Every day I eat a morning snack. Usually my morning snack time occurs around 10 a.m. Eating something around 10 a.m. usually helps tide me over quite nicely until lunchtime.
Today, I ate my snack and headed out the door around 10:30 to make it to the other side of town for an 11 a.m. meeting. (Ryan and I literally live at least 20 minutes away from almost anything worthwhile in Ocala.)
The meeting lasted until close to 1 p.m. and by the time we got out, I was really hungry. And then I remembered that I was less than 5 minutes away from a frozen yogurt shop.
I figured I would get a little cup to eat before I ran some errands that would help stave off hunger until I got home and could fix myself a healthy, substantial lunch.
Does a cup nearly the size of my face count as a “little cup?”
I polished off that whole cup and let’s just say my appetite was sufficiently ruined.
The nasty under-the-whipped cream view:
Such a mess. Such a delicious mess.
My cup included peanut butter and chocolate frozen yogurt, topped with a bunch of peanut butter and chocolate-based toppings including Reese’s peanut butter cups, Reese’s Pieces and Butterfinger crumbles.
My fellow former Girl Scouts out there (or Girl Scout cookie connoisseurs) may recognize the Samoa (Caramel Delight) cookie in there. Oddly enough, I didn’t really enjoy it as a frozen yogurt topping. Frozen crumbled Thin Mints are where it’s at when it comes to ice cream toppings! (I should definitely add frozen Thin Mints to the list of crap food we always had on hand when I was a child. They were in our freezer year round!)
So today’s lunch wasn’t the best decision ever, but it was a nice treat and a good reminder to pack a snack in my purse if I think I’m going to be out and about through my typical lunchtime.
After my frozen yogurt break, I stopped by the office of one of my freelance clients to discuss some upcoming assignments and some story ideas I have for the future.
On my way home, I swung by Ross to see if they had any shoes I can wear with the fluffy dress I bought to wear for the America-themed formal night of our upcoming cruise. (Yes, I said fluffy. I’m going to be a vision in tulle. Just you wait!)
While they didn’t have any shoes that would work, they did have this little number that I think someone should buy immediately. Tinkerbell, perhaps?
I also tried on a cute maxi dress that I thought might be fun for our cruise, but I didn’t end up buying it.
I really liked the one shoulder ruffle, but it was a little too short. In the above photo, I have it yanked down as far as I comfortably could without the promise of a nip slip.
Any dress that comes along with the potential for a nip slip is a no go.
Time to cram in some writing before calling it a day!
P.S. The Fashion page was updated today.
Krissy @ Shiawase Life says
too bad the maxi dress didn’t work out, you look adorable! i have never tried one on that wasn’t dragging all over the floor (5’2″ problems) so I cannot relate at all to a long dress being short 😉
Julie says
Hahaha you’re such a PBC hogger!! lol
Can’t wait to see what kind of “fluffy” dress you’re wearing at the cruise!
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
I wish I had a fro-yo place near me! We only have one where we live and it’s really far. We always froze thin mints too 🙂
Ashley @ Sweat for Sweets says
Hahah I love love love the title of this post! Frozen yogurt is possibly the best treat EVER (other than chocolate + cupcakes, of course!).
Have you ever tried Menchies, or do you have one close to you? Speaking as a fro-yo connosieur, I must say that it is the best one! They’ve got so many different flavours & are constantly rotating them based on the season. They’re so relaxed on letting people self-sample as well, so you could literally go in there, sample all the different yogurts, & then decide to committ or not! The best flavour is the red velvet mmmm 🙂
Can’t wait to see your “fluffy” dress. Sounds very poodle-ish hahah!
peanutbutterfingers says
i LOVE menchie’s! we had them when we lived in orlando. i miss it SO much!
Presley @ Run Pretty says
I’m not tall (only 5’6″-ish), but they are NEVER long enough. That would have been a cute one, though!
peanutbutterfingers says
i have the same problem! i own three maxi dresses and they were the ONLY three that were ever long enough!
