Owning a home for the very first time unleashed my love for decorating. Iā€™m by no means a fantastic interior designer but I really do enjoy shopping around and finding fun things to incorporate into our new home to give it the comfortable, welcoming vibe Ryan and I hoped to achieve.

Our latest undertaking has been our babyā€™s nursery! Between painting the room, assembling furniture, picking out bedding and selecting fun prints to hang on the walls, weā€™ve been working away and having a blast. The nursery is almost done!

Once we hang pictures and play around with the furniture layout, Iā€™ll be sure to share a sneak peek into our babyā€™s space with you guys, but for now, hereā€™s a little behind-the-scenes look into our progress:

Earlier this month, I received and email from Interior Define, a company that offers customizable furniture and beautiful throw pillows at affordable prices, offering me the chance to host a $1,000 giveaway to their website on my blog. Interior Define let me select a throw pillow off their website along with a handful of fabric swatches (<ā€” always complimentary on their site!) that appealed to me to give me a feel for the quality and durability of their fabrics. Ryan and I actually had to send back a chair we ordered online for in our living room because the color didnā€™t look anything like it did in the pictures of the chair online, so the fact that Interior Define offers free fabric swatches to anyone is pretty awesome, especially if youā€™re a little timid about ordering furniture online.

The pillow I selected was the Wide Stripe Accent Pillow, which I chose because I thought it would make a great addition to our babyā€™s room and add a little pop of blue to our mostly-neutral nursery.

The pillow fabric is made of a combination of cotton and flax yarn-dyed dobby cloth with 100 percent organic cotton backing and I love the way the blue color popped against the frilly white bedding I chose for the twin bed in the nursery. Since the bedding I picked for the room is admittedly rather feminine, I am a big fan of the way the pillow adds an element of masculinity while still maintaining the comfortable, calming vibe of the space.

    My fiance Alex [yes we have the same name :)] and I are trying to get new furniture pieces together before our wedding in December. We have been looking for a couch with an attached chasse lounge that will fit perfectly in the living room of the condo we’ve chosen to live in.

    We offered to give my baby sister our sofa and loveseat for her college apartment, which means we are in the market for new furniture. Your post couldn’t have come at a better time for us! I absolutely love the bit of retro/contemporary feel of the Interior Define shop. If I were to win $1,000, I would purchase the Kelly sectional or the Lucy sofa depending on size. I haven’t taken the time to measure my living room, however style wise they are perfect!

    The Sloan couch would be perfect in our new studio! My fiancƩ and I are getting married in two weeks and are trying to find the perfect couch for our studio. This couch would help divide up the space a little bit. I love that you can chose a right or left chase option, as we are still torn with what direction we would like the chase to move to! We love this couch and this win would totally help us start building our new home!

    First of all I’ve had so much fun reading about your upcoming pregnancy and I’m so happy for you, Ryan and baby boy! My boyfriend and I are about to take a big step and move in together (I had to reference your co-habitate together blog to prepare myself)! We just bought a house that I’m absolutely in love with. We close next week and are couchless. While lounging on the floor to watch TV will suit for a few days, we’ve got our hearts set on an L-couch. I love the Kelley couch (in graphite) and the Sloan.
