Breakfast
Following the gym, I ate a banana as I prepared a batch of scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Today’s batch of scrambled eggs included two eggs, apple chicken sausage and zucchini. It hit the spot!
Funny Pet Names
After breakfast, Ryan and I took Sadie on her morning walk.
I laced up my favorite pair of Reebok SmoothFlex run sneakers (first mentioned here) and also had a chance to try Reebok’s seamless long bra top that the company sent me to try.
The tank is really comfortable and I love the breathability and heather blue color.
An added bonus? The length! I hate it when workout tops are too short and this one is nice and long.
Back to our walk!
During our morning walk with Sadie, we ran into our neighbor who was out walking her dog, PeeWee. PeeWee’s name suits him perfectly, as he’s a tiny little thing with a big personality.
After saying hello, Ryan and I started talking about some of the funniest dog names we’ve heard throughout the years.
The dog park where we used to bring Sadie to run and play in Orlando was the perfect place for overhearing amazing dog names.
Our favorites:
- Cheese
- Frank
- Little Dog
I think Cheese is my all-time favorite dog name. When I heard the guy yell, “CHEESE! Get over here!” I almost lost it. So unexpected!
We also thought it would’ve been funny to name Sadie something that didn’t fit her at all. Like “Spot.”
Question of the Day
- What is the funniest or most amusing pet name you’ve heard?
When I was a little girl, we had a cat named Silly Billy, but I think Cheese takes the cake!
I had a cow name funny face. His head was a long and lean unlike most cows. Now that I think about it it was kind of a mean name. He was a great cow though.
Cheese! That’s so funny!! My friend has a dog named Henry, which I think is just adorable!
Our neighbor had a bulldog named Meatball and we always joked that his mom was probably named Spaghetti!
My dog’s name is Aumlette (pronounced like omelet). My dear husband named him. I thank him each and every time Aumlette digs under the fence and gets out and I have to drive around yelling “omelet” out the window. My neighbors must think I am crazy.
that is SO great! ha!
I have NO idea why but I name all my vehicles and I named my old Tahoe Omelet lol!! It eventually shifted to Hamlet, not totally sure why ..
My grandma use to breed Jack Russell Terriers and one couple who got a puppy named him Dog, but pronouced like Dee-O-G
Pretty cute 🙂 My one Husky is named Chase, Chase the Dog 😉 Lame but cute 😛
Thats funny. My dogs name is D.O.G :] DEE OHH GEE
And I have a chihuahua named Kujo
My great aunt did that too… Dee Ohh Gee (D-O-G)… I thought it was a great name 🙂
I have a german shorthair pointer& we decided to name her Mocha Frappuccino! Lol we are coffee lovers& the name Mocha suits her well 🙂
OMG, Frank! I love it when pets have human names! My family named our dog, Abby, when we saw a “dear Abby” column posted on the bulletin board at the rescue shelter where we got her. We often call her “Gail” because it sounds refined and sophisticated, which Abby is not! And, of course, we think it’s funny!
My dog’s name is Axell Rose I couldn’t decide what to name her, and a GNR song came on the radio and I knew Axell was it. Since she was a girl, I looked online and tried to find a female spelling of it and found “Axell”. I want to say it was African? But even with her bright pink collar everyone who sees her calls her a boy!
Eeeek! You post this as I am trying to figure out if I want to take the plunge and get a dog. (I know someone who rescued some puppies, and I think I’m going to take a look today!) It’s a sign!
If I get a dog, I’m going to name her MR F. (It’s an Arrested Development reference, so it’s hilarious if you watch the show)
My husband and I are thinking of naming our next pet ‘Mr. Manager!’
CanNOT wait for the new season!!
This just made my day. You guys are awesome.
I can’t either!!
Ahh! geeking out right now!
Sally Sitwell would be a perfect name for a dog.
