Good morning!
I am slowly recovering after this weekend’s whirlwind Las Vegas bachelorette party. My voice still sounds like death, but my energy level is returning to normal. After two back-to-back nights of good sleep, I’m feeling like myself again.
This morning I woke up at 5:15 a.m. with Ryan to get in a workout. It felt good to sweat again and while I was pretty sure my workout would be rather horrific as we drove to the gym, a rockin’ workout playlist pumped me up while I ran on the treadmill and I left feeling accomplished. Success!
My latest workout playlist is packed with upbeat music to keep your energy level up!
- Avicii – Wake Me Up
- Glee Cast – Clarity
- Martin Garrix – Animals
- Rudimental (feat. John Newman) – Feel the Love (<— Love this one!)
- Monsta (Skrillex & Nero Remix) – Holdin’ On
- Culture Beat – Mr. Vain (Recall Mix)
- Calvin Harris (feat. Florence Welch) – Sweet Nothing
- Bingo Players – Cry (Just a Little)
- Avicii – Fade Into Darkness
- Skrillex – Cinema
- Martin Solveig – Big In Japan
- La Roux – Bulletproof
- Pitbull (feat. Ne-Yo) – Give Me Everything
- Gossip – Heavy Cross
- Fragma – I Need a Miracle
- Calvin Harris (feat. Ellie Goulding) – I Need Your Love
Breakfast
After my workout, it was time for breakfast.
I made myself a batch of scrambled eggs with spinach, onion and chicken sausage and ate them with a hot cup of s’mores coffee.
Now it’s off to work!
See ya after lunch, my friends!
Question of the Morning
- What is your go-to pump up song right now?
Glad you’re feeling better after your crazy weekend. I always feel like Monday mornings is when I need to most energy to get my workout in…since weekends can definitely leave me feeling wiped out when I go out with friends. And entertaining music like this definitely helps with my motivation.
looks like a great playlist!! glad you’re getting back to normal after your weekend, a workout always helps with that 🙂
Great tunes — music can make or break a workout for me, so I’m always looking for new ideas!
Love the playlist! Right now I’m into Miranda Lambert Gunpowders & Lead [again] and Akon/David Guetta Work Hard, Play Hard.
I am loving wake me up by avicii! So good! Gets me pumped up!
Road by Katy Perry is my ultimate pump up song right now! I am going to have to download some songs from your list! 🙂
Roar by Katy perry!
Great playlist! I’m starting to get tired of mine and have been looking for new songs!
How many eggs do you put in your scramble? I eat (too) many eggs! I also put avocado on everything. I eat one a day! Oops.
Well that’s good that you’re starting to feel better! Love that playlist and love your breakfast!
What flavor of chicken sausage do you use?
My go to, POWER song…. “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor. I tell ya…I think I’m a rock star runner, a beast at CrossFit, and an ACE whenever I hear that song. Whatever activity I am doing, you can’t tell me I can’t!!! Hope you like it!!!
Glad you had a great time in Vegas!!!
bang bang by will.i.am
if you’ve seen the great gatsby movie you will recognize it! can’t help but dance when i hear it 🙂
A lot of these are new to me. Thanks for sharing; I’ll have to check them out!
I recently got the Now 47 mp3 download for free from my 10k training app prize, and I love it! It has a lot of these same songs and always pumps me up for my runs.
I have a lot of these songs on my workout playlist right now too! But you def introduced some new ones…thank you! Also, “Bulletproof” was mine and my husband’s wedding song! We both love to dance and this song was such a huge hit when we first started dating. We actually started off with “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion for about 20 seconds and then on came La Roux! Everyone loved it and we had SO much fun!
I’m loving Safe & Sound by Capital Cities.
I am lovvving Lady Gaga’s – Applause and Katy Perry’s – Roar! Good beats to really pump you up!
It would take me a little longer than a couple days to recover from a weekend like that! 🙂
Okay, I’m weird, but “Gone Gone Gone” by Phillip Phillips is my go-to run song right now.
I am loving ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry and ‘Brave’ by Sara Bareilles. Both are great workout songs!
My go-to song right now is Summertime Sadness, the Lana Del Rey with Cedric Gervais version…brings me back to Vegas and I played it on repeat yesterday while I read your recap haha! TAKE ME BACK!!
LOVE Ya!!

Meal looks super tasty!
Pretty sure I’ll be 80 and no song will get me moving like anything from Britney Spears! I love the beat in most of her songs.
A few of my recent favs are Bom Bom, All I Ever Wanted and Ooh La La, and I want Crazy. 🙂
YAY for getting back into it all & feeling a bit more normal. 🙂
Your workout playlist actually looks really similar to mine right now. I’m loving Wake Me Up by Avicii and Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris- both of those songs give me a ton of energy.
I’ll have to check out your other ones too, thanks for sharing!
impressive! I’d still be laying in bed recovering until at least tomorrow if i had gone to Vegas this weekend 😉
I think I saw this one a couple of times but ROAR by Katy Perry. I have been finishing all of my runs with this one, it makes you feel like you just finished in first place every time!
I’ve been meaning to download Avicii. Our spin instructor played it during one of our classes and it definitely did the trick!
I love playlist posts! Always find new songs that make a huge difference when working out. My favorite pump up songs right now are “Roar” by Katy Perry and “How Far We’ve Come” by Matchbox 20.
How do you make your playlists? I don’t want to pay for new songs….lol. I’m also computer illiterate!
Alive by Krewella is an awesome workout song too- I saw them live on Thursday and they were awesome!
I’ve been all about updating my playlists as of late. I’ve been listening to some old school jams from my high school/early college days and it’s just nice to think of old memories while running or doing something similar!
This was exactly what I needed – a new workout playlist! Mine is getting pretty old and boring – thanks for sharing 🙂
Glad you are returning to normal, a few good nights sleep can really help that!
Love all those tunes, I have been jamming to a crazy mix of things lately.
yay! can’t wait to download some of these songs 🙂
Shoot, a rockin’ playlist can get you through anything! This one looks fantastic!!
My Songs Know What You Did in The Dark by Fallout Boy is a favorite right now. I think because I saw it on Hard Knocks and the football players were doing a hard drill at the time
Yeahhh good playlist, seems like we like very similar music. That’s the way to do it. I love that Avicii song!
Looks like an awesome playlist thanks for sharing! Love + Shine C

I can’t stop listening to Blurred Lines!! The beat puts me in the best mood. I wonder if it will ever get old…
Love the playlist! I love anything by Calvin Harris, especially a Bounce remix I heard in spin last Friday!
Brave by Sara Bareilles…I love that girl 😉 !!!
Gad you’re recovered from Vegas. That place definitely takes the wind out of my sails for a couple of days 🙂
This is cheesy but I’m very into Katy Perry’s “Roar” these days.
The playlist looks rockin’! My go-to pump up song right now is “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” by Fergie et. al. I love it!
I love when you post new songs, Julie! My favorites right now are “The Fire” by the Roots ft John Legend, “Hands Up” by September, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from the Great Gatsby, and “Still Into You” by Paramore.