Alysha @Shesontherun says
I’m 5’6″-ish as well. I have a blue maxi dress from the gap that I adore but it’s a few inches too short (what are the 5’8-9″ ers wearing if they don’t even fit us??).
Heather says
Man I want some frozen yogurt now! Maybe the size of my face!
peanutbutterfingers says
that’s the best size. 😉
Lindsey says
That fro-yo looks so good! We finally have a place opening up where I live, I watch the construction daily and am thinking they will be open for May. Soo excited!!
Abby @ Change of Pace says
The frozen yogurt looks divine!
I love the photos of Sadie with funny comments!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
i’m all about froyo the size of my face! especially with all of those wonderful toppings you added… peanut butter and chocolate toppings are always the best of course!
i want to find a maxi dress or two, so i might need to head over to ross to see if they have any i like. 😉
Laurel says
hahaha…the sadie pic killed me…6 nip slips…hahaha
Katie @ http://katieenpursuit.wordpress.com/ says
This does NOT help my FroYo craving, jee thanks 🙂 It’s finally warmer here in STL and I crave frozen yogurt purely for the mish-mash of toppings. Your’s looked delish (it had calcium so it was a healthy lunch!)
Leslie says
The BEST Sadie caption to date.
As a 5’9 gal, I have to order mine in tall, it’s sort of crazy, and I am way more excited than I should be to see your fluffy getup!
Holly at Healthy Living Holly says
the picture of sadie at the bottom put the biggest smile on my face!
i love the print on that maxi dress, but it’s too bad it was too short! it looks great on you 🙂
and this post just reminded me that we have a new frozen yogurt place by our apartment. maybe i should stop there after i get my taxes done (or instead of..)
Emilie @ Emilie's Enjoyables says
pb + chocolate themed fro yo are always my go-to!
Sana says
I actually like the dress on you!
Cassie D. says
That fro-yo looks delish! I had never been to a fro-yo place that let’s you put on your own toppings until one opened last week around the corner from my office. Let’s just say it was a life-changing experience. And I also have to convince myself daily to not go there for lunch 🙂
Marisa says
LOL @ the Sadie photo bubble at the end!
krystal @ coffeecardiogoddess.wordpress.com says
Omg that yogurt looks amaze!! I literally got a similar concoction yesterday. With peanut butter cups and butterfinger bits on the bottom and strawberry yogurt with cherries and chocolate chips! I can never make up my mind when it comes to flavors so I always do 2 layers! Yum. i dont blame you for wanting to treat yourself since you live so far from a fro yo place. I go a lot because I live super close to one, which probably isnt the best thing haha
Emily says
nip slip… LOL love it
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Oh man I want that frozen yogurt! Sometimes frozen yogurt for lunch just makes sense. 😉
Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola says
Ohh that frozen yogurt sounds fantastic!! I can’t believe your fro yo place had girl scout cookies as toppings!! So awesome! I agree though- anything with caramel in it just hardens with the yogurt and isn’t so appealing. And that dress is cute but bummer about the length!
Danielle says
Umm, that looks DELICIOUS. Also, your Sadie captions are the best.
Ericka says
Six nip slips….lol. LOVE your Sadie pics and captions!
Laura C says
Nothing wrong with Froyo for lunch! My boyfriend and I totally did that yesterday after a stressful morning at work and I still managed to lose a pound… bonus!
Hillary says
That is the yogurt cup of my dreams. Yum.
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
Haha I think froyo for lunch every once in a while is good! And I’m the same way, I need to remember to pack more snacks! Luckily today I found some string cheese at CVS when picking up my prescription
Janine @ThePurpleGiraffe says
can’t wait to see your fluffy american themed dress! My husband and I are going on a cruise on Memorial Day weekend and I’m figuring out my formal night attire! Just got some great shoes that I need an outfit to match!
