In chronological order:
- Father’s Day
- Blog travel (I’ll share more on this when I can!)
- Michaela’s bachelorette party in Chicago
- My sister’s 24th birthday
- FitBloggin’ in Portland
Lots of travel at the end of the month! I can’t wait to see some of my best girlfriends and blog buddies!
A few things that aren’t officially on my calendar that I would really like to do this month include:
- A day at a water park
- BBQ with our small group
- Trip to the dog beach
Clearly I am in the summer mindset!
Today
My day began at 4:20 a.m. with the obnoxious buzz of my alarm. I worked the early shift at the gym and also trained a new client which went really well. I’ll be training her again on Wednesday and Friday this week and am already looking forward to it!
Once my shift at the gym was over, I ate the lunch I packed and sent emails to some of my clients and worked on a few training plans for a while.
Tuna salad + Strawberries + Tomatoes + Kimmy wasabi seaweed
Then it was time for my workout! I changed clothes and hopped on the treadmill for a quick 20-minute workout.
After 20 minutes of cardio, I completed a TRX workout that incorporated lots of upper body exercises. It was tough and a nice change of pace.
Once I was done with my workout, I drove home and immediately made myself a smoothie. Since my lunch was on the lighter side, I was ready for more food right when I walked through the door.
In my smoothie:
- Frozen strawberries
- Chocolate protein powder
- Cocoa powder
- Almond milk
- Fresh spinach
Perfect post-workout snack!
I am planning to spend the rest of the day on the computer, catching up on emails and blog-related business. Later!

That is so awesome that FitBloggin’ is going to be in Portland (otherwise known as where I am, yay!) It’s a great city and I hope you have a blast! (I’d love to go but I only *just* brushed off my blog and started posting…um, yesterday.)

Danica @ It's Progression says
It still doesn’t feel like summer here (weather-wise) and that’s driving me crazy! I’m so ready for hot days.
This month my husband and I celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary, which I’m really excited for!
Kate @ Indulgent Wellness says
You might like the Rise & Shine alarm clock from Brookstone! I bought it because it has a light that gets brighter and brighter until wake up time which is great in Chicago winters when you want to feel like there’s “natural light” to wake up to. But, the alarm on it sounds like a meditation gong and it gets gradually louder as it is time to wake up. I find it is much less jarring than the harsh “buzz” clocks!
Michaela says
YIPPEE!!!!!!
Meghan @ After the Ivy League says
I am definitely in the summer mindset too! Looking forward to a trip to New Orleans in a few weeks, and hopefully some shorter trips up to NH to hang out by the lake!

Ooooh a BBQ at the beach would be reallly nice this summer! But what I’m really excited for is to finally give birth to our daughter in 11 days! Oh my, it might not even be 11 days, who knows? But thinking about that day is so cool yet surreal and strange at the same time–it’s like a whole slew of emotions jumbled up together. 🙂
