I know I had a smoothie for breakfast, but after reading about all of your fantastic smoothie creations in the comments section of my morning post, a smoothie is all I wanted for lunch.
I promise it will be my last one of the day!
My afternoon smoothie included:
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 spoonful peanut butter
- 1 spoonful dark chocolate cocoa powder
- 2 handfuls fresh spinach
- Enough almond milk to get everything moving
By the time 1 p.m. rolled around, my stomach started grumbling again, so I took that as a sign to eat lunch number two and fixed myself a plate of leftover salmon and a mixture of roasted vegetables.
Much better. Perfect packing fuel!
I’m almost done packing for tomorrow’s trip to Oregon. Just the toiletries and my carryon bag remain!
This activity sent someone into a tailspin of despair.
She’s currently laying on top of my plane outfit in protest.
How quickly she forgets what a lovely time we had last night together at Dairy Queen.
Sadie sure loves their pup cups! I also heard a rumor from a few of you guys when I posted this picture on Instagram and Twitter last night that Starbucks gives dogs Puppaccinos! (You can see one on Wags ‘n’ Woofs.) Apparently Sadie needs to perfect her pathetic look because we’ve never been offered a Puppaccino.
Time to get your game face on, Sadie.
Question of the Afternoon
- Do you know of any restaurants (chains or local places) that have special treats for dogs?
The park where we go hiking always has treats for dogs which I think it so neat! Sadie now knows to expect them, so whenever we roll down the window to show the ranger our park pass, she’s right in the window, wagging her tail like maniac.
Our pharmacy (Walgreens) keeps puppy treats for the drive thru people. Our dog won’t touch them, though. 🙂 Spoiled little pupper.
Does the bank count?! 🙂
Awww she misses you when you’re gone! And two smoothies in one day sounds pretty good to me.
In the park on Saturday, a local homemade treat company gave my pup a treat mid-long run! I figured it was ok and just considered it “fuel” haha! Gu for dogs 😉
Our bank bought treats specifically for our Labs! They know they’ll get one (or 2) and last night literally ran and pulled me to the bank!
Brusters Ice Cream gives out puppy cups too!
There are some ice cream places near my that give dog treats near where I live! Santo loves them! 🙂
That’s what always impresses me when we travel to Colorado-it’s so dog friendly!
When I was younger, a few of our local banks gave out dog bones at the teller windows! It was adorable and, just like Sadie, our dogs came to expect it 🙂
My dog now doesn’t quite grasp that the drive-thru employee isn’t some crazy trying to suck our souls from the car {Holly’s a real treat, I tell you} so she tends to go batshit crazy on them, but maybe I can get her to sweeten up and earn herself a Pup Cup!
My older dog also gets treats at the bank. Now she expects a treat whenever we drive up to anything and roll down the window. She gets very upset hat the ATM doesn’t dispense treats.
Also, our Starbucks gives out organic dog biscuits.
I didn’t know those were called Puppacinos! The Starbucks drive through by my house gave my dog one of those, except they basically filled an entire grande frappucino cup with whipped cream, so it was a tad bigger than the one in that link. He was in HEAVEN.
Usually when I’m home for the weekend my dad makes a starbucks run for the whole fam and I always know he picked it up before I even walk downstairs because my dog jumps on my bed and has whipped cream on his beard.
our fedex guy brings some treats to the door. 🙂 have a great time in OR … they really love dogs up there! when i went to visit my sister in portland i noticed dogs were allowed to walk in the mall and lots of shops and restaurants had water bowls outside for a passerby. i was blown away at how dog friendly the entire city was.
by the way, do you buy farm raised salmon or do you get the frozen? i know publix usually has the farm raised and i can never get the frozen to taste as good as fresh. or maybe its the texture. anyway, yours looks yummy! 🙂
I had no idea starbucks had pup treats@!!!! Or dairy queen for that matter!! thats so cute!! I can’t wait to take my doggies there!! 🙂
I didn’t know Dairy Queen did that, I’ll have to tell my brother! And his dog also gets so sad when she sees them packing! Poor thing.
wow. i didn’t know any of those places offered dog-treats! i should go see if my area gives those out too! i think my little one would love a puppacino!
I’ve never gotten milo a treat anywhere, I am a terrible mom!
Every Friday my husband takes Sherman, our chesapeake bay retriever to the bank with him. The ladies love when he brings Sherman, and Sherman KNOWS its treat time!!!
