Happy Friday! How about a giveaway to kick off your Friday morning?
If you adore high-quality fruit, today’s giveaway will be right up your alley.
Back in October I had the honor of touring the incredible Harry & David orchards in Medford, Oregon with a handful of other bloggers. It was a truly unforgettable trip and I fell in love with the company, their delicious food and beautiful Oregon!
I’ve stayed in touch with the folks at Harry & David and was awfully excited when one of their incredible gift baskets showed up at my doorstep last Saturday.
The basket was the company’s Fresh Fruit Basket Deluxe and I immediately pulled all of the different kinds of delicious fresh fruit out of the basket to check out the goods!
As of this morning, Ryan and I have made our way through 90 percent of the basket and were, once again, impressed with the high quality of the fruit Harry & David delivered. Every single piece of fruit was blemish-free and full of flavor.
Naturally the company’s pears deserve a lot of praise, but I was particularly impressed with the quality of the mango, kiwi and pineapple in this basket!
I swear this stuff is like fruit candy. So sweet!
As for the gift basket itself, you better believe I kept it. We’re now using it as a pretty way to store towels.
And now here’s your chance to win your own Harry & David Fresh Fruit Basket Deluxe!
In the basket:
- 3 Royal Riviera Pears
- 4 Apples
- 2 Kiwi
- Papaya
- Pineapple
- Baby Bananas
- 2 Limes
- Avocado
- Mango
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me what fruit you’re most excited to try in the basket, or, if you’d like to send the basket to someone else as a surprise, please comment telling me who you’d send it to and why. I will randomly select a winner on Monday morning.
Good luck!
That’s the best looking pineapple I’ve ever seen cut open, haha. I’ve heard so much about those pears, I’d love to try them.
The pears! I’ve never had a H&D pear, so I feel like I need to try it. I never think to buy myself a fruit basket, so I’d love to win one!!! 🙂
I’d be thrilled to have all of the fruits but i’d probably be most excited for the mango! They were always my favorite fruit growing up but they are rarely ever in my household!
I can NOT get enough of mangos. They’re so delicious!
I’d love the tropical fruit to take my mind off freezing temps in Chicago!!
Wow! This entire basket looks so amazing! I would love to try the pears!
Id love to try the pears, now that you’ve mentioned them!
I eat an apple every day (to keep the doctor away, duh). That pineapple looks awesome! I was always intimidated by cutting a pineapple but it’s actually not that difficult. This basket looks awesome!
Well, all I’ve ever heard about are those famous pears! So like lots of other folks here, I’d love to try them for myself!
oh my! the Pineapple, Kiwi and Pears are probably the best i’ve seen!!! they look like they’d taste delicious!!!!! 🙂
My mouth waters every time I hear “Harry & David.” As much as I would love to try the pineapple and mango, I would love to send this basket to my parents. My parents do so much for me, and I think this would be a great way to say ‘thank-you.’ And my parents are fruit lovers! My dad is a total sucker for good citrus fruits which are hard to find in Chicago this time of year. I’m sure they would have the basket polished off in a couple days.
I don’t think there is a fruit in that basket I’m not excited to try!
The pears!!!looks so good would love to try them
I am a fruit fanatic 🙂 I would love to try the pears and the baby bananas!
I am most excited about the mango! However, I would love to share this basket with my husband because his goal for 2013 is to lower his cholesterol and stay heart-healthy! As a nursing student, I really try to incorporate the “patient teaching” about healthy living that I am learning in my classes and bring those lessons home with me.
I would give it to my bf, since he has been eating healthier – and taking care of me all week when I have been sick. I would be most excited about the pineapple, which I would have to talk him into sharing with me. 🙂
Well I’ve heard so much about their pears, so I would love to try them of course 🙂 But I’d say I’m the most excited about the avocado…it always seems like the avocados here in Iowa are less than stellar!
Mangos, kiwis, pineapple – love anything tropical!
I’d love to try the papaya! I have never tried one before so it would be a new food experience for me!
I want the pineapple and the pears! I’ve heard so many things about Harry and David pears and have been dying to try one!
