I’ve always been more of a get-out-and-go exerciser. I love the group exercise environment and enjoy both taking and teaching fitness classes, but after Chase was born, I quickly realized that making it out of the house to work out five or six days a week might be a little unrealistic. Class times don’t always coordinate well with Chase’s nap schedule (or lack of a nap schedule…) and I’m not about to wake a sleeping baby to drag him off to the gym. And if Chase ever has a runny nose or a cough, I try to be cognizant of the other little ones at my gym’s childcare and keep him (and his potential germs) at home.
So workouts seem to happen at home more and more these days! I often look to my Fitness Pinterest Board and the At Home Workouts I’ve shared on the blog in the past for inspiration. I have a small handful of workout DVDs to choose from as well, but after I saw one of my blogging buddies, Janae, blog about Grokker, I signed up for a free two-week trial.
Grokker is a community and resource for busy people who want to make time for wellness. The site offers more than 1,500 full-length, expert led fitness and wellness-related videos, ranging from barre, cardio and strength training videos to meditation, sports conditioning, flexibility and healthy cooking videos. Videos range in length from 10 minutes to more than an hour which is perfect for someone like me who sometimes has only 20 minutes to work out but also occasionally wants to get in a quality 60-minute sweat session.
During my free two-week trial, Grokker caught wind of my love for one of their yoga flow videos that focused on my hips when I briefly mentioned it on the blog a couple of weeks ago. They reached out to offer to extend my membership to 90 days and give you guys a chance to try out the site, too! I was psyched since my two weeks was quickly ending and I was already beginning to count on Grokker videos as a go-to resource for me during my at home workouts.
So far, I’ve really enjoyed most of the videos I’ve tried, but since there are tons to choose from, if one isn’t really my speed/style, I can quickly browse around to find one that it a better fit. I REALLY like the 20-minute HIIT videos by Kelly Lee and find myself turning to them again and again.
Here’s an example of one of the Grokker HIIT arm workouts I found in the HIIT Club Arms Workout by Kelly Lee that I completed last week:
As a personal trainer, I really love the way the HIIT Club Arm Workout video offers modifications for beginners and also offers ways to make the workout harder for those who might be a little more advanced. (There were also two people physically doing the workout with Kelly Lee who were demonstrating these modifications the entire time.) You can also interact with the trainers in the videos by leaving them comments and participating in the Grokker community.
One thing I didn’t think I’d really use all that much that completely surprised me is the Cooking section of Grokker. There are tons of healthy recipe videos on the site, but if you don’t have time to watch the video, you can find all the details from the recipes mentioned in the videos right below the video on the site.
(If you’re looking for a place to start, I’ve made two of Stephanie O’Dea’s slow cooker recipes and we loved them. Her sweet potato chili is awesome.)
You can sort through the cooking videos by a myriad of topics ranging from specific cuisines and interests to specialty diets and specific meals. (FYI for my fellow parents out there, Grokker has an entire section of their cooking videos dedicated to baby and toddler-friendly food.)
And now it’s time for a Grokker G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y!

Definitely the yoga and the recipes! I’m pregnant and already have a 22 month old so working out at home right now is my only option. This sounds amazing!
I love HIIT and Interval workouts! I’d definitely be the most interested in those.
This sounds great! I would love to try out the HIIT videos – think they would be great for quick yet efficient workouts, especially when traveling!
I’m most interested in strength workouts with weights (I’m good at doing cardio on my own). And I dislike body-weight exercises (for health reasons). I’m looking for workouts that build serious muscle (rather than just tones muscle), so heavier weights (i.e. I really like Chalene Xtreme, for example, a beachbody workout.)
I get so bored doing weight lifting videos, so I have a lot of them (but I don’t tend to lift weights without a dvd/instructor to push me along). If I had several more weight training videos to choose from, that would be great!
I don’t usually enter the giveaways, but I thought I’d give it a shot!
I’ve just recently started doing workout videos at home, and it’s been the ONLY way I’ve been able to work out consistently! Having a subscription to Grokker would give me more variety and hopefully keep my fitness streak going! And I absolutely LOVE videos that combine strength training and cardio, I feel like I’m really getting the best workout for my time investment!