I’m visitor who just found this blog googling “cat named Mr. F” as I was thinking about a adopting a cat named “Mister” who is at my local shelter. It’s a great name for any pet! Sally Sitwell, too. Buster Bluth. Lucille Two. Mrs. Featherbottom…
oh my gosh cheese for a dogs name is definitely something I would never think to name a dog. I once met a little french bull dog names Mr. Bean!
The funniest dog name I hear was a dog name D-O-G prounouced
dee-oh-gee.
i died laughing..
Someone I knew named their shi tzu “Dylan” which I thought was the worst human name for a dog ever. One of the dogs from my dog’s rescue is named Beans which I love. Beans!
I knew someone who named their tiny little dog “Dorito”. It made no sense at all!
My best friend named her tiny little dog Reuben. I crack up every time I hear it!
P.S.
My dog just so happens to be a Sadie as well. 🙂
I’d have to say Paper is the funniest dog name I’ve ever heard. Our dog is named Susan (she is a german shorthair pointer), she is a rescue so she came with the name but we kept it cause she is such a lady like, almost calm gsp which is really rare. When people ask her name and I say Susan, they always think I mean my name is Susan.
that IS rare for a gsp! they’re such beautiful dogs. 🙂
Wow my above reply shows why you should always read over things prior to posting them. Anyway, I’ve had dogs all my life and never got as many comments on how pretty my dog is until I got Susan.
My neighbour has two little French bulldogs named “frank” and “beans”!
that is adorable!
When my boyfriend’s brother’s family got a puppy they asked there daughter, who was three at the time, what she wanted to name him; the winning name was Crayon.
My parent’s dogs are Corky and Mocha…not very normal but totally fit them.
I have a co-worker who’s dogs name is Sargent Pancakes!
I want *my* name to be Sargent Pancakes! 😉
My friend named his dog Cooter. Big Dukes of Hazzard fan! 🙂
When I was about 5 I named my Grandma’s cat Fatso!
My good friend has a dachshund mix named Pony. Somehow it suits the dog perfectly. My guys are Salinger and Picasso. You’d be surprised at the number of people who don’t know who J.D. Salinger or Picasso are!
Marci
My brother once had a cat named “It”. I am not sure how the name came about but definitely not something I would have chosen, lol!
Haha! I love the name Cheese for a dog. So random! I love when I hear people get angry at their dog and call them by their first and middle name. I never thought to give a dog a middle name.
I think I remember hearing that the singer Pink named her dog something vulgar, so that she can scream it on a regular basis…
When I was a kid, I decided it would be a good idea to name my spotty dog “Spots”. Try calling that out. It makes you sound like you have a lisp. But, I wanted to be different.
My mom’s boyfriend has a dog named “Cheeto”. If I get another cat, I have already planned to name him Charles Foster Kitty (AKA Citizen Chubbs). I love Orson Welles.
we named my first dog Fendo. it was the name of my imaginary friend when i was young. apparently i was very creative with names. ever meet anything named Fendo? i think not. one of a kind! hah
I got my cat when I was full into my Jane Austen obsession (see the name of my own blog to see how much I’m still enamored), so that’s what I named my cat. It just seems to fit her.
My best friend just got a new kitten a few months ago and his name is Kevin. I find that a funny name for a cat, but it also seems to fit him.
ha! that is a funny name for a cat, but i like it.
I love how Rob (of Ridiculousness and Big & Rob, etc.), the skater guy, named his dogs BEEFY and MEATY!
I also think it’s funny when people name their dogs human names. I have a dog named Sara (she came to us with that name), and we have a friend who named their dog KEVIN! There are some human names that can go both ways, either dog or human, but Kevin just cracks me up!
Hehe Cheese is a good one! My friend used to have a little Bichon Frise and it was so so tiny, so she figured he needed a big name. He was called Sir, and was definitely treated like one too!
Cheese! Thats funny. Makes me think of Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends.
I’m pretty sure my mom had a dog growing up named “brown dog” so original.
