Tonight’s dinner was no different.
Ryan and I made a hot and flavorful meal of Italian sausage with green peppers and onions.
Though it had to cook in the oven for approximately 45 minutes, the prep work only lasted five. It was a set-it-and-forget-it kinda meal!
I simply chopped up two large green peppers and one onion, and cut up three large Jennie-O sweet lean Italian turkey sausages. I cut the sausages with scissors because chopping them with a knife would cause the meat to squeeze out of the casings. Once everything was ready to go, I combined everything, sprinkled it with salt and pepper, and placed the mixture in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
The result was a fragrant and delicious meal.
Sadie really wanted a bite, but onions are a no-go for dogs, so she did some tricks to earn some dog-safe treats!
Though the treat made her happy, she instantly returned to begging for our human food… not that I blame her. 😉
Now it’s time to do some dishes, read and hopefully get in bed a lil’ early tonight.
See ya in the morning!
Sadie is so cute! I would never be in a bad mood with that little gem running around my household! Enjoy your night Julie!
You’re dinner looks great! I just wanted to tell you that I took a boot camp class tonight (it’s sorta equivalent to body pump since my gym doesnt offer that class) OMG sooo INTENSE. Thanks again for motivating me and inspiring me!!
Have a great night Julie!
Sorry- It’s Michelle
that’s wonderful!!! i’m so glad you liked it!
I love easy peasy dinners. Who wants to waste tons of time slaving away in the kitchen when you can make something simple, healthy, and delicious with a fraction of the effort? Not this girl….sometimes I like to spend lots of time cooking, but only on days when I have the time. On weekdays, fast and easy is the name of the game.
Sadie’s adorable! And sausage and peppers is one of my favorite meals! I cut my sausage semi-frozen – scissors is a great tip – definitely trying that next time.
Awwww, look at Sadie! What a sweetie 🙂
I’m supposed to be having chicken sausage with peppers and onions on Thursday and I’ve been craving it all week!! YUMM 😛
I love easy dinners like that! 😀 That looks delish.
Love quick and easy dinners… I might try yours tomorrow night with spicy chicken sausage. Thanks for the idea 🙂
PS- I <3 Sadie… Koda was sniffing around the kitchen tonight too… I think she was hoping for a bite of steak… sorry pup 😉
Is that a Fiestaware bowl? It looks very familiar!
yes it is! my grandma had a whole bunch of fiesta plates & bowls & gave them to me when she moved out of her house. i love all the colors!
What an easy meal! And I had no idea that onions were bad for dogs!
love simple meals! I love the crock pot-putting meals in and getting dinner out when you get home
Yaaay a picture of Sadie – she’s so adorable 🙂 she makes my heart smile 🙂
Enjoy your simple evening 😀 Sometimes those are the best (and tastiest!)
Just discovered your bloggie…love t <3
Your puppy is SO adorable. We are getting a dog in about 6 months and I CANNOT wait! I have never had a dog and I'm 23! What kind is she?
She’s a vizsla. :)Enjoy your puppy – Sadie was my first dog too! (Well, we had a great dane when I was a baby, but I don’t remember it.)
Yummy, I love anything with the sausage/onion/pepper combo…it would be delish with a little tomato sauce on top!
I love set it and forget it dinners. Takes all of the pain out of cooking!
The sausage meal looks delish! How did you bake them? Do you wrap them in tinfoil or just on a cooking sheet/pan??
Thanks love 🙂 I have a current obsession with Trader Joe’s Chicken sausage 😉
XOXOX
I just put them in a pan w/ the peppers & onions & baked them at 375 for 45 min. Tasty!
I love peppers and onions with sausage! I have been trying to think of a new exciting way to serve it, but your simple rendition looks amazing 🙂