Ooh, I love their pears!
Avocado – I can’t get enough right now! And, I didn’t know avocados are fruits – guess I have to stop counting them as my green veggie…
I’m most excited for the mangos!!! I LOVE mangos! Great giveaway!!
I would be ecstatic to have any of those fruits! I’m a fruit fein! But if I had to choose it would definitely be the juicy mango!
Looking forward to their pineapple and pears! mmm! Two of my favorite fruits 🙂 Thanks Julie!
Hi Julie! I would LOVE to try those pears. I’ve stayed away from pears since I was a kid because I don’t really like the grainy texture. BUT as I get older, there are way more things I’ve tried and loved so it’d be nice to incorporate one more thing into the mix…especially since I’ve heard such great things from you!
Yummmm!!! Pear and avocado are my faves 🙂
Although I would LOVE to try the avocado and pineapple, I’d give the basket to my grandma. She’s the sweetest person in the world but shes been quite sick for a long time now and delicious fruit would be the perfect pick me up! She loves sweets but it sounds like this fruit will be just as sweet as the desserts she likes!
I love fruit
After reading about how much you love the pears, I am so excited to try those!! They look amazing and I’m sure the other fruit is great as well. Huge fruit lover- right here! 🙂
Pineapple for sure. Its pretty cold and snowy here in Wisconsin so some sweet tropical fruit might put me in another state of mind!
I am excited about the papaya and the baby bananas?!? Those sound interesting and so exciting!!
I would definitely enjoy just about every fruit that comes in the basket, but my all time favorite is definitely pineapples. They look so delicious in your photos; I can only imagine what they would taste like! It makes me miss my vacation this past summer to Hawaii where pineapples ultimately made their way into just about every meal we had! 🙂
Good Morning,
I am so excited to see another giveaway, especially for this delectable and healthy treat! If I won the basket, I would share it with my Cycle for Survival Team: Team Sass on February 10th in Boston, Ma. Our team is already BEYOND excited about this event, and this beautifully displayed fruit would simply add to the camaraderie!
A great friend of mine was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor during the summer of 2011, and had surgery a year ago this February 14th. As a fund and spirit raiser, we are participating a team in the Sloan and Kettering’s Cycle for Survival cycle-a-thon to raise money for rare cancers. Feel free to check out our team page in the link below:

Since her diagnosis, Sarah and many of her friends and family have switched to a vegan lifestyle, so this basket would be the ideal snack for our team in between cycling shifts. Thanks so much for the opportunity, and good luck to the other contestants!
Jeanie
Oh my goodness! That looks incredible! I would dig into the papaya first…makes me think of Hawaii and my honeymoon 🙂
I would love to try the papaya and mango! We love fruit in our house!!
Limes and baby bananas!! I LOVE lime!
i would love to try the mango and baby bananas!
Definitely the mango! I am obsessed! I would give it to myself because who could pass up delicious fruit?! ;D
The pears and pineapple look so good! Anything from Harry and David is delicious!
I would love to try the pears! I have heard so much about them and have yet to try any of Harry & David’s produce. I do love mangos and all the other basket fruits listed as well!
The pears! After your earlier post I was craving pears. My grocery store ones just look sad compared to those Harry and David pears.
Although I would absolutely love to indulge in all the yummy fruit, I would send the basket to my old college roommates’ mom who recently was diagnosed with lung cancer. We live an hour away from each other so it would be quite the surprise! 🙂
I would love to try the kiwis! I love kiwis but rarely have a chance to eat them, yum!
I would love to try the pears & share the fruit basket with everyone in my townhouse because fruit can be expensive for college kids!
I know a lot of people don’t like papaya, but I love it – and so does my 1 year old!
Ooh I SO want to win this for my 9 month old baby boy!!! We have started to experiment with chunks of all kinds of fruit and he has yet to try kiwi.. So I’m most excited about kiwi in this basket 🙂 this basket would be great for my little man!
id love their pears obviously, but it’s a close call between those and the papayas…yum 🙂
It’s a tie between the pineapple and the pears.
I’m torn… either the pears or the avocado! Both sound so yummy!
