I was a little heavy handed with the olive oil in the kitchen this evening.
Care for some super-slick sausage, onion and peppers?
When I’ve made Italian sausage with peppers and onions in the past, I let everything cook in the oven. Tonight I cooked everything on the stove top because I wasn’t too hungry when dinnertime rolled around thanks to a later-than-usual afternoon snack and didn’t feel like putting a ton of effort my evening meal. While preparing this dish, I used a little too much olive oil. It was still yummy but a little too oily.
Since I am a VIP member of the clean plate club, I still ate every last bite.
And now, just for fun, how COOL is this?!?!
I saw this picture on Facebook earlier today and now I am on a mission to find this little place that I’ll call Heaven on Earth. Apparently there’s something similar at the TradeWinds Resort in St. Pete which means I may be paying them a visit this weekend since I’ll be in the Tampa Bay area for my mom’s birthday and my friend Leah’s bridal shower.
That fun water float also reminds me of another water toy that I’ve longed to find for years… THE BLOB!
If you’ve seen the movie Heavyweights you know what I’m talking about and probably have the same desire to experience The Blob firsthand.
Now I’m off to walk Sadie with Ryan and hopefully begin reading this month’s book club selection!
hahahaha I so rememeber that movie! thanks for the blast from my childhood!
How fun!! I have to see if we have one of those giant inflatable things in Chicago land!
I LOVED Heavyweights when I was a kid! I so wanted to jump on the Blob! And that “Waterpark” looks AWESOME! Will there be a follow up blog? Pleasepleaseplease? 😀
if i finally find out where it is and make it there, you better believe it!! 😀
I’m halfway through the book – it’s pretty good!
We used to have a blob at a man made lake near my house and it was SOOOO much fun. Until…a girl somehow got under it and couldn’t get out and died….ehhhh sorry for being a debbie downer! The blob is fun when you know how to swim!
that looks like so much fun!!
There is a blob at Camp Ozark! It was definitely as fun as it looks!
Those look like they’d be soooo much fun to play on! I’d feel like a kid again.
We used to have the blob at camp! I’d love having the counselors launch me off, I would go flying! Oh the good ole days 😉
My dream play toy is a water trampoline! I have asked for a trampoline overy birthday/christmas for the past 23 years 🙂
My parents always said they were too dangerous, but if you fall off of the water ones, well heck that’s even better!
Omg! I went to TradeWinds for a vacation a few years ago. They didn’t have THAT at the time (although I wish they did) but it’s an amazing hotel and I highly recommend it!
We were at TradeWinds in January to consider it for our wedding reception and there were people on their big float! It was 50 degrees tops, people are caaaaa-razy!…besides that little detail it looked like fun, albiet much smaller than the one above and obviously not nearly as awesome as the blob (because well, nothing is!)
OMG… there was a blob where we went for band camp during high school! Camp Duncan which is in Ingleside, IL (north of Chicago).
There is a “family camp” weekend that our church does and they have a blob. It always ends up being a weekend we can’t go for some reason so I have still yet to experience it. I’m with you though and think it would be SO cool!
My childhood summer camp had the blob! SO fun! 🙂
Haha I saw that on Facebook too! How cool would that be?!
that water obstacle course thing looks FANTASTIC! i would love to do that! crazy fun right there 😉
The YMCA I used to go to in Raleigh had a BLOB for their indoor pool. They used it for the summer day camp. I used look at it with envy while doing doggy paddle laps. I should probably learn to swim . . . but doggy paddling will make you sweat too!
OMG HEAVYWEIGHTS! Summer classic! i need to get on that
i went to a young life camp in high school in northern arizona that had a blob!! it was SO much fun!
I went to this camp for one of my retreats with my sorority in college… they have the blob!
Here’s the link… though I’m sure you have no reason to go there, I just thought you should know that… it does exist!!
http://www.campkulaqua.com/
OMG! I want to do that!
