Hello from beautiful San Francisco!
I arrived in San Francisco Thursday evening to participate in a fun three-day trip with StitchFix and LUNA and we’ve been exploring, eating and having a blast.
It didn’t take me long to find my way back into the StitchFix closet!
I kind of love it!
A quick rundown of StitchFix: StitchFix (<—affiliate link!) is a personalized styling service. You create a style profile by answering various questions about yourself and then a stylist selects five items they think you will love to send to your home. The styling fee is $20 per “fix” but you can apply that toward the items you want to buy, should you choose to keep anything from your fix. Return shipping is free, so you can easily send back whatever you don’t want by placing everything in the big return envelope that comes with every fix. The company is growing like crazy and I’m excited to be back to see the changes that have occurred since my last visit in November!
Arrival in San Francisco
When I arrived at the airport on Tuesday, I met up with Gina, one of my best blogging buddies, and took an Uber to the townhouse where we are staying through Friday morning.
The townhouse is adorable and StitchFix and LUNA thoroughly impressed us with their attention to detail. They stocked our fridge with wine and breakfast food, filled the bathrooms with Yes To goodies and placed fresh hydrangeas by our beds.
It has been a great experience so far and I feel very lucky to be here. I owe a big thank you to StitchFix and LUNA for having me!
Wednesday in San Francisco
The first official day of our trip kicked off early Wednesday morning with a group yoga session organized by LUNA with their go-to yoga guru, Sadie.
In addition to teaching yoga and personal training, Sadie works 25 hours a week teaching free yoga classes to LUNA and Clif Bar employees. Pretty sweet, huh!?
She took us through a 40-minute yoga practice in a beautiful park and though it was cool outside, I quickly warmed up after we went through a few sun salutations.
(Hi Monica!)
It was a wonderful way to kick off the day and the pigeon pose felt amazing on my hips since they are still a little tight from running.
After yoga, we walked back to our townhouse and I went on a quick coffee run with Anne (who I just saw in Boston last weekend!) and quickly got ready for a day out and about in San Francisco.
StitchFix Headquarters
Our first stop took us to the StitchFix headquarters where we got a glimpse at some of the upcoming styles and a few customer favorites.
I gave a lot of positive feedback about their accessories (so many cute stackable bracelets and delicate gold necklaces!) and their bags.
They have some of the cutest crossbody purses (you can seem my all-time favorite fold-over black one hanging below) and I snapped a picture of a small brown crossbody I’m hoping to request in an upcoming fix.
A little tip for those of you who use StitchFix: You can request StitchFix items you see other people review online for your own fix! They suggested pinning a picture of the item you like to the Pinterest board you have linked to your StitchFix profile or requesting it by name if that information is shared online and easy to reference.
I took a few photos of clothes I’d love to see pop up in one of my fixes, including a denim vest, casual green pullover and a printed skirt.
Before it was time for lunch, we had a chance to peek through the racks of clothes in the StitchFix closet.
When lunchtime rolled around, it was a little chilly outside, so we made sure to grab our jackets before setting up camp on some blankets and digging into a fresh and flavorful picnic lunch from Heyday. I need to recreate their Moroccan chickpea and quinoa salad. Unreal!
San Francisco Scavenger Hunt
Once we finished lunch, it was time for LUNA to take over for the day! They organized a photo scavenger hunt that split us up into random groups of three (shout out to my teammates Gina and Nicole!) and took us all over the city.
I loved this sweet dog we ran into on the beach and had to take a quick photo. I can almost feel Sadie’s jealousy all the way from Ocala.
We snapped some goofy pictures at some of the popular tourist hangouts in the city and I’m pretty sure my teammates and I became best friends with the Uber driver we coerced into helping us with our mission! (You can see all of the photos from the scavenger hunt on Instagram.)
If it weren’t for the scavenger hunt, I never would have known about the Irish coffee at Buena Vista.
