Today’s workout took me out of my usual routine. I found myself in a late morning Piloxing class in between shifts at work. I’ve taken Piloxing at my gym a handful of times before, but work conflicts have prevented me from taking it in the recent months.
Today I had a free hour at the same time as the class, so I headed into the gymnasium to kick and punch my little heart out for 50 minutes. I left sufficiently sweaty!
After class, I worked up until lunchtime rolled around and I had time to break away and meet up with Ryan for a smoothie lunch date. Ryan has been raving about the veggie blend smoothies at Smoothie King ever since he and his friend Eric tried them during a work break one day and I was excited to order one this afternoon.
I selected the carrot kale dream that combined carrots, kale, bananas, orange juice, apple juice and vanilla protein powder.
It was sweet and tasty but didn’t keep me full for nearly as long as I anticipated. An hour or so later, I felt grateful for the Kashi granola bar I threw into my purse before I left the house this morning.
And now for a little fun…
How Much Would You Pay For…
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen this tweet last night:
(This is a billion-dollar idea that needs to become mainstream. Someone get on that!)
Anyway, as Ryan and I sat on the couch with Sadie last night, I shared my intense desire for delivery ice cream with him. This inevitably turned into the two of us playing one of our favorite hypothetical games that we’ve dubbed “How Much Would You Pay For…”
It’s a very basic and highly entertaining game that we play on hikes with Sadie or road trips. It’s like playing around with imaginary money since most of the hypotheticals we come up with will never happen. Here are some of last night’s “How Much Would You Pay For” questions along with my answers:
- How much would you pay for someone to show up at our front door with a bowl of your favorite ice cream right now? $30. Yes, I really wanted a bowl of ice cream last night.
- How much would you pay to be able to hear Sadie’s thoughts for one day? $800 (What’s sick is that I’d probably go higher than this and her thoughts would be, “CHICKEN!” “Walk!?” “I have to go potty.” “Let me out.” “FRISBEE!!!!!!!”)
- How much would you pay to be able to go back to college for one week? Assuming the week would not include any tests and all of my best friends would be there for a full week in our old sorority house, I’d probably pay $500+. (Yo, Kappa Delta, I think this would be an awesome alumnae fundraiser.) My girlfriends live all over the place, so the thought of having everyone together sounds incredible to me! <—For those still in college with your best friends, let this be a reminder to cherish your time!
Now it’s your turn…

I think I would pay about $30 to have food delivered to my door at any time. I live in the middle of the city so there are a lot of restaurants around me so finding a good place to eat near me isn’t that hard. 🙂

I wouldn’t go back to college/ university for a week.
And my favourite foods I usually have stocked, so I suppose I’m set :)!

Haha! Great ideas! I’d pay a lot to go back to college, but like you mentioned, I’d need all my girlfriends there, too!

HAHAAH this is hilarious … because we’re all so different!! My favorite food is pizza and pizza delivery is a thing (even here in Itlay whoho)…
I have two cats and 1)I am pretty sure I know exactly what they think lol 😀 2)one reason I love animals is because they do.not.speak.
College…I am SO glad it’s in the past. I would never ever go back to college, or high school. The present is such a warmer, more comfortable place to me 😀

Insommia cookies delivers fresh baked cookies and ice cream! We don’t live near one anymore but omg they’re the best!!

I would pay $35 for some delivered authentic Indian food at any given time!!
Lynzie says
I would pay 50 for authentic Thai food straight from Thailand with mango sticky rive and peanut satay chicken! Yum! I’m in college right now and honestly I’d pay 500 to leave!!
Lauren says
In NYC you can pretty much pay to get anything delivered – all meals, snacks, ice cream, cupcakes, wine…you name it! But I’m with you – I’d totally pay to go back to college for a week of fun! 🙂

$25 dollars. That’s a stretch, but there have been a few times when driving to get food wouldn’t have been the best or safest choice. That’s how pizza delivery became so popular! Ha!
How much would you pay to be able to hear your pet’s thoughts for one day?
Nothing – ignorance and bliss. If I can’t hear their thoughts then I can continue to maintain the skewed idea that I’m slightly smarter than they are and in charge!
How much would you pay to be able to go back to college for one week, assuming the week would not include any tests and all of your best friends would be there?
$500 is a good number. I would consider going up to $1000 if it were a fundraiser. Like you said-those moments are priceless and I wish I would have cherished them just a bit more!

I’d easily pay $30 for a brownie sundae delivery when I’m super craving it.
I’d definitely pay $1000 to hear my dog’s thoughts.
They’d have to PAY ME to go back to college for a week.

The ice cream delivery did exist for a small time last summer! Uber did a promo last year where you could order an ICE CREAM Truck instead of a car! The cost was between $20-35 so you were right on the money! 🙂

Guess what?! They DO have places that will deliver ice cream to you! I live in Minneapolis and there are several companies that exist for the sole purpose of delivering non-delivery restuarant food. You pick the restaurant, order a to-go order, and they deliver it to you. Some of the companies even order the food for you.

I literally said last night ‘man I wish I knew what our dog was thinking’ to our husband! For sure would pay HUGE money for that!
Chelsea @ Chelsea Eats Treats says
Wow, to go back to MY Kappa Delta sorority house (AOT <3) at the University of Maryland I would pay an embarrassing amount of money. Sometimes I can't believe that literally ALL of my best friends lived in the same place at the same time, and we saw each other every single day. How did I not die of a) alchol poisoning and b) happiness? Ah!

As long as it’s football season, I’d pay $500+ to go back to Clemson!
Krysten says
Oooh, I’d pay a ton to go back to college for a week, as long as everyone was all back together in the same place again too<3

Great questions!
For food to be delivered to my house at any time: Nada. Most foods you want can already be delivered and I think it’s a good thing I can’t have ice cream delivered (though I do love the idea!). My brother helped run a campus delivery service when he was at George Washington U. They would deliver random things (solo cups, ping pong balls) at any time of the day.
My pet: I have a rabbit, so the thoughts might be pretty simple. $100? $250 max?
To go back to college for a week: I think of this as the price of a low budget, but great vacation. Probably about $1k during the first week of classes! My alma mater (Mt. Holyoke College) does an amazing reunion every year and the special years (5, 10, etc.) get to stay in the dorms over the weekend. I can’t wait until our 10 year next year (besides the fact that makes me feel old!).
Em @ Love A Latte says
I really don’t feel like cooking tonight and I want a nutritious meal, so I’d probably pay around $50 bucks for delivery of a feast of delicious food when I get home from work!
