Good morning, my friends! I hope you had a nice evening and are feeling rested today.
Ryan and I had a fun Tuesday night playing Scrabble over dinner before we headed outside to entertain Sadie with several rounds of fetch.
We waited until close to 8 p.m. to play outside so we weren’t sweating like crazy. I think Sadie had a blast!
The picture below perfectly sums up Sadie’s fetching technique: Wait until Ryan has the frisbee and then take off at a full sprint the moment he winds up to throw!
Blurry dog!
Breakfast
After our outdoor fun, I prepared a bowl of overnight oats before bed.
This morning I topped the oats with a sliced banana and dug in!
In Need of a Studio 54 Outfit
Next month I will be heading off to Las Vegas for Merri’s bachelorette party.
Merri is not only one of my very best friends, but she is also one of the most fun people on the planet. She’s always talked about partying it up in Vegas for her bachelorette party and now the time is here!
I’ve been to Las Vegas one time before, but I was in elementary school, so I think this experience will be rather different! To say I am excited would be a serious understatement. Merri is such a wonderful friend to me and our group of girlfriends from college tends to go all-out for bachelorette parties, so I am pumped!
During our first night in Las Vegas, everything will be Studio 54 themed. It seems like a lot of my friends are having good luck finding a Studio 54-themed outfit to wear, but I am at a loss! A quick Google search reveals lots of metallic clothing and slinky dresses. If you’ve ever attended a Studio 54-themed party or have outfit ideas for me, I’d love to hear them!
Right now I’m thinking something like this would be fun:
I think it may be time to hit up Goodwill and local vintage shops!
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness says
oh what a fun theme and such a fun outfit!! i love it. definitely hit up the vintage shops/ good will/ and ebay! and ps sadie is SO cute
Jackie Macharsky says
That does seem like a really fun bachelorette! What a cool idea!
Cathryn says
That sounds like a blast! I would go with some bell bottoms and a fun sequin top!
Denae says
Very Studio 54 appropriate!:) Love the clothes from that website!:)
Lisa says
Sadie is too cute.
I think that’s such an awesome theme for a bachelorette party, I so love it. And that outfit would be quite the show stealer 😉
I agree with Charlotte, I bet a lot of vintage shops will have some keepers, and then there’s always those random online stores that sell some great things for that.
Ashley @ Life and Fitness says
My boyfriend’s dog is the same way. He starts running before he even knows what direction the frisbee went hah. For the most part he always catches it.
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
Sounds like it’ll be so much fun! I went to Vegas a few years ago for the first time and had such a great time!
Audrey @ In Shape Cupcake says
I love that jumpsuit! Very cool. I found this but you may have already seen it on pinterest

Sounds like the party will be a blast! I’m really digging the gold jumpsuit! There are some cute Studio 54-style dresses that I think would look fabulous too, like these: http://www.missguided.co.uk/blog/index.php/2010/07/studio-54-style/
Good luck with your search!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
Thank you Alison! This is great!

Vegas is such a fun time (albeit tiring, haha)! I can only imagine what it would be like for a bachelorette party. Some places that would be fun to go, in case you’re interested:
Clubs: XS (best one IMO!), Tao, Encore Beach Club, Hakkasan, PURE
Food: Wicked Spoon brunch at the Cosmopolitan (I cannot say enough good things)! Buffet at the Wynn (incredible). Sugar Factory, Mon Abi Gabi, Pink’s for hot dogs, Max Brenner, Diablo’s Cantina
Pool parties: Tao Beach, Rehab at the Hard Rock
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
Thanks for the recs!!!! I am getting so excited!
Laura says
Wet Republic is great too for pool parties. My friends and I got pulled into a suite and drank for free the entire time. It doesn’t get much better than that! We also did Ditch Fridays at the Palms and had a blast there too – their frozen Italian lemonades are so good (but $33 a pop, yikes!). XS was a blast too, from what I can remember. 🙂
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, and Beers says
Sounds like a blast! That outfit would totally fit the bill. My only time in Vegas was earlier this year, and I was preggers… def not the same kind of experience. haha
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says
what a fun theme! That outfit! Please get it! I cannot wait to see pics from the bachlorette party!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food says
haha Sadie is the funniest dog ever! That gold pantsuit is amazing. All you need are some gigantic earrings to go with it!
Livi says
love that onesie! or something like that in animal print would be perrrrrfect for studio 54 too!
Jamie @ Sometimes Healthy Living Blog says
What a fun idea! I am sure you will find that Vegas is a bit different as an adult haha. I have been a few times for work, one time in which I met my BF. So, if there are any single ladies attending, be sure to tell them that there is hope!
Can’t wait to hear about your Vegas adventures!
Amy @ The Little Honey Bee says
I absolutely love that outfit! Definitely good idea to hit up vintage shops. American Apparel is my go-to for theme parties. Kinda pricy but I try to buy things I can wear again.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I was watching a friends dog and as soon as I had the tennis ball in my hand, he TOOK off! I’m sure if someone got a picture, he’d be as blurry as Sadie! 😉
Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne says
I love how you can just see the happiness in Sadie’s face 🙂 Aw, that sounds like so much fun!! I’m not sure where you could find one, oh what to even look for, good luck!
Samantha @ Sweetly Striving says
That sounds like a great theme idea. You can always look at pinterest. Here’s a link http://pinterest.com/sarahatobin/studio-54/ for a board to look at. I’m sure there are many others.

Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Bahaha loving the pantsuit. Totally fabulous. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Hannah says
I’ve always had good luck at stores like Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, Deb, etc for tacky, inexpensive costumes- they have so much polyester and synthetic-fabric clothing, it’s the perfect place to look!
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
I would be a total loss for an outfit like that too. That era/theme is so not my own style, so I’d probably look ridiculous if I tried. I love that jumper/pants suit though! You could so rock that.
Betsy says
When people say Vegas i cant help but think of Thunder From Down Under!!!
Merri says
LOVE this post!!!! Getting SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to party like it’s 1979 hahaha! You would look PHENOM in that pantsuit btw, hope you find something like it!!
xxoo – see you in two days
Molly says
Obsessed with overnight oats. They are so filling! And Vegas sounds like a blast! I’ve never been but am hoping an occasion will come up that will force me to go there soon ;). Good luck finding an outfit, have a great day!

Do not miss “Rock of Ages” or Beatles “love”. Rock of Ages is a must!!!! E
Brooke @ Running In Heels says
That bachelorette party sounds so fun!!
Lauren says
LOL this is such a great theme! You should definitely look for a good afro wig at the goodwill shops, too! And put little stars at the corners of your eyes for extra dazzle :P!
Genee says
So fun! This one is similar, but probably not quite as studio 54, still it would look amazing on you! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mocha-Jumpsuit-with-Gold-Sequin-/221261790773?pt=US_Womens_Jumpsuits_Rompers&var=520159594089&hash=item33843afe35
Katie @ Katie Moves says
I love sadie’s defensive frisbee face lol!
Caitie @ twentytwofit says
What a fun idea! Not going to lie…I had to google “Studio 54” to know what you were talking about. I thought it was some kind of bar or nightclub! Thrift store/goodwill finds that fit the bill are always part of a fun adventure – good luck digging! 🙂
Annette@FitnessPerks says
You’re all going to have so much fun in vegas!
Christina @ The Beautiful Balance says
Yes to the gold jumpsuit!
Karen says
Vegas is only my favorite place in the world!! I got married at the Bellagio Hotel. You are going to have so much fun!! You can get any kind of sparkly dress – check Forever 21, they have cheap fun glitzy type dresses. Get some platform heels and you’ll be ready to go!
Megan says
Sasha is the same, when she turns to run sometimes we will have the ball thrower hide and she goes nuts until she finds you. It’s a good thing she is a good hunter!
Becky says
New outfits are always so fun! And if you are going to Vegas you obviously have to get one! 🙂
Anna @ Fitness à la Anna says
You ladies should totally make a theme – like metallics or sequins. It would definitely make you fit in 😉
joelle (on a pink typewriter) says
I’m actually from Vegas and my best friend is getting married there next year. 🙂 I can’t believe you’ve only visited once! You’re going to have a blast- it’s an experience, for sure.
Melanie @ Just Some Salt and Pepper says
I’d say go with the Goodwill stores. I’ve never been to a Studio 54 themed party, or anything like it, but it seems like a lot of fun!
Natalie @ Free Range Human says
I love that outfit! It is very appropriate for the seventies era, and especially a Studio 54 theme!
Rachel @ Undercover Diva: A Sitcom says
Do you have a Body Central or Body Shop near you? Those are usually pretty good for funky clothing and are reasonably priced!
Maria@TheBrooklynFig says
The gold onesie is perfect! What a fun theme. Thrift shops would be a great place to start looking.
Mary says
That outfit will be totally Studio 54! But I don’t think you should combine it with playing fetch with Sadie.
