We’re a little lost without this crazy lady in our lives.
Seriously!
Ryan and I are so used to dedicating a good hour or so to Sadie’s evening walks or an evening trip to the dog park that we’re feeling a little lost without this typical commitment. What do we do???
We eat!
We’ve been eating dinner earlier than usual since we don’t have to wait until after we’ve taken care of Sadie to dig in.
We joined all the early birds at the hotel buffet for dinner around 5:30 p.m.
Tonight’s menu included chicken cordon bleu with roasted, buttered corn, which I served on top of a salad.
The corn was really good (I went back for seconds) but the chicken was only okay. I’d bet a million dollars that it was frozen and simply reheated, but I was hungry and ate it up.
This whole “free dinners at the hotel” thing is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing in that we don’t have to pay for food and have our meals prepared for us, but a curse in that the options are very limited and the main courses remind me of cafeteria food.
A New Friend for Ryan
After dinner Ryan accompanied me on a trip to Ulta so I could pick up some of my favorite shampoo and conditioner.
While we were there, Ryan made a new friend!
The Biebs! You know we love the little Bieber.
After I snapped this picture, Ryan said he should’ve done that little heart symbol all the Biebiacs (we made that up) do at his concerts.
Oh yes.
And since I seriously tested Ryan’s masculinity by bringing him into Ulta and taking a picture of him and the Biebs, I escorted him to Dick’s Sporting Goods store where he regained his manhood.
As he browsed around the store, I spent my time in the Nike women’s clothing section and fell in love this sports bra…
But part of me feels like it’s straight out of the ‘80s and I’d probably hate it in a month. In the end the $32 price tag did a great job of deterring me.
Now we’re back at the hotel and plan to spend the rest of the night relaxing.
I will be heading back to my parents’ house in St. Pete tomorrow, so I’m happy for some quality time with my husband tonight!
Courtney says
Ahh I literally almost bought the same sports bra a week ago at Dick’s! I thought the same thing about it being a little too 80’s…love it tho!
Jessica says
Is Sadie with your parents?? The first time I had to leave Edie at a kennel I honestly started bawling when we pulled out because I could hear her barking. It was a great kennel too, it was like a doggy daycare, and she was only there for two days. I’m such a sucker.
peanutbutterfingers says
yep!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says
That sports bra does look like it’s straight from the 80’s!
And I’m assuming you bought the Justin Bieber cut out too? haha
peanutbutterfingers says
obviously. it will be sleeping in between the two of us tonight.
Jen says
Love love love the heart picture. So beautiful. I swear I read the whole post but I felt that needed to be commented on haha
Amy says
is it sad that i know that bieber’s crazy fan are beliebers, like believers, I read too much perez hilton
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I top salads with corn too!!!
I think Bieber is a genius, and has a good voice. GO for your dreams 🙂
Cait @ Cait hates Cake says
That sports bra is cute, but I don’t think I could convince myself to pay $32 for one either! I’ll stick w/ Target ones for $12!
Margo @ peanut butter trees says
I totally hear ya on trying to figure out what to do with new-found free time! It can be strange at first to not have a structured thing to do each evening. She’ll be back before you know it though! That salad looks pretty good, but agree on the chicken.. ehh. 🙂
Lisa @ Mrs. Fish says
My husband stayed at an extended stay hotel for the good part of five months for work this year and had the same general feeling about the food. He had an expense account and often went out for dinner, but I’m not sure that was a much better option either. He was so happy to quit and have dinner cooked at home every night!
Holly at HLD Fashion says
totally saw the same cut out at a shopper’s drug mart (here in canada!). unfortunately i didn’t get a picture with the biebs 🙁
Felicia @ Ellipticizing says
Good luck finding somewhere to stay where you can bring your pup! Not having a pet around is so lonely.
Kaelin says
I feel your pain! I left my doggie (running buddy, full time entertainment, dinner cleaner upper) at my parent’s house this weekend, too. We are going on vacation next week and she will be at the gparents house for 3 weeks!! She annoys me so much sometimes, but I can’t live without her incessant optimism and tail wagging. Sadie will be so happy to see you this weekend!!
Casey @ Pocket Full of Sunshine says
Enjoy your night with your hubby. 🙂 I’m a fan of the sports bra!
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
Aww I would miss my pupster too! Charlie was at my parents house one night before we went on vacation last week and at night we both looked at each other and declared how depressed we were without him there.
janet says
Poor Sadie misses her momma and dadda too I am sure!!!