Stellina @ My Yogurt Addiction says
MMM that frozen yogurt looks sooo good?! What size is that??? I had some last night too! Frozen yogurt spikes my appetite more than anything tho! I think it’s all that delicious sugarrrr!
peanutbutterfingers says
they only have one size, so i’m gonna go with “gigantic.”
Megan @ The I Do Diaries says
That maxi dress is very cute, sorry it didn’t work out! I haven’t found one that doesn’t look to short on me either, alas the search continues!
I have had a hankering for fro-yo lately and those pics did nothing to stop it 😉 That’s pretty much exactly the cup I would create for myself-gotta love Reese’s!
Jentry Nielsen says
nip slips never make for a good night! ha That is so funny!!!
That yogurt looks delicious! I think I may have to make a stop on my way home as well today! ha
Julie says
This is off topic, BUT…have you watched last night’s New Girl yet?? It was by far the best episode yet 🙂
Khushboo says
I would trade my appetite for fro yo the size of my face 🙂
Amy says
can you believe there is NO frozen yogurt place here? it seriously depresses me haha.
that dress is so cute btw…but ya, nip slips are never good haha
peanutbutterfingers says
that would depress me, too! 😀
Stephanie @ Mr and Meatless says
Love frozen yogurt! But I hate how by the time you get to the bottom, it’s all soupy.
kelly says
Pb froyo and promise of a fluffy dress, what’s not to love. Maybe your next cruise theme should be Disney themed then you could justify that o so lovely green dress haha
Jen@FoodFamilyFitness says
Bummer on the nip slippage issue, it’s a really cute dress! I was with my future sister in law at a bridal boutique and saw a dress like the tinkerbell one above in the bridesmaid dress section…yikes.
Michelle (Better with Berries) says
I haven’t had froyo in so long – I need some in my life soon! I always forget about whipped cream until after I’ve paid for it, but it’s got to be one of the most cost efficient toppings 🙂
VanessaG says
I love to sometimes eat dessert for lunch or dinner! It doesn’t kill us, and sometimes its just too easy and good to pass up! I would get exactly the same combo as yogurt as you did. If I lived near a frozen yogurt place, I would probably eat a huge cup the size of my head too many times for lunch. Guess its good I don’t live near one. Good luck with dress shopping! 🙂
Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says
I had frozen yogurt for lunch on Monday! Totally necessary every once in a while!
Whitney @ Whit Likes Fit says
Your yogurt would be the exact combo I would put on mine. And I really wish I could eat it right now for dinner.
Ellie@Fit for the Soul says
awwww the maxi dress looked so pretty on you, too! But i agree, I really don’t like having to worry about keeping my clothes in place 😛
Erika says
We have a few froyo shops where I live and I love them! I had thin mint & vanilla froyo on Sunday. I topped it with caramel cups, strawberries and caramel. It was my treat for the week! The maxi dress looks great on you! I have never tried one on. I just don’t think it would be a good look on me.
Serena says
Too bad the Maxi dress didn’t fit it was super cute.
Yellow Haired Girl says
Hahahahahahaha Sadie. You’re so scandalous 😉
Nicole says
When’s your cruise? Shopping FOR a vacation is extra fun!
peanutbutterfingers says
we leave in exactly ONE WEEK!
Shay @ Whine Less, Breathe More says
Looks like a yummy lunch!
Lily says
I am trying to roughly calculate how many boxes of thin mints your family must have had to buy to keep them on hand all year round.
peanutbutterfingers says
oh they were basically white from the freezer by the time the next girl scout cookie season came around. it was ridiculous.
Amanda says
I just got home from work late and mysteriously a brownie and a glass of milk became dinner. It happens 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
sounds good to me!
Sarah says
no dinner post-i missed it!!
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
I wish a could wear a maxi dress! I think they are so cute. I’m only 5’4″ so they look horrible on me.
