Even though summer doesn’t technically begin until June 20, it certainly feels like summer in Florida already.
Ryan and I took Sadie on a walk around 7:30 a.m. and returned sweaty. The sun was already blazing before 8 a.m. and the humidity was kickin’.
When we arrived back home, I made myself a cold mock-Frappuccino coffee drink to help me cool off as I type up this blog post.
In the blender I combined approximately 1 1/2 cups of ice with a packet of Taster’s Choice instant coffee dissolved in 1/4 cup of hot water, 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder and some stevia until it was sweet enough for my liking. Yum!
Breakfast
Before our hot walk, we ate a hot breakfast. In retrospect, this probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but it was tasty!
I made scrambled eggs with chopped veggies and mozzarella cheese, served with a toasted Publix bagel topped with whipped butter.
Our plans for the day are up in the air. We’re thinking about visiting the springs nearby, but the weather is calling for rain again this afternoon, so we’ll see!

last week the weather was crazy hot here in UT too, but this weekend is actually kind of chilly (at least for me – i’m from AZ!). we left the windows open last night, and i woke up this morning freezing! our house said 64 degrees… i haven’t seen that since winter!

We’re getting rain today, too! Boo! Hope you have a good day and the weather turns around for you!

I’m surprised to see you aren’t at the blogher conference

It looks like a lot of fun and a great way to learn more about blogging but was too expensive for me to swing this year and I wanted to save $$ b/c I am traveling for a bachelorette party w/ friends at the end of Aug. I’ve never been to a BlogHer conference before and would love to see what they’re all about some day!

Yum! That breakfast looks awesome! I’ve heard the weather, at home in Florida, has been quite yucky! I’ve been on vacation and mostly dodging the weather but now I’m in Alabama and it’s not great here either. I’d love a nice sunny pool day but that is not going to happen:( I hope it holds up for you to go to the springs though!
peanutbutterfingers says
It has been incredibly rainy for the past two weeks!

I’ve been making a protein iced coffee after my workouts lately and loving it: iced coffee, dash of milk and half a scoop of vanilla Sunwarrior!…tastes even better than a “tall iced Americano with a pump of vanilla syrup” ;)!

Julie, do you know if there are any large supermarket chains that sell alternative bagels? I don’t think there are any Publixes around here….
Suzanne @ Fit Minded Mom says
I buy the Alternative bagels at my local Wal-Mart!! They are in the refrigerated section near the cream cheese.

That mock frap looks great, I have to try that!

Texas is super hot already, too! Today is going to be 98 degrees and tomorrow it is supposed to reach 100. I will be living near the pool!!

The weather is crazy hot here too!! I just got back from a week vacation in Florida where it was in the mid-80s all week. Here in Ohio it’s supposed to be in the 90s today! Craziness!!
Michelle (Better with Berries) says
It’s supposed to heat up here in Missouri today too – my brother and I are thinking about going hiking, but it might turn into a pool day 🙂
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Making your own blended coffee drink is a great way to save money but still get a delicious treat! 🙂
