We’re home for Christmas!
Early this evening, Ryan, Sadie and I arrived at my parents’ house in St. Pete.
We will be spending the holiday with both of our families – lots of back and forth between St. Pete and Sarasota over the next few days!
Ryan and I are used to eating dinner a little earlier than my family, so when we arrived, we were starving!
We both snacked a lot and the fact that my mom had seven different kinds of homemade cookies on hand didn’t bode well for my ravenous appetite.
I immediately downed three cookies and then ate three more before we actually sat down to dinner. Quite the appetizer, huh?
Dinner was worth the wait though and when we finally sat down, I filled my plate with homemade lasagna, salad and a wheat roll.
And now I am stuffed and in a bit of a sugar coma.
Time to bum around on the couch with my family. It feels good to be home!
I didn’t know you were from St. Pete! I grew up in Safety Harbor 🙂 Hope you enjoy your time at home!
Yay! Enjoy your time at home!
No worries. I pretty much ate ice cream for dinner since we were shopping with my in-laws at CostCo, and as we were checking out I noticed you could get a huge cone of gelato for $1.50 (10 points to CostCo for being cheap). My husband made me eat a little chicken once we got home so I could have something nutritious in my belly.
Enjoy your Christmas at home! Also thanks for the white chocolate peppermint popcorn recipe!!! Just made some tonight as part of my Christmas gifts 🙂
Hehe I also am at home and also ate quite a few cookies today! I mean, you’ve got to sample them all right? And then get seconds on the best ones? Before they run out?
Haha!
Enjoy your holidays with your families! 🙂
Literally swooning over your St. Pete Christmas location. Are you kidding? I’d like the beach, please.
Cookies are totally acceptable for a pre-dinner!
Mmm cookies!!! I have been a cookie monster lately. That doesn’t bode well for weight loss. 😉
Isn’t it so nice to home for the holidays, especially with home cooking! Those cookies look delicious.
we need a few days like those around the holidays! that’s def my kind of appetizer 😉
My family also has like 10 different kinds of baked goods. It’s awesome, I’m trying to enjoy them while they last but not put myself in a sugar coma every night!
Love the Christmas tree, it is so pretty 🙂
A couple of questions for you today – how do you pronounce Sarasota? Sarah-sota? Sarra-sota?
Next question is about your jump rope workout – I workout from home and I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to what I could replace the kettlebell swings with?
Sorry, just thought of another question – as I was back-reading I came across the post called Manly Man. Ryan’s list cracked me up, I loved the drinking out of a straw. Are there any new additions since your walking the 2 tiny fluffy puppies?
Those cookies look so good…esp the pb one with the kiss on it! I am on vacation right now at the beach and believe me, we have had decadant dessert everynight. I am a sugar feen around the holidays! haha. Enjoy your visit with the fam
I’m with you on that. I just ate 3 cookies and a peice of crumb cake! Thank God there aren’t this many baked goods around all year!
I hope this comes off the right way (positive) — I smiled when I saw the photo of your family’s Christmas tree because it’s so REAL. It’s not too perfect, it looks as though it’s covered in ornaments with meaning (I bet some are from childhood!), and nothing is “foo foo”. While I’m a fan of “foo foo” in a lot of other areas, I just love the look of a homey, real, family Christmas tree!
Glad you guys made it safe and with yummy cookies waiting. I’ve been having a major craving for lasagna lately, and your mom’s looks so good!
Have a great time at home!! Happy holidays!
Hey what’s the holidays without cookies?
Have fun with your fam! I wish I had cookies as appetizers, although maybe it’s a good thing I don’t. 🙂
Those thumbprint cookies with the hershey kisses are pretty much my favourite thing ever, especially with all the different kinds of kisses there are out there now!
Merry Christmas, enjoy the holidays! 🙂
Have a great time at home and happy holidays to you and your family!
Happy holidays with your families! 😀 xyx
Beautiful tree! 🙂 Have a wonderful time spending the holidays with both of your families! 🙂
Enjoy Christmas with your family. Nothing on top of the Christmas tree though. Are you a star person or an angel? I am an angel person all the way.
This post makes me realize how homesick I am for the holidays. I’m stuck in LA while my family is in Chicago and every year on Christmas my dad makes his famous lasagna….yum! I hope you have a fabulous holiday! 🙂
I spot my favorite pb cookies! Yum!
Are those the defrost & bake rolls? I think they’re awesome.
I eat cookies by the 6’s as well 🙂
Tis the time of year for cookie comas!
Dessert before dinner is how we roll too.
Have fun at home!!
Thats such a pretty Christmas tree! 🙂
Have a great time with your family!
Love the Christmas tree! Have a wonderful time at home 🙂
There is nothing like being home for the holidays! And eating lots and lots of cookies!
That dinner looks delicious! I love pasta with salad!
Love the tree!! Have fun with your family!!
Oh, you have me craving lasagna now. Will have to make some this weekend. Merry Christmas! 🙂