Apparently it’s quite popular and I now know why. It is delicious (and strong!) and the bartender told us that they sell nearly 2,000 a day. Not a bad little afternoon pick-me-up, that’s for sure!
Gina, Nicole and I went over the time limit (losing track of time over Irish coffees will do that to ya), so I’m not anticipating a victory, but we had a great time exploring together.
Now I have to run because our plans for the day are about to begin. A barre class is up first! I hope you guys are having a great Thursday!
What a fun opportunity! As a fashion writer , I would love to visit the Stitch Fix Closet ( or any companies closet for that matter). I actually did my first Stitch Fix video this week. Sounds like a fabulous trip!
Ordered my first stichfix after hearing it from your blog this first time you went out there. It is expected to arrive the 25th and I could not be more excited!!
Oh fun!!! Hope you love it!
Never heard of StitchFix, glad I did on this post!!
But do you think they can make doggie clothes for my 2 dachshunds? hehe. Such a sucker for dog clothes. And fashion is their thing! Ya know?!?
Your photo scavenger hunt looks like a riot.
Stitchfix! I have committed to Birch Box and from the looks of that mint chevron purse, Stitchfix may be next! Great post, I love San Fran and will be out there again soon. You should “bike the bridge” sometime, I highly recommend “Blazin Saddles”.
P.S-loving the maxi skirt you are rockin with that bit of crop top, nice!
That looks so fun! I love your outfit in these pics!
Wow looks like so much fun! I’m jealous actually. I can’t wait to hear more about it.
I have been following both you and Monica for this stitch fix thing! Looks like so much fun. Wish stitch fix was in Canada for sure. Have a great time.
Monica is a blast! 🙂
I love San Francisco!!!!! I”m insanely jealous of the town and the fact you get to play at Stitchfix!!! I have been getting fixes since around December… love it!!
oh my gosh that would be so fun to play in the stitch fix closet!!!! i LOVE the skirt and top you’re wearing!!
Sounds like an amazing weekend! Once I govet birth and get back into shape, I’m highly going to consider a Stitchfix subscription!
SO fun! I saw your pictures popping up on IG yesterday and it looked like you ladies were having a freaking BLAST!
I had no idea that you can request items you have seen from other fixes. How neat! Looks like a fun filled trip!
What a fun trip!! Omg I am obsessed with your outfit – it’s adorable!
I have a lot of credit to use on Stitch Fix but have been holding off because I gained weight this past year. I’m using my credits as motivation to lose weight so I can go shopping when I do!
Such a fun trip!!! Love your own maxi skirt you have on!!! San Fran looks so pretty!
So glad the fog didn’t roll in for you! I live very near San Francisco and I used to go to the old Exploratorium in the building with the orange dome. If you have time, go check out the Ferry Building, the Mission, and Coit Tower.
Thank you for the recommendations, Kinsey!
OOOOOOH …. do they ship to Canada????
I hope you collect airmiles with all the travelling you are going to be doing/have done.
Sadie will never forgive you for cheating on her 🙂
Haha yeah Sadie will put me through the ringer when I get home 😉
And they unfortunately don’t ship to Canada yet 🙁
This looks like so much fun!! And doing a scavenger hunt in San Fran would be awesome!! Especially with such gorgeous weather like that!
I hope Stichfix starts shipping international soon!
I’ll ask them about it today!
Love Stitch Fix! Looks like you are having a blast!
Love San Fran! My first Stitch fix arrives Tuesday – soo excited 🙂
What a fun time! I’ve never been to San Fran. How is the weather right now?
I tried Stitchfix once last spring and they sent me the strangest stuff when I requested “business casual” items for the office. I got a terry cloth blazer, a bright green bracelet with anchors on it, a black sweater with see through sleeves, an army green very loose bohemian top, and a zebra striped skirt. It was so random. Haha, maybe I need to be more specific.
Looks like such a nice trip! I have never been to Cali but San Fran looks like a place I should put on my must go -to list!