A friend of mine has a dog named “LaFonda”. We have some Mexican restaurants here in Atlanta called LaFonda, and she and her husband ate lunch there after they visited the Humane Society and were trying to decide whether or not to get a dog that day. The name stuck and now they have the pleasure of yelling “LaFonda! Come!” at the dog park. hahaha
How did you come up with the name Sadie?! It’s so cute and perfect for her!!
i honestly don’t remember! we had a lot of names in the running and i think sadie was just one we both liked immediately. 🙂
My neighbor used to have a great dane named Tinkerbell! I always LOVED that. She was as big as a horse, but such a gentle dog!
We found a dog wondering around our house a few months ago. We posted him up on Craig’s List and found his owner. We were calling him Charlie. When they picked him up they said his name was Smoothie!! I thought that was such an odd name but it kind of fit him!
I am not yet responsible enough for a dog, but we’re thinking about getting a cat–and I have this powerful urge to name the cat Professor Fudge. My fiance is not on board yet but I’ll get him.
I was walking my dog one day and we ran into a pair of dachshunds named Oscar and Meyer – loved it!
I have a long hair kitty named Puff Daddy. I he seems to like it. 🙂
Cheese is most definitely the winner! Hilarious! My dog’s name was Sugar 🙂
We rescued our fur baby and he came with the name Harley. He has a white spot on his butt that looks like a shark, so his full name is Harley Mako… We hardly ever call him by his real name and just call him Boog (as in booger). I don’t know why or how it came about but it’s stuck and he is my Boog!!!
When I was little, I had a guinea pig named Snow White. But then she got dark spots all over her so… then it was kind of odd!
But Cheese is hilarious!
TOO funny!! My husband and I just got our first dog last week…a tiny little Morkie (Maltese Yorkie mix) and named him Waffles!!
My parents have a Pomeranian named Waffles. I love food names for dogs.
awww!
Growing up my family had a shelty named Smurf. We got him as a puppy and he was so small my brother decided his name had to be Smurf.
I have a big ol’ fluffy golden retriever, and I love them because they are so lovey and cuddly, but generally aren’t the sharpest crayons in the box :). I met a golden once named Moose, and I LOVE that name. It sums up a golden perfectly 🙂
my neighbor in college had a golden retriever named moose! I always thought it was a great name.
My grandparents had a dog named Hoover. When she had puppies they kept one and named her Kirby.
A guy in our former apartment complex had two dogs named “lunchbox” and “Buddy lee”
hahahhaha!
My sister had this yellow dog she named Nacho. He went my Nacho Cheese often.
I love our doggies’ names-Penny-Su and Piper Mint. People laugh because they have middle names. Why is it weird that they have middle names?
My parents have dogs named Snickers and Copper and we gave Snickers an unofficial middle name of Hershey because he’s a corgi and looks like a hershey bar.
I have two for you! My friends’ dog is name BD. It stands for Brown Dog. The other is a dog we had when I was a kid. My brother (he was 4 at the time) wanted to name him Louis. We vetoed and asked him to pick again. We ended up with Wally because we hated to veto him twice!.
My dogs name is harleyyybear yes that is right 3 y’s and I love it. I also have a small cute scaredy cat dog named hunter… I was hoping it would make him more masculine haha! I love weird dog names! And I think I have a thing for H’s
I’ve had a cat named Cat (ha!) and another cat named ‘Catty Shack’ 😉
When my Mom was first married, her aunt gave them a cat named Hallelujah. The cat also had a sister named Amen. Unfortunately, both of these cats would occasionally go missing, forcing my Mom to walk up down the street yelling HALLELUJAH!!!!! or AMEN!!!!! like a crazy person. She also had a cat named PV, a dog named Diamond, and when I was little, I named my dog K.D.- short for Krista’s dog. I was 2, what can I say….
LOL!!!! i am dyinggggg.
OMG! That’s awesome!!!
I do think that is my favorite…
My friend’s dad has been wanting to get a Mastiff and name him “Tiny” which I thought was as hilarious as it is wrong.
Another friend of mine has two dogs named Guinness and JD (Jack Daniels)!
