Owning a home for the very first time unleashed my love for decorating. Iā€™m by no means a fantastic interior designer but I really do enjoy shopping around and finding fun things to incorporate into our new home to give it the comfortable, welcoming vibe Ryan and I hoped to achieve.

Our latest undertaking has been our babyā€™s nursery! Between painting the room, assembling furniture, picking out bedding and selecting fun prints to hang on the walls, weā€™ve been working away and having a blast. The nursery is almost done!

Once we hang pictures and play around with the furniture layout, Iā€™ll be sure to share a sneak peek into our babyā€™s space with you guys, but for now, hereā€™s a little behind-the-scenes look into our progress:

Interior Define let me select a throw pillow off their website along with a handful of fabric swatches (<ā€” always complimentary on their site!) that appealed to me to give me a feel for the quality and durability of their fabrics. Ryan and I actually had to send back a chair we ordered online for in our living room because the color didnā€™t look anything like it did in the pictures of the chair online, so the fact that Interior Define offers free fabric swatches to anyone is pretty awesome, especially if youā€™re a little timid about ordering furniture online.

The pillow I selected was the Wide Stripe Accent Pillow, which I chose because I thought it would make a great addition to our babyā€™s room and add a little pop of blue to our mostly-neutral nursery.

The pillow fabric is made of a combination of cotton and flax yarn-dyed dobby cloth with 100 percent organic cotton backing and I love the way the blue color popped against the frilly white bedding I chose for the twin bed in the nursery. Since the bedding I picked for the room is admittedly rather feminine, I am a big fan of the way the pillow adds an element of masculinity while still maintaining the comfortable, calming vibe of the space.

    It’s so hard to choose when there are so many options! I think my favorite for MY living room (after spending WAY too much time playing with fabrics and colors on their site) is the Kelley with right chaise in Carolina blue. The fact the Allison Victoria is the designer makes this even better! I LOVE HER!!!

    I love the Sloan sofa…possibly in sea glass. Love that they do free swatches- it is SO hard to tell colors on online. I have had horrible experiences ordering curtains online

    The Sloan chair is CALLING me!! I’ve always wanted to have a chair in my room to read, to blog, whatever,instead of laying in my bed (where I am SURE to fall asleep!!!). That chair would fit perfectly in my room and I love the blue color on the product page!!!

    A few days ago I decided it was time to move our bedroom furniture around! It had only been in the same spot for 17 years! I have the perfect spot for the Prichard loveseat!! The smoke fabric would be perfect!!!!

    I’ve been wanting an L shaped couch so badly!! I think I would do the Sloan or the Kelly in some shade of gray. Would definitely need to get swatches to see them in person!

    We just purchased our first home last summer and are still working on saving up for furniture to fill our house! I would pick the Lucy sofa, I think! There are so many beautiful things to choose from. I love your color scheme for the nursery! I’m also loving those colors for our house too!

    I actually just stumbled upon their website the other day and loved everything! I adore the Kelly Sofa in Wheat. The color is fantastic and will go with everything. The sofa itself looks so comfy and inviting to the point where I just want to flop right down on it and take a nap – plus the cushions look deep enough to just sit down and sink right into heaven šŸ™‚ This would be a fabulous addition to my apartment!