Such a great trip. Wow, I love all of those things. I hope you guys are enjoying your time here in SF. It’s a little bit warmer this week for you, but beware the temperature drops in the wind. Always layer! Have fun!! 🙂
so great that you get to go on fun trips like this. love love love SF!
I just signed up for Stitch Fix yesterday. I’m so excited to see what they stylists chooses for me!
You ladies are the cutest! What a FUN trip. Sounds right up my alley! 😉
Wish you were here, Ashley! One day we will meet!! 🙂
Those stackable bracelets are so cute! Looks like you’re having so much fun in San Francisco! That’s one of my favorite cities so I’m sure you’re having a blast!
San Francisco is so fun! I wish I had more time here!
What a blast. I love hearing about your stitch fix adventures. Maybe one day I will jump on the stitch fix train and get some cute new clothes!
If you choose not to keep anything from a fix do you lose your $20 or do you get credit for it? That has always been my reservation–I’m afraid I won’t like anything enough to keep it and waste the $20. :/
You lose the $20 if you return everything. 🙁
You lose the $20 if you don’t keep anything. They do have a great referral program open to everyone though and if anyone signs up using your referral link, you get a $25 credit, so that can be a nice way to try it for free if you know anyone else who might want to try it, too!
Wow this looks like an amazing experience! Have fun – it looks BEAUTIFUL there!
What a beautiful place! Those products look awesome, I have actually always wanted to try “yes to” products. And what cute clothes! I am so jealous of all of your amazing travels. I hope you have so much fun!
xoxo
Rachel
Me too! This is my first time trying Yes To stuff and I’m loving the cucumber makeup remover wipes and the grapefruit face wash. So refreshing!
Sounds like you’re having an incredible time! Can’t wait to hear more about the trip 🙂
LOVE your skirt and top!!
Thank you!
I love your skirt! Looks like an awesome trip!!
You lose the $20 if you return everything.
Its official: You have the BEST JOB EVER. I love San Fran and I am so jealous!
I LOVE your outfit!! Are the top and skirt both from Stitchfix? I must have them – so cute!
You seriously have the best job ever! Looks like an amazingly fun trip. I am such a chump studying for my medical boards, not seeing sunlight for days at a time, haha. Need to check out StitchFix!
SO SO fun!! Love your black & white outfit!
Have the White Plum giveaway winners been chosen?
Yes! You can see the winner’s names on the rafflecopter widget right now but I’ll share them publicly on the blog tomorrow!
I can’t even believe this is real life. Like seriously. How did you get hooked up with this trip? So fun!
I got an email from the company last year and stayed in touch with some of the women at StitchFix who are awesome!
That looks like an amazing trip!
This trip looks like so much fun and the stitch fix offices seem so cool. My last fix was super disappointing and now I’m hesitant to try again. All the clothes, accessories and bags you show here though are soo cute, so I might just have to give them another shot.
If you make a Pinterest board, I think that helps! I also request items I see others talk about that I think are cute! 🙂
That looks like such a fun trip! I love that green pullover sweatshirt. I think Kath got that in one of her shipments too.
Love your maxi skirt! Such cute clothes!
SF looks like somewhere I need to put on my vacation wish list, your townhouse looks so cozy!
And I’m doing over that tiny turqoise cross body, so SUMMERY! I also love your maxi skirt, where did you find it??
Can we talk about how cute you look ? I LoVE your outfit! So cute! Looks like a TON of fun in a beautiful place! ENJOY!
Thank you, Stacy!
Where’d you get your skirt? Love it.
Nordstrom Rack!
Buena Vista Irish Coffees are awesome! Also, your hair is getting sooo long! I’m trying to grow mine out now….any suggestions/tips?
I wish I was living in the US so I could get a stichfix 🙁 I still get my birchbox subscription sent to my parents’ house and enjoy getting those when I go home to visit.
