Taking care of some blog business, I wanted to let you guys know that I took some time to update the Travel page today!
The Travel page doesn’t include information about Florida (or Orlando, specifically), so if you’re looking for my Florida favorites, they may be found on the Orlando & Florida page.
Lunch
Lunch today was a bit painful to eat with my sensitive tooth, but it was tasty, so I guess that’s worth a little pain, right?
I made myself a MorningStar Farms California Turk’y Burger topped with ketchup, mustard, relish and tomato slices.
Roasted zucchini and a stick of string cheese served as my sides.
I roasted the zucchini slices in a 450-degree oven for about 15 minutes after tossing them in a bit of olive oil and seasoned salt. They were delicious!
Guys’ Favorite Outfits
This morning when I was catching up on headlines on MSN’s website, I clicked on a link to a slideshow detailing “17 Outfits Ideas Guys Love.” I typically find articles like that a bit frivolous and silly, but for some reason I clicked on the article this morning and just had to laugh at the following comment from “Chris.”
Really? I would bet $5,000 that Ryan has never heard of YSL or Alexander Wang. I don’t even know who Alexander Wang is, actually!
I then started to think about what outfits of mine I think Ryan likes best. I had to laugh to myself when I realized that he compliments me most when I’m in my pajamas, nasty gym clothes or loungewear. Perhaps that’s because that’s what he sees me in most frequently and Ryan is a pretty low maintenance guy. He says he likes my hair up best and always seems to gravitate toward a laid back look which is fine by me.
I’ve previously talked with my sister and girlfriends who say their boyfriends/husbands love certain looks best and thought it might be fun to share what outfit or look your partner (or ex-partner!) seems to like best.
Question of the Afternoon
- What outfit or look of yours seems to spark your partner’s attention?
Lauren @ Focused 2 Be Fit says
Haha, so true! That’s why a lot of the time they say, women dress for women. Men don’t care about a lot of the stuff we wear and quite often I find that they don’t like trendy clothes!
joelle (on a pink typewriter) says
Haha totally agree! My boyfriend doesn’t know the difference between Payless and Prada. He seems to like whatever I wear that makes me feel happy and special, regardless of what it is.
Catriona says
hahaha that’s so funny that they’d throw those brand names in there. What guy would really say that?!?
Marisa says
What a cute post! LOL 🙂 I think it’s so great that Ryan likes you best in relaxation mode! True love <3 Ha ha!
My boyfriend loves me in yoga pants & with my hair up, also! He just says, "You always look good, wear the first thing you put on and stop changing!"
Lara says
One word: spandex
Corrie Anne says
i don’t know those shoe designers either!! i think my husband compliments me when i feel like i look good. it’s the confidence, i think! 🙂
Sam @ The Real Pretty says
My boyfriend loves when I curl my hair — probably because I hardly ever do it. But I notice he always tells me I’m so cute when I’m wearing a big t-shirt and fuzzy socks (aka my pajamas).
Rachel says
I actually consult my BF on fashion choices a lot. I think because he doesn’t know a lot about women’s fashion, it’s easy for him to spot the ‘best look’ out of a few options. That being said, he is a guy, and like most guys, he prefers no clothes. 😀
I wonder what our guys would say if asked what looks of theirs spark our interest!
Amanda says
When I get dressed up, my fiance compliments me (I think because he knows he should)! But whenever I wear leggings/yoga pants he comments on the booty haha
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
My boyfriend loves me in leggings, workout clothes, pajamas, dark wash jeans and dresses. Kind of an eclectic list but I’m glad he likes what I wear!
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
Oh, and ruffles! haha
Julia says
my fiancee loves yoga pants and short running shorts. He also seems to think sweaty = sexy. I guess it’s just a guy thing, but he always seems to compliment me when I feel like I look terrible and not even notice when I’m all dressed up!
Lizzie says
Haha I thought of that Legally Blond scene too! Too funny.
Chrissy says
I’d have to agree with Lizzie, above! There is no way Chris is a straight man. I read this article earlier today and when I read Chris’ comment, all I could think about was Legally Blonde and Enrique, the pool boy’s comment, “Don’t stomp your last year’s Prada shoes at me, honey!” And then it hits Elle – “Enrique is gay!” No way has my man EVER known the brand of shoes I was wearing except when it comes to my running shoes with the name emblazened across the side!
I think I’ve always gotten the most compliments when I’ve worn a halter top/dress or one shoulder top/dress that shows of the shoulders.
Lily says
Yup, that was my first thought too–Chris, 38, is a gay man or perhaps the rare straight man who works in fashion. Typical males can’t tell a YSL from a Payless heel. My SO notices when I slap on some make-up and put myself together but he thinks I look cute no matter what.
Valerie @ FreshMutz says
My first thought on any man who know his shoes all too well: FOOT FETISH!
To each his own, I guess. My tootsies are gnarly from dancing and running.
Becca @ Blueberry Smiles says
Mine’s a typical guy……short skirts 🙂
Courtney says
I’m a nurse and I always get hit on when I’m in my scrubs. Sometimes I meet friends out for drinks after work and bc I get off late and it’s spontaneous I’ll end up at some nicer places where all the other females are in heels and dresses and I’m rocking the scrubs and sneakers and everytime I get a lot more attention. I think it’s a mixture of sweetness and it’s a conversation starter. “are you a nurse?” duh! Lol
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
With that comment Chris solidifies himself as the most metrosexual male I’ve ever “met”. Ha! My husband wouldn’t notice a YSL or Alexander Wang (whoever that is) shoe if it hit him smack in the face!
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
This isn’t an outfit but when I had long hair, guys ALWAYS noticed and complimented me when I straightened it. I think it was just because I didn’t do it often…
Stellina @ My Yogurt Addiction says
My BF loves when I wear high heels! Even though I am already 5’10!
