Has anyone started reading this month’s book club selection?
I ended up staying up entirely too late reading last night.
For some reason this book makes me incredibly antsy and uneasy. I keep waiting for something awful to happen as I read each page which makes me read it for an inordinate amount of time every time I sit down with the book. I only have 30 pages or so left, so I’m assuming I’ll finish it at bedtime tonight. It definitely draws me in!
Speaking of reading, are any of you guys on Goodreads?
The website is pretty darn cool and allows you to keep track of the books you’ve read, browse books your friends are reading and receive recommendations for books you may like based on the ratings you give to other books you’ve read.
That’s a little glimpse of my Goodreads ratings page.
You may find me on Goodreads here. Let’s be friends!
Workout
This morning’s workout was the same as last Monday’s boot camp workout, but the tempo of every exercise changed, making it even harder. I actually had to decrease my weights on several of the exercises to make it through the workout without compromising my form.
Just like last week, the Bosu lunges kicked my butt. One day lunges won’t make me want to keel over. One day.
Breakfast
I think I may have a muesli obsession. After eating muesli overnight oats several times last week and making muesli almond date bars yesterday, you’d think I’d be muesli-ed out.
Not so!
I actually made granola with the muesli over the weekend as well and could not stop eating it by the handful. Something about all of the nuts, seeds and dried fruits simply calls to me!
Question of the Morning
- What food can you currently not get enough of every day?
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
Museli is really good! I’ve only had it once but I have a big bag of it in my pantry. I should really try some of your recipes with it. 🙂
I eat a banana every single day. I love them.
Stephanie @ Legally Blinde says
I pretty much have to have a banana and some sort of nut butter every day, whether it be peanut butter, almond butter, or sunflower seed butter. Yummm.
Mallory @ Have Your Cake says
believe it or not ive never tried muesli. im not a huge dried fruit fan as it is so sweet, but i should give it a try!
Jana @ Newly Wife Healthy Life says
I swear that I have to eat at least a spoon full of peanut butter everyday. If I don’t have it at breakfast than I have it for a snack, if not a snack than as a dessert, etc! One way or another, I end up eating a little each day!
Justine @LifeWithCheeseburgers says
PB on crackers. 🙂 I have at least a couple of them every day after dinner (and lunch, if I’m at home).
Mmmm…
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I finished the book in two days! It was so hard to put down! It was really good, although CeeCee made me mad at times! Can’t wait for your review of it!
I have to check out that Goodreads website!
Antonia @ healthinspirations says
Totally agree, those bosu lunges are hard! I lost my balance a couple of times and ended up entertaining the people at the gym. I’m really enjoying the bootcamp though. I love being challenged and having a workout plan to follow makes my gym sessions so much more organized.
Right now, I can’t get enough of raspberries, mango and the chocolate fudge brownie I baked yesterday 🙂
Katie says
I have an obsession with avocado…I could eat one like I eat an apple. Have an avocado, mozz cheese, and spinach quesadilla wrap almost every night for dinner because I crave it!
Elisabeth says
I am ADDICTED to Goodreads! I’ve been on it for about 2 years and love keeping track of my reading on there. It’s fun to go back and look over what I’ve read & to find suggestions based on that. I also belong to the 100+ books per year group (which I seem to come so close to making every year…but not quite). Do you belong to any group?
Hillary says
I eat Greek yogurt every single day. It’s so good and it keeps me so full—and it’s also crazy versatile. I feel like I can eat it at every meal!
Although, I eat chocolate on a daily basis, too. Doesn’t look like I’m getting sick of that one anytime soon ; )
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I LOVE Goodreads too!! I joined just last month and loooovveeee it. I sent you a request 😉 I am a book geek too, so this should be fun! haha
I love a good, had workout! Off to get mine!
peanutbutterfingers says
request accepted! 😀
Coco says
Greek Yogurt.. and Almond butter (I’ve been making my own and its amazing if I do say so myself 🙂 .. I’m obsessed.
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Peanut butter and bananas … it’s getting a little ridiculous. 😉
Lindsey says
Right now Peanut Butter Cheerios, but usually peanut butter anything!
Kattrina says
For some strange reason I can’t get enough Subway Veggie Delight sandwiches. Random. So this week I decided to make my own Subway sandwiches since there is really no mystery to my sandwich ingredients: bread, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and olives. So that is what I’m having for lunch!
Kelly @No Thanks to Cake says
I am obsessed with the very same sandwich and remain convinced that it would be different if I made it at home. How did yours come out??
The girls at subway act surprised when I order the very same sandwich nearly every day.. Love them!
Krista @ A Belle in DC says
My latest obsession is cookie butter from Trader Joe’s. I think it’s similar to Biscoff spread. I mean, it’s ground up cookies in a peanut butter consistency. Of course it’s ridiculously good. It has to be terrible for you, yet delicious. However, I’ve had a tablespoon for dessert pretty much every day since I’ve bought it. It is so, so delicious.
Laurie says
I’m a big Goodreads fan, especially the recommendations. I do wish it had a “we don’t recommend this” section based on your ratings, but other than that, it is awesome!
Miroslava says
Hallo, i breakfast apple, banana and strawberry every day, i love it 🙂
Lena @ Fit on the Rocks says
I’m a tad obsessed with almond butter and Iced Oatmeal Cookie Z Bars. Those things are so freakin good.
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
Goodreads is awesome – it’s like Facebook for book lovers.
