Gleeful Morning

June 5, 2011 by Julie 67 Comments

What a great start to a Sunday!

My day began slowly. After awaking around 7:30 a.m., I remained in bed with my laptop propped up, streaming an episode of Glee from Netflix with Sadie curled up by my side. I’ve downloaded many songs from Glee, but haven’t watched more than one episode. I’m starting from the beginning with the first season and am already hooked.

It has everything! Juicy teenage gossip, a smokin’ hot teacher (I love you, Matthew Morrison), upbeat songs that make me want to drop everything and pursue a career on Broadway and a hilariously psychotic antagonist. Needless to say, I’m a fan.

Eventually I rolled out of bed and headed downstairs to make myself breakfast.

Breakfast

A super-chocolaty smoothie sounded perfect!

In the mix:

  • 1 1/2 c. almond milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 c. frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tsp. xanthan gum
  • 1 tbsp. ground flax seed
  • 1 handful fresh spinach

Farmer’s Market

Once I was done eating, I took Sadie on a walk to the downtown Orlando farmer’s market to scope out some fresh produce for the week.

As we walked around the lake, we saw three separate families of swans with multiple cygnets!

We also ran into Catherine and Annie, two super-nice blog readers – Hi guys!

Eventually we made it to the market where I purchased a small basket of Brussels sprouts.

I would’ve bought more, but as I was walking out the door, I grabbed the cash in my wallet, thinking I had a $20 in there. Sadly, I showed up with only $3! Sadie and I may make a second trip there today. I’m sure she won’t mind!

My agenda for today is filled with odds an ends.

  • Grocery store
  • Gym
  • Vacuum
  • Laundry
  • Hair cut
  • Start freelance article
  • Sort through clothes to giveaway
  • Organize closet

The best part of my day?

Ryan is coming home!!!

Ryan has actually been away on a hiking trip with three other guys for the past week. They left last Saturday and he’ll be returning TODAY! I didn’t want to mention him being gone on the blog for safety reasons, but I’ll be so glad to have him back.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’ve actually never watched an episode of Glee and was never interested enough to tune in…but after seeing that picture, I’d say I’m slightly more intrigued now. 😉

So glad to hear Ryan’s coming home today!

Isn’t he so hot?! I could eat him for breakfast. Kind of like that smoothie. Xanthan gum makes everrrryything better.

I feel you on the “safety reasons”, I think it’s all the things that my madre taught me when I was a kid! I am so glad you two will be reunited, now you have to get him hooked on glee!

I loved the first season of Glee, but it’s definitely gone completely downhill this year. I can’t watch an episode for more than 5 minutes without cringing. Ugh.

And I don’t know what it is about Matthew Morrison’s face, but he TOTALLY reminds me of Squidward. You know, from Spongebob Squarepants! My mind – yeah, I don’t even know these days… Haha.

Never watched season 1 while it was on, but fell in love with it during re-runs over the summer, now I can’t stand it. I love musicals but this one just doesn’t do it for me.

I have added my smoothie ingrediants to the shopping list. I can’t wait to try one!

Farmer’ Markets kinda scare me. I am so anti-veggie. As much as I want to try the foods it’s overwhelming for me. Maybe someday.

I am a Glee fanatic! I have seen every episode and make sure that I’m home on Tuesday nights (during the season) to watch it! I really only watch 2 TV shows regularly, Glee and Bones. It’s my little guilt pleasure and provides a much needed mental break from my science and statistic filled days. If I’m feeling lazy, sometimes I hit up Hulu or Netflix and watch a few episodes tucked away in my bed! It makes me wish I wasn’t completely devoid of any musical talents 🙂