I know pets mope when we leave them!!
When I leave, even for a day or two and I get out my bag and my two pet rabbits know and they follow me around, hop in and out of the bag, just generally mope around. It’s weird because my dog back home acts like that, but you wouldn’t think Rabbits would know or care when I leave. But they do. haha
There is a local food truck park and one of the trucks serves cupcakes. Since the park is dog friendly, this particular truck offers cupcakes for our little canine friends!! I don’t know of any actual restaurants though.
The last thing my pup needs is a “someting ‘chino” hahaha.
I used to work as a cashier at PetSmart and some of the dogs cracked me up because they knew we had the little bowl of treats hiding behind the cash register. Some even made a beeline for it as soon as the walked in the door! The owners always looked embarrassed but I thought it was cute!
Have a safe trip!
I had a smoothie at b-fast too-yummmmmm 🙂
Do you live in bend? Too funny
CuppaYo, my local froyo shop, offers something called a puppayo. A puppayo includes a small cup of vanilla yo with a dog treat on top.
That smoothie looks delicious! YUMMMM Where in Oregon are you headed?
aaaaahhhh why are you coming to Oregon!?!?! Did I miss something???
I don’t blame you, I’ve been a smoothie making fool these days. The cold weather won’t stop me!
Sadie looks so cute with the pup cup!
The bank is the only place my dog has ever gotten a treat! I LOVE Oregon, have a good trip.
I looooove green monsters!! Have a great time in Oregon…..I honeymooned out there in July and it was amazing!!! Post lots of pictures 🙂
Poor little Sadie, she’s obviously in despair that you’re leaving! 😉
Your Sadie pics soooo make me wish I had a dog again!
My mom makes my dogs scrambled eggs for breakfast every morning and feeds them rotisserie chicken for dinner! She doesn’t even make her own daughter those things 😉
Puppaccino!? PRECIOUS! (:
Einstein’s Bagels in Atlanta has “dog bagels”, which are basically dog treats in the shape of a small bagel!
Omg – that picture of Sadie. She really is funny.
I’ve never been anywhere where they hand out treats to dogs! Except the vet’s office, lol
You sure do travel a lot!! Sounds like you have a real sweet gig with this blogging job!
I’m from the Vancouver Washington are near Portland and if you are anywhere near Portland I really reccomend visiting Voodoo Donuts! They make crazy ones with cereal and bacon on top they are so delicious!
My dog A.D. Gets whipped cream at Starbucks sometimes. I also go to Starbucks after some of my morning runs with her and she loves it when I buy a bacon gouda breakfast sandwich. The baristas place the bacon next the sandwich in the oven to get it crispy. I always leave the store with two pastry bags. One with my name and sandwich the other with A.D.’s name and her bacon. Yes, she is spoiled.
Einstein Bros has puppy bagels! Theyre like mini bagels that are crunchy.. my Annie does’t really like them, I think they confuse her haha
Am I the only person that doesn’t like the idea of puppaccinos and other sugary treats for pets? Sugar causes inflammation in humans so it definitely can’t be a positive thing for pets either.
*Yes, I am that dog owner whose dog does not get table scraps… The only non ‘dog’ treat she gets is almond butter and I think she’s healthy for it.
My puppy always gets treats at the bank and pharmacy. Also Dunkin donuts gives out munchkins to dogs!
However my dog is such a diva that she won’t eat any of them. Such a waste-a-roo!
Oh wow, I wish someplace nearby had treats for pups! Our church just had a big animal blessing, though, and that was a lot of fun! A church full of critters…. definitely NOT a quiet service. 🙂
Yesterday I took Cooper, my German Shorthair puppy, with me on some drive-thru errands. We got a treat at the coffee shop and the bank. By the time we got to the dry cleaners, he barked right at the lady in the window and she produced a treat as well. Cooper has this thing figured out already!
Ohh what fun stuff do you have planned in Oregon? I hope you have a blast!
Haha my parents’ dog gets treats at some gas stations and he is always so disappointed when we go to one without treats!
Your coming to Oregon! Yahoo! 🙂 I live outside Portland in Sherwood. I hope you have a great trip! What area? Portland will be getting lots o’rain starting Thursday, sorry!
Puppacino sounds absolutely adorable…go Starbucks!
those roasted veggies look amazing!!!!! hmmm I am sure my dog would devour that drink!
Sadie is too cute! I’ve never heard that Starbucks has puppacino’s! That is so funny! 🙂