Cheryl says
In the past, my boyfriends have always preferred no stockings/pantyhose. Ever. That’s hard to pull off in Pennsylvania.
Kelly says
Keith always compliments me when I feel nasty. I think he has this 6th sense that tells him to make me feel extra special whenever I think I look like death.
Jen @ Whittle My Middle says
My husband likes when i wear a nice top and jeans but nothing too fancy or over the top. Interestingly he told me one time he prefers minimal or no makeup on me. He said too many women over-do it on the makeup.
Nicole says
My b-friend and I kind of dress like the boy and girl version of one another. A lot of jeans, fleece, casual.
Sarra says
HAHAHA i’m literally lol-ing at that Chris comment. wow.
Kimberly (Sketch the Ebb and Flow) says
My boyfriend likes the majority of what I wear, but he has specifically said what he likes about how I dress is that my clothes are form-fitting without being TOO tight. Lately though I’ve been gravitating towards yoga pants most of the time, and I don’t think he’s even noticed. haha
Joss says
anything with lace…
he also has a thing for skirts stalkings and heels…
But – he also compliments when I’m a bum in my trackpants/jammies 😛 Best of both worlds!
Lacey says
ALL BOYS LOVE SUNDRESSES. why is this? every boy i’ve dated loves a girl in a sundress…and i’m not really a sundress type of girl…does anyone else relate?
i just asked my man why guys love girls in a sundress, and he simply replied, “easy access”
nice. and here i thought he liked my free people floral sundress for how it looked…
carmen says
just because you or ryan don’t know wang, doesn’t mean other guys don’t. i know many men who love sky rocket choos or loubs. loads of men have taste in high designer stuff esp shoes on women.
Georgia @ Trying Something New says
My partner loves me in anything that shows off my curves. Whether it’s a super tight dress, my yoga pants or nothing at all, as long as my curves are accentuated, it’s a good thing! Dressed up or down doesn’t matter, as long as I have a smile on my face 🙂
Carly @ Cooking With Carly says
My hubs definitely prefers workout clothes or something casual like jeans and a t-shirt….I almost always get compliments on how I look then, but NEVER after I spend 2 hours getting all dressed up….go figure!
Kaelin says
My DH likes it when I let my hair go and it gets curly, wavy. He also likes it when I have no make up on. I think he prefers when I wear casual stuff too, which is good because I am a pretty low maintenance girl. His idea of dressing up is a nice pearl snap and his clean cowboy boots ;). I love him though!
Julie says
My ex-boyfriend (currently single!) always loved when I wore sundresses and skirts (this is kind ofa no brainer) and always said he wished I wore polos and plaid more….umm, weird!?! I am NOT preppy at all and NEVER wore polos, or plaid, it was strange. So nice to hear that Ryan loves you in your comfies! Not to rat on my ex again, but while he was a fan of comfes, he really didn’t like yoga pants which are a go to for me.
Molly says
yeah the guy that made that comment about YSL, Louboutins, and Alexander Wang is definitely gay. haha
Valerie @ FreshMutz says
I think I am in the “nothing” train, too (but who isn’t). However, the hubby admittedly loves me in heels and make-up. Good thing because I love getting gussied up and it’s nice to know he appreciates the effort. As far as clothing goes, he likes anything stylish and well-fit.
Bianca @A Healthy Gourmet Lifestyle says
My boyfriend loves me in anything really. But his all time favorite is when I wear shorts with wedges and a flirty shirt.
Sarah says
MY DH is all over the board. I know he really likes red heels as does every other man I know.
Yesterday, he said how my he liked my outfit (long courdouroy skirt, white tank, fitted cardigan and brown leather boots) but not sure why as it was ultra conservative which he generally doesn’t like at all (but I do).
Krista @ Healthy Berg says
The guy that I’ve been seeing on and off again always loves it when I curl my hair. He almost always compliments me when it’s curled and if it’s not, many times he asks me to curl it!
Cher says
Jeans and a white tank is my fiances favourite outfit. He goes crazy!
Carrie says
Of course “Chris, 38” is going to notice a woman in Alexander Wang shoes… they’re $500+ a pair. All that says to me is to stay far away from the “Chris'” out there… he’s only interested because you clearly have money.
Jenna | The Paleo Project says
I don’t comment often, but this question really struck a chord with me because I talk about it ALL the time with my girlfriends. My boyfriend, James, hates the baggy top trend. Like literally, no matter what brand, or color, or whatever, it doesn’t matter, he thinks it’s too frumpy. It’s annoying because I love fashion and love different looks, and I know he’s always happiest when I’m wearing clothes that are fitted, even if they’re hideous. Men!
Amber K says
I had to laugh at the first comment because that is exactly my husband’s answer. Nothing at all. Otherwise, he really doesn’t care. I know he likes jeans, but he also likes leggings. He likes heels, but he’d prefer me in flats. He hates it when I’m in pain! I think it’s just because he wants to be taller. Which will never be a problem since he’s 6’8”.
Amber @ Busy, Bold, Blessed says
The dude in the article sounds like he knows a bit too much about shoes… is he really attracted to the girl or does he want to go shopping with her?! lol.
Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee says
Hahaha that guy is… not the usual! Personally though I might like a guy who cares about fashion, just cause he wouldn’t roll his eyes every time I go on about Fashion week or this designer or that designer! 🙂
Kali says
I completely understand when your significant other likes you in a “put together” look but when he knows the brand of shoes you buy either means two things…he’s chearing for the other team or he really is into fashion(which is like .5% of men). If a man finds you attractive in your work out gear or pj’s he’s meant to be!