This would be awesome to have! I do most of my workouts at home to supplement my yoga classes since I’m a member at a YogaFit studio and not a gym, and the HITT, Barre, Interval, and Yoga videos would be awesome to try, as well as the recipe videos. Currently, Youtube is my main source of workouts (from Tone It Up, Sarah Fit, Popsugar Fitness, etc.), but it would be nice to have access to more!
With two little ones at home, i NEED this! Definitely going to look into their interval training workouts!
hiit and yoga!! 🙂
I am always looking for more HIIT workouts! They are one of the best ways to keep myself motivated 🙂
I love HIIT workouts, but think I’d benefit from the balance & flexibility workouts…and toning & sculpting!
I would be most interested in yoga or HIIT routines.
Would love to try some of the yoga videos! It’s difficult for me to motivate myself at home and I think this could be the key to getting my stretch on…
Yoga and HIIT look cool!
I would love to try some of their strength training and HIIT videos! In my old life as a personal trainer I used to love to plan workers but now that I work full time at a desk job I just want to not think for an hour!
I’m 26 weeks pregnant with #2, so this at-home option sounds amazing! The cardio videos looked intriguing! 🙂
All of Grokker’s videos look amazing. I’m looking to shake up my cardio routine so I would be most excited to check those videos out!
All the videos look amazing but the tone and trim is where I would start! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I would love to try the Barre workouts! What a great website, thanks Julie!
I do get to the gym regularly, but I’ve been looking for a way to add in some yoga and more targeted core so this would be great!
the tone & trim class and the pilates interest me! the yoga ones too! sounds like a great site! I love that they have cooking videos too!
yoga and piyo workouts would be my top picks
One of my goals has been to practice more meditation so I love that they offer meditation classes. And I always like to do a gentle yoga routine before a long run.
this looks awesome! i would love to do the barre workouts!!
The yoga workouts would be great. And I’ve never tried barre so those would be fun to try too!
I have a new baby at home, so getting to the gym to lose my baby weight is hard for me too. I would like to try the yoga, just because ive never personally done yoga before. I would also watch the cooking videos to learn new recipes.
I’ve been trying to do yoga in the mornings and finding a variety of good 10-20minute videos has been tough! This would be awesome!
I am always looking for HIIT inspiration so I would definitely utilize those types of workouts!
Tone and trim workouts would be great
Tone and trim and toddler meals sound awesome!
I really love bootcamp style workouts, so things like that would be what I would gravitate towards!
i am a barre junkie! i would love to do those videos!
Strength training, tone & trim and flexibility & balance all sound great!
I could always use more yoga in my life!
I’d love to try out the yoga & pilates workouts
Hi Julie!
I just moved to Charlotte in January from Chicago and love your blog! My sister has been a long time reader and got me hooked about a year ago. At the time I was coming to Charlotte about once a month so it was great to read your restaurant recommendations. I have gone to quite a few and none have disappointed.
I have been out of town for work ever since I moved and I think these workout videos would be great for me to do in the hotel room! Do you know if there are a decent amount of videos where no equipment is needed? I am thinking about investing in a resistance band that I could fit in my suitcase but don’t have access to dumb bells. If you have any insights, please let me know.
Maybe I’ll see you around Charlotte in the future 🙂
Lauren
I would do Pilates and HITT workouts!
Hi Julie! I’d love to try out the meditation videos.
I’m interested in the Pilates workouts.
I would definitely try out the barre videos first! Thanks so much, Julie!! xx
I’ve been wanting to try yoga for a while at my gym but am so intimidated of going in with no idea of what I’m doing! I can’t wait to try the yoga videos Grokker has so I can get over my fear of going to a class!
Yoga AND barre sound appealing for me! I work 12 hour pm shifts as a nurse this would be great for my schedule!
definitely yoga!!
This is a really cool site — thanks for sharing! I already do some at home barre workouts, so I’d add the Grokker videos to my repertoire.
I’m excited to watch the Tone & Trim videos!
I have always wanted to take a barre class at my gym but they only offer them at weird times. I would love to be able to do them at home when I can squeeze in some me-time! Thanks for sharing.
Definitely HIIT Club and the 14-day yoga challenge!
i would definitely try the Barre! I have always wanted to try a barre workout!
i’d love to try some of the HIIT videos!
