavors available these days, it’s easy to eat this one frequently without ever getting sick of it. Topping a cup of the yogurt with nuts adds a crunchy texture and a dose of healthy fats that helps keep me feeling satisfied.
- Cottage Cheese + Dried Fruit
As a big-time fan of sweet and salty flavor combinations, this duo is a big-time favorite. Cottage cheese is a great source of satiating protein and sprinkling a bowl with dried fruit only amps up the flavor!
- Granola Bar + Nut Butter
Spreading peanut butter (or any nut butter!) on top of a granola bar seriously enhances the flavor! Plus, the addition of nut butter adds creaminess, protein and healthy fat to this delicious snack.
- Air Popped Popcorn + Trail Mix
I love this combination because I can eat an entire bag of trail mix in one sitting if I’m not thinking about it. By adding fiber-rich air popped popcorn to the mix, I am able to amp up the volume of trail mix without eating my bodyweight in the higher-calorie trail mix staples like nuts, dried fruit and chocolate pieces. Plus, the flavor combinations in this particular duo are endless!
- Fresh Fruit + Mixed Nuts
This one has been a staple of mine for years and with good reason. It’s perfectly portable, making it a great option for on-the-go nutritious snacking.

I can’t have dairy while nursing my baby. She doesn’t respond well to it but my go to snack recently has been a bagel or fluffy English muffin with peanut butter, coconut shreds and a drizzle of honey. Paired with either an apple or banana. Yum!
Love these ideas! Also some of my favorites! My currents favorite is plantain chips (trader joes) dipped in guacamole or just plain avocado. So yummy!
Cottage cheese with tomatoes are a go to for me! Yum!
Oh man, how to even choose? I do love dipping fruit — especially strawberries and bananas — into yogurt! When I don’t feel like pulling out my blender to make a nice smoothie.
Lately, my favorite snack has been Silk’s new yogurt with PB2. First, I mix the pb2 with some water and let it freeze. When it’s frozen I’ll chop it up and put it in the Silk Vanilla yogurt and add some blueberries. so good!
granola and goats milk yogurt!
I love banana slices with almond butter spread between them! I freeze them at work, and snack on them in the afternoon. YUM!

Pretzels & Hummus – yum!
I love pairing trail mix with my greek yogurt. But that nut butter on the granola bar looks delicious!! I will have to try it!
Peanut butter with just about anything but especially bananas or pretzels!
One of my favorite snack pairings is raisins dipped in peanut butter! Unfortunately, if you’re not careful, you can eat a lot of it, consuming quite a few calories.
Bananas and peanut butter! Or any type of nut butter and a spoon!!!
Sundried tomatoes with gouda on rice crackers!
Cottage cheese with any type of fruit…fresh or dried.
I love green grapes and vanilla flavored yogurt! The sweetness of the yogurt and the tanginess of the grapes is a perfect combo!
