Typically when we go to the dog park, we spend half the time playing fetch with Sadie and the other half of the time walking the trails at the park.
Not today! Today our time at the park was dominated by round after round of fetch!
Sadie spent a lot of time in the water today, swimming around after her slobbery tennis ball. I think she’ll sleep well tonight!
Dinner
When we arrived home, dinner came together quickly thanks to some two-ingredient crock pot chicken we had waiting for us.
After adding a bit of taco seasoning to the mix, I used the seasoned chicken in a pseudo-quesadilla that I made by warming up a FlatOut flatbread on the griddle, sprinkling it with cheese and leftover steamed broccoli and cauliflower, and topping it with another FlatOut flatbread.
This was so good! I blame the cheese… and the chicken… and the flatbread. Okay, everything but the vegetables, though they added a nutritional punch, so they were pivotal in their own right.
Foodzie Steals My Heart
After dinner it was time to break into a box of goodies from Foodzie that I received through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program.
According to the Foodzie website, Foodzie is an online marketplace where you can discover and buy food directly from small passionate food producers and growers. Foodzie believes that instead of a small number of large food companies, there should be a large number of small food companies. I love that!
This box was a Foodzie Tasting Box, a neat package full of new and delicious food products to try that people can subscribe to receive from the company monthly.
In the box:
If I had a Foodzie subscription, I can assure you I’d start salivating the minute I saw their package on my doorstep!
Since I am a curious person by nature, I tore into quite a few of the goodies in the box after dinner.
I started with the freeze dried pineapple from Peeled Snacks.
I loved that the only ingredient in the bag was dried pineapple! Very tasty! I bet this would be fantastic stirred into Greek yogurt or sprinkled on top of a smoothie bowl.
Up next was an almond biscotti by Biscotti Bari.
On my gosh! This biscotti tasted so good that I figured it was probably extremely calorie-dense, but the entire biscotti had only 90 calories and tasted perfectly buttery and slightly sweet. I’m not sure how they do it, but I am a fan.
Now that I am adequately full, please excuse me while I entertain my husband.
We’re testing out hiking gear for Ryan’s big guy’s hiking trip that he’ll be going on soon.
Tonight is test-the-sleeping-bag night!
We’re so special.
Tina @ Faith Fitness Fun says
You two are too cute!
Parita says
Agreed! Way too cute!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I actually think the sleeping bag pics are AWESOME! My husband set up our tent on top of our bed for our anniversary (part of it) b/c it was too rainy to camp outdoors. Doing random things can be hilarious!!
And your dinner sounds SO good. I love cheese and chicken….mmmmm 🙂
Allison @ Allison's Delicious Life says

I got my Foodzie box today, too! Surprisingly enough, I have yet to open anything up…however, those Alfajores really don’t have much of a chance with me. They sound AMAZING, don’t they?? 🙂

I love Flatouts! They make them in my hometown! 🙂
That gift box looks so fun! I love sampling things like that!
Megan says
I loooove biscotti… Almond dipped in chocolate is my favorite!
Kaitlyn @ 7 Plates says
I totally agree with the idea that there should be more small food companies instead of having a few large ones. I hate places like… Wal Mart. 😉
Cait's a Runnerchick says
That quesadilla looks amazing! Those Flatouts are awesome, I also like the La Tortilla Factory line. There are few things better than melty, gooey cheese. 🙂
I haven’t ever heard of Foodzie but I really like what they are doing. It’s so hard for smaller, local businesses, it’s great whenever they can get some ‘love’ and a leg-up. I’ll have to check them out, thanks for sharing!
Oh and great pix of all your fun in a bag, hope the night goes well. 🙂
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Yeah maybe it is a good thing I don’t get those tasting boxes — I’d eat all of that stuff right away!

Everything about this post? Delicious! I must say, my favorite thing about your site (aside from your posts) is the fact that the little spoon doesn’t move when I scroll up and down. I get to look at peanut butter all the while 😉

peanutbutterfingers says
No he couldn’t go to Europe b/c he had the hiking trip on the books already, so it was too much vacation time off from work.

Hello Julie.. I wanted to ask you something.. You train in the morning and then you have breakfast.. I do this too because I heard that you burn more fat this way.. but, I read somewhere that you burn fat, but you also burn muscle…so…what do you think? Because I’m trying to lose some weight, but I cannot wake up like at 4 a.m. to eat and wait 2 hours to digest everything.. thanks for your answer, and you’re definitely the cutest couple around!!! xoxo
Sarah says
That’s cool! I would totally be into tasting foods 🙂
