September is upon us and I am more than ready for some cooler weather. Though I know I will be sweating my face off in Florida for another month or two, the beginning of September reminds me that fall is on its way. Hooray!
This month I have quite a few fun things on my agenda. In chronological order:
- Teaching My First TRX Class: Beginning tomorrow, I’ll be teaching a TRX class at my gym on Thursdays. I trained with one of the guys at my gym last week and am looking forward to taking over the class!
- Las Vegas for Merri’s Bachelorette Party: I am so excited for this bachelorette party I can barely stand it! The hype emails, texts and phone calls are in full force right now and my girlfriends and I are counting down the hours until our flights leave before dawn on Friday morning. Our itinerary for the weekend is basically a non-stop party. I’m a little scared.
- Avicii Pool Party: This is one of the items on our Vegas itinerary and I am psyched! I love Avicii and a bunch of his songs always seem to find their way on to my running playlists. Great pump-up music! I also went shopping for a new bathing suit for the party last Friday and stumbled upon some super sale bikinis at BCBG and Marshalls. (The BCBG bikinis were 80 percent off and the teal bottoms from Marshalls were only $5!)
- LiveStrong Training: At the end of the week next week, I’ll be participating in the second part of my training for this 12-week program for adult cancer survivors that is going to come to my gym very soon. I’m looking forward to it!
- Florida Blogger and Social Media Conference: I love this conference and am pretty sure I will be attending it in Orlando again this year. I learned so much last year and have it marked on my calendar. Assuming I am not craving a weekend at home after lots of traveling, I’ll be there! Just in case you’re interested, here are my recaps from the conference last year: Part I, Part II, Part III
- Trip to Canada: In late September I am heading to Quebec and cannot wait to explore. Lots of outdoor activities are on the agenda!
Lunch
Lunch today was easy peasy. I simply reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner.
Last night I cooked up the amberjack that my dad got while spearfishing with all of us on Monday. I added corn and onion to the pan and seasoned everything with Old Bay, Garlic Gold and pepper before topping it with avocado.
It was just as good the second time around!
Question of the Afternoon
- What is one thing you’re looking forward to in September?
yay for Canada!!! you should come to Nova Scotia, that’s where it’s at. 🙂
I am looking forward to the birth of my son more than anything in September.
That’s an easy questions…pumpkin spice lattes! Oh and apple picking, leggings, riding boots, etc!
Cute bathing suits- that’s awesome you got them for such a steal.
Ohh, you’ll have a ton of fun in Quebec!! It’s an amazing place. Not that I’m biased at all being from Canada 😉
Looks like a great month ahead for you!
I’m looking forward to sorority events and football games starting up again.
Also definitely looking forward to some fall flavors! September is a great excuse to enjoy pumpkin in everything haha.
My birthday! And my first business trip ever. (I’m also slightly terrified for that…)
Just the thought of September makes me seriously warm and fuzzy inside. The trees start changing colours and the nights get cooler, it’s the beginning of jackets and scarves are on their way. Love it! Happy Fall Y’all!
Those bathing suits are SO PRETTY! love em.
OMG fallllll! Fave season. So happy about September!
going to the apple orchard… and the kids are back in school 😉
Yay for a trip to Canada! I live outside Toronto and still haven’t been to Quebec, truly. The first time I even went there was when I was 25 years old!! Can’t wait to hear more about that and good luck with TRX tomorrow!
What will you be up to in Quebec? I’m from there!
Fall races! I have a half marathon and a 10k on the schedule. Can’t wait!
YAY For Canada! I’m in New Brunswick about 6 hours away! QC City is beautiful if you have a chance to go there! Hope you have fun 🙂
You definitely have a fun and busy month ahead! 🙂
Sounds like a fun month.
What a fun month. I love Vegas and Quebec. I cant wait to go on a vacation soon!
I love that navy BCBG bikini! I’m most looking forward to more Clemson games this September and a 10k next weekend 🙂
I’m looking forward to Florida Blogger and Social Media Conference too. I hope to see you there!
I’m also heading to Puerto Rico I September. I can’t wait for that
I just went on a cruise this summer, and we left from Quebec. It was beautiful and very European. I can’t wait to hear all about it. And have a blast in Vegas, I went for the labor day weekend 😉
I’m looking forward to cooler weather, football, and for the leaves to change color 🙂
You’re going to love Quebec! Montreal and Quebec City are both amazing, lots of great food/drinks and lots of walking to see everything! If you go to Montreal make sure you visit the Biodome and Botanical Gardens. Oh and go eat at Le Trois Brasseurs (Quebec City and Montreal) and try the pumpkin beer!
Quebec is my hometown! I’ve lived there for 25 years, so shout me an email if you ever have questions or are looking for fun things to do 🙂
You got a quite busy month! Luckily, everything look like a lot of fun!
Hey Jules! Are you doing the PBF Book Club this month?!
I love Quebec!!! You will have an absolute blast. My family and I used to go every year! I’m looking forward to a family wedding in MI. I am road trippin’ there with my parents… I hope I survive:)
YAY Canada! You’ll love it! Where abouts in Quebec are you going? Any plan to visit Toronto? 🙂
I’m looking forward to camping!
Have you tried the banana and egg pancake that Carrots N Cakes Makes?? Just a whole banana and whole egg.. it is so good!
Have fun in Las Vegas
There are so many things I love about the fall it’s hard to pick just one! A few things I like about September are: cool crisp weather, leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice coffee, boots & scarves! 🙂
LOVE that navy suit!
Bloggers get to travel so much that’s awesome!!
Where in Quebec are you headed? I’ve lived in Quebec all my life, so I can def give you some advice on where to go!!
I’d love to visit Quebec! The thing I’m looking forward to the most in September is having nothing on the agenda. Between a recent trip to Seattle and events every weekend, I’m looking forward to doing nothing. Oh, and the return of fall clothes (boots, scarves, jackets, yay!)
If you want to not sound totally American in Quebec (my birth province) it’s pronounced “Kay- beck” not “quah-beck”… Just a friendly heads up!
I am also getting Live Strong certified and cannot wait! How will you use your certification?
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn and teach the Livestrong Program. I am a social worker at a cancer center in Boise Idaho and we have this program at our local YMCA. It’s an amazing program and does so much for my patients. We know the benefits of clean eating and exercise both during and after treatment and more studies continue to come out. Listen and be present with the patients…you will be amazed at how much they teach you!
yay for coming to Canada! I live in ottawa and work across the river in Gatineau. And I second you going to Les Trois Brasseurs (The Three Brewers) if you like beer, they have some great seasonal ones. Don’t forget to check out Old Montreal and Mont Royal if you go to Montreal!
I’m looking forward to attending my first blogging conference (Healthy Living Summit)! I’m also excited to be back at CrossFit after a back injury. Lastly, I’m hoping to settle into a better routine since the fall semester started.
I’m looking forward to celebrating my 4th wedding anniversary, although we’ve been together for 11 years. We’re going to a new restaurant (for us) called, The Rabbit Hole.
If you’re heading to Quebec city and have some free time, don’t hesitate to write me an email ! It would be a pleasure to give you a guided tour 🙂
