Good sleeps were had by every single member of the Fagan household last night.
On our drive to the gym this morning, I commented that I slept like a rock last night and Ryan said he slept like a log. Sleeping like an inanimate object is always a good thing!
We agreed that Sadie must’ve slept well, too, because neither of us remember her moving a muscle.
She’s wide awake now, of course. It’s Monday, or, as Sadie would call it, the BEST DAY EVER because every day is the best day to her.
Workout
Late last week, participants of Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp were emailed the workouts for weeks three and four of the program. I jotted down the workouts last night and headed to the gym this morning ready to tackle a lower-body workout.
The workout incorporated five minutes of cardio between supersets of various leg exercises.
I am really enjoying the boot camp program because it’s introducing me to completely new exercises I’ve never tried before, like the surrender squat.
Starting on your knees, you simply stand up and lower yourself back down onto your knees and repeat, leading with the same leg until you’re done with a set and move onto the next leg and do it all again. (Watching the YouTube video makes a lot more sense!)
I did the surrender squats while holding two dumbbells and Ryan was working out nearby and called over to me, saying, “That looks brutal.”
It was challenging, but in a great way and I could feel not only my legs working, but my core stabilizing my body as well.
I also really like how the boot camp seems to include a lot of moves you can do at home with a simple set of free weights. I like no-fuss workout!
Speaking of no-fuss, if you workout at home and are looking for some sweaty workouts to tackle in your living room, you may be interested in a previous post that popped up on the blog about At Home Workouts that require absolutely no equipment… not even free weights! Love ‘em!
Breakfast
When we arrived home, it was time for breakfast.
Egg sandwiches for all!
1 whole wheat English muffin + 2 fried eggs + muenster cheese + raspberry jelly
And now to touch on the big event from this weekend…
Goodbye, 4Runner
This weekend a big decision occurred in our family.
We sold Ryan’s 4Runner!
The whole situation happened very quickly last week.
My mother-in-law’s boyfriend, Les, bought a new car and wanted to sell his old truck. Les knew Ryan was in the market for a vehicle just like his and made him a very attractive offer.
Les kept his truck in fantastic condition and it had low mileage and Ryan was smitten from the minute the offer was placed on the table. Ryan and I discussed the decision and it made sense financially, so we started to think about selling Ryan’s 4Runner.
Ryan knew my sister’s boyfriend Ross might be interested in his 4Runner since his current vehicle had a long list of serious problems.
So, after a lot of paperwork, a lot of driving and two fast swaps this weekend, Ryan’s 4Runner is gone and we have a new truck!
As Ross drove off with Ryan’s 4Runner last night, Ryan and I were a little emotional. Saying goodbye to a car you’ve had for years is a little sad!
Ryan’s 4Runner has been with us through three moves, an engagement, a wedding, picking up puppy Sadie, several road trips and vacations and a lot of fun. We’ll miss it a lot!

I just bought my first “adult” car and was so sad saying goodbye to my ’99 Honda. The thing was literally falling apart and I LOVE my new car – but couldn’t help but shed a tear!

Oh I like that 4Runner. I haven’t seen new ones I guess, but that one is nice.
I need to try surrender lunges.

I love how things magically workout in mysterious ways… Just gotta have faith!