Right now my current obsession is Greek yogurt!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I love muesli too! I’ve been making my own lately and am working on perfecting the recipe before posting, but like you, I’m in love! I also can’t get enough of tempeh for some reason, and i’m not even vegetarian! My favourite way to have it is on a toasted sandwich with a portobello mushroom cap and hummus. Yumm! 🙂 Happy Monday Julie!
Jen @nutcaseinpoint says
I CANNOT stop shoveling oats to my face! My fave combo right now is mixing w/ espresso protein powder, chia seeds, almond milk, and almond butter. Mmm in mah belly!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
That’s how every single Jodi Picoult book makes me feel. Love them and hate them at the same time for it.
peanutbutterfingers says
i read one jodi picoult book and while i thought it was good, it was just so depressing!
Steph @ StephSnacks says
Yes! I just started reading this book last night… I’m only around page 10 or so, but I’m liking it so far.
Yellow Haired Girl says
Mine is, and always be, Greek yogurt. Can’t stop eating it, won’t stop eating it 😉
Erika says
Pineapple Chobani and Cheddar Soy Crisps. yum!
Heather says
Definitely could not get sick of chocolate. But on the healthier side, frozen yogurt or strawberry Chobani, yum. Also, I definitely empathize with your feelings on lunges, especially one-legged ones. Seems like no matter how many I do, they still burn like crazy.
Meg says
Yes! I love goodreads! I think I’m under Meg Bailey.
Theresa says
i love love love bananas…i usually have one every day! cant get enough of them 🙂 chobani is another one too…yum!
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
I love Goodreads! It’s fun to look through the listed books and remember books that I read and loved years ago and to get recommendations for new books that I would otherwise probably never find!
And I’ve been loving eggs over easy served on top of anything (toast, veggies, sandwiches, grains you name it!)! I love the runny yolks!
Kate @ ibrokemyumbrella says
I love GoodReads! I also really like your book recommendations. You know your stuff!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I havent had Muesili in years but you’re making me CRAVE it!!!
Pam says
Cereal! the sugary chocolatey goodness kind that I shouldnt’ be eating! I think trying to stay around 1200 calories is making me crave carbs and I’m caving every time to cereal! LOL
Jessica says
I recently started reading your blog and was really excited when I saw that you also do a book club! The March book came at perfect time, as I had been looking for a new book to start. I was unsure at first if I’d like the book, not something I’d typically choose, but I’m really enjoying it! I feel the same way…I keep waiting for something bad or crazy to happen. Definitely a page turner! I’m looking forward to your review 🙂
Thanks for all the great food and exercise ideas!!
faith @ for the health of it says
I absolutely can’t get enough eggs! I’d be perfectly happy to have them at all of my meals.
Lily says
I go through phases like that too where all I want to eat is one. Haha. Lately, I’ve been OBSESSED with the vegan Boca burgers…and I’m not even vegetarian! They are that good!
Emily N says
I started the book last night as well. I am now “12% complete” according to my kindle. I forced myself to put it down because I knew that 4:30 am was going to come very quickly!
Kerry @ Totes My Oats says
I need some kind of nut butter every day!
Rachelle says
I am on GoodReads too! Love that website, I have a lot of books I want to read. Sent a friend request. 😀
Cat @ Breakfast to Bed says
dates. pitted dates. I love them like whoa.
BTW, love goodreads!
Melissa says
umm did you know that the sequel to Divergent is coming out?!?! “Insurgent” has been pre-ordered and will be delivered to my kindle on May 1, 2012! I hope you’re as excited about this as I am.
peanutbutterfingers says
i pre-ordered it, too!!!
Jen says
I cannot get enough strawberries right now!!
Katy @ A Shot of Life says
I can’t get enough of the new passion fruit Chobani. I’ve been buying it buy the case and have to keep myself from having one at every meal. 😉
I’ve never heard of Goodreads… I’ll have to check it out!
Nescett @ bananaoats says
I always do this with food! And with music too. When I find something I like I kinda OD on it. Right now it’s Whole Foods Wheat Waffle cereal and John Mayer’s new single Shadow Days.
🙂
Justine @LifeWithCheeseburgers says
Cottage cheese, oatmeal, peanut butter, and fruit. Pretty much every single day.
Oh, and I sort of have an affinity for hot tamales. I won’t say how big the bag was that I just finished working my way through! I’m trying to switch over to dried fruit to still get that chewy texture, without that whole rotting-the-teeth effect 😉
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I made a goodreads account a while ago but I actually haven’t gotten back on there in about two months! I keep a list of books I’ve read and books I want to read on my iPhone, so that’s plenty to keep up with!
Courtney says
Thanks for sharing the Goodreads site! I am a total book nerd and just joined! I sent you a request too 🙂
Lindsay @ FuelMyFamily says
Theres something about overnight oats that I just don’t care for much. I will eat them if i know i will want extra sleep in the morning and take my breakfast in the car but I am all about hot oats or cold cereal.
I currently cant get enough bananas. Weird because i tradionally think of them as one of my least favorite fruits but i eat at least 1-2 a day right now. They are just so easy, versatile, cheap, and filling
Corrie Anne says
Good reads is fun!! I’m crazy for lentils and quinoa right now!!!
Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says
I had to use Goodreads a few years ago for a project in an English ed course in college. I haven’t been on since, but from what I remember it’s a pretty cool site!
Jordan@almondjay says
I am obsessed with the protein pancakes I have been making lately, but when I lived in Australia muesli was an every day item 🙂