We had one of those blow-up obstacle courses indoors at an adult birthday party earlier this year. It was hysterically fun!
I always wanted to go on a Blob! That was one of my favorite movies growing up and I thought that would have been awesome. That, and the part where they have the giant bonfire and there’s pizza and candy and ice cream everywhere…
OH. My. GOSH. I neeeed that float in my life!!!
ALWAYS wanted to do the blob! And that place looks so, so fun!
I went to the camp that invented the blob 😉
And it is everything you think it would be and more! Looking back on it it actually seems a little terrifying, but I guess I was a brave kid.
That water park looks AMAZE.
Your blog makes me smile 🙂
The dinner looks delish, even if it’s a little slick…hehe
And the water park thing looks awesome.
Have a great night!
We used to do The Blob at summer camp when I was little! SO FUN!
I second the comment above – I live in Gainesville and went to Camp Kulaqua (http://www.campkulaqua.com/) for a sorority trip where they have the blob. The camp is located just north of Gainesville – so it’d be on the way to stop if you’re ever heading north… 🙂
Those looks so fun! Wish I had one to play with! 🙂
Check out my latest recipe, review and giveaway @ bakingblissful.blogspot.com
Haha! I bet that is so much fun!! I would feel like a kid again! 😀
This looks so fun! Love it!
The summer camp I went to growing up had a blob. It was the best when the counselors launched you. Ahhh bringing back good memories!
The blob is fantastic!!!!! And your meal looks pretty fantastic too…which is weird because it is 11 p.m. in the evening and I am in bed. But then maybe it isn’t too weird because I’m obsessed with food. Thanks for sharing!
At the beach about an hour away from where I live they’ve got two of the water trampolines. I remember going on them once a few years ago and it was awesome.
That first picture is absolutely insane though – I could spend hours on that thing!
Hahaha that floating thing is AWESOME!
That blob looks like lots of fun!
The Blob is SOOOOO much fun! Being small in high school made it easy for the bigger guys to make me fly high! Oh gosh to blob again! Haha
Today I bought a mister for olive oil. To keep from over doing it 😉 So far, so good!
Hi Juie!
Did you see my facebook comment on this post today? (or was it pinterest? haha).
Last year for our family cruise, my dad found this place called Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel, Mexico. It is basically an all-inclusive place where you can go all day (like an excursion) to play, drink, eat, etc. There is a pool, hammocks, the beautiful beach, kayaks, snorkeling, volleyball, bar swings, a swim up bar, and so much more!
However– best part is the “water park”! It has all sorts of FUN things like mini blobs, a huge “mountain” to climb and jump off of, little things to try to run across, trampollines, and so much more!!
You can look that place up OR they are also on facebook. We recently went with my husband’s class in May (they just graduated from UCF- Doctor’s of Physical Therapy), and it was so, so fun! Especially watching those intoxicated “try” to play and climb up all the pieces… 😉
I love the movie Heavyweights! 😉
The blob is the best! I’m surprised you haven’t experienced it. Even up here in Canada we have one;)
It was at a summer camp and I would go on it about 2000 times a day! It was the more fun thing about camp I think hah.
“Body…body!”
Oh that movie! One of the best scenes is the dance with the girls camp and Hans geeking out dancing.
I used to watch Heavyweights SO much back in the day- such a great film and I need to find a blob too :)!
I saw that water slide pic, too. Looks like SO much fun!! See, who said we HAVE to grow up? 😉
A camp that I am a counselor for every year has a blob!!! Our camp isn’t allowed to use it, but i’m always tempted to go for a “dip.”
omgsh I loove that movie! I’ve only watched it like, 15 times. hehehe. Well, maybe a lil less than that. 😛
Oh my god I remember that movie, good times! That does look like heaven; oh and I’m also a member of that club, love it! 🙂
We had the blob at summer camp. Frightening!
Ten points for referencing Heavyweights in your blog post. And two thumbs up for good measure.