Food looks pretty cafeteria-ish but it’s free … I bet even skinny little Sadie would gain weight on that stuff!!!
Give her a hug and head rub for us!!

Liz @ Something To Chew On says
I like the sports bra! But I’d probably have the same reaction a week or two later…good choice 🙂
Cait's Plate says
I think you made the right choice on the sports bra. I think it would’ve been one of those things that was super fun for a little bit but then you would’ve been like “why did I get this again?” down the road. Haha. I have many, many things like that in my closet that I wish I had never purchased 🙂
'Dee says
With all of my fur-babies through the years, I always feel like my right arm is missing when I’m away from them. Restless, incomplete, frequently thinking things like, “Does she think I’m not coming back?” Argh!
I hope you both find your new home soon!
PS, no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks would I EVER get the Blonde Bomber into an Ulta store. Kudos – you are a better woman than I 🙂
Mallory @ It's Only Life, After All says
Haha- that would’ve been my thought process exactly w/ the bra. Although, at one point in time I was obsessed with Stevie Nicks, so I probably would have bought it a couple years ago! Haha!
Abby @ Abz 'n' Oats says
Biebiacs…lol. I wish I could hang out with you two for a day! I feel like I would be laughing constantly! 🙂
Tessa @ Amazing Asset says
I’m pretty sure if we hung out all together, I would be laughing all of the time! You two seem hilarious 🙂 Great recipe you there too! I haven’t had something like that in years, ought to change that pronto
Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups says
I always feel like part of me is missing when I’m not around my puppy as well. Even though he has a great time at day care or being boarded if we’re gone for the weekend, it still breaks my heart. It seems like you’re doing a really good job still picking healthy choices at your hotel despite the lack of options.
Kim (Book Worm Runs) says
Aww, every time I go away I miss my doggy like crazy so I feel for you! At least you get to go see her tomorrow!! 🙂
And you guys are too cute and funny with the Justin Beiber! Lol! 🙂
Tara @ Chip Chip Hooray says
Have you heard “Beliebers”? That’s what my baby sister and her friends call themselves. 😉
Jordan P @ food, sweat, and beers says
Maybe, if you pick up some of that perfume that the Biebs makes, you’ll be able to attract all the Beliebers to the yard!
peanutbutterfingers says
bring your mowers!!!
Joelle (On A Pink Typewriter) says
Oh my gosh, $32 for something you sweat in?! I would have had to put it back too, despite how adorable that sports bra is!
ps I just started listening to Bieber and now I’m mildly obsessed.. I actually just wrote about it on my blog tonight haha and it made me think of you/your blog. I never thought I’d give in and like him, but the songs are just so darn catchy!
Sara says
I would be lost without my dog too….we left him with my parents for a week and the stress of being away from us caused him to get diahrrea the whole week he was with them! (sorry if tmi). My mom treats him like a human child and she felt so bad that he was sick haha
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Ok I have to say that that chicken cordon bleu looks really good — but to confess I usually really like cafeteria type food!
Julie H. of Spinach and Sprinkles says
Heart picture is very pretty! ….I *totally* would have bought that bra!!!!! I <3 the 80's stuff!!!
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
I can imagine that it would get really old eating that type of food every night. :/ You have my sympathy!!
Chelsa says
Awe I’d be lost w/o my pup too! I hope you figure the house situation soon. And I make my bf go to Ulta too.
Shari @ Chicago Cuisine Critique says
I love that sports bra! 🙂
J@http://semplicementej.blogspot.com/ says
I love your pictures of Sadie … I somehow can’t shoot great pictures of my Dante … always look forward to the posts where she is included.
peanutbutterfingers says
does your camera have an action mode? i always shoot sadie in the action mode b/c she’s constantly moving! it makes a HUGE difference!
J @ ... semplicemente j ... says
Thank you will try that … will keep you posted!
Caroline says
I don’t know much about Bieber, but his “Bieblebers” are INTENSE. JB covered a friend of mine’s song, in Japan nonetheless, and within hours he went from a few thousand followers on Twitter to over half a million and his song was in the iTunes Top 10 for its category. The power they have is crazy!!!
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
Biebs = love. I like the sports bra! neon colours are in for the summer right?! haha 32$ though…a bit pricy 🙂
chelsea says
That sports bra is so cute! Not too 80’s at all! But I agree I’d wait for something like that to go on sale lol. I’m so cheap when it comes to workout clothes…No, clothes in general I’m cheap lol 🙂
Bee Goes Bananas says
Wow, best sports bra ever!! How fun is that?!
Roz @ My ViSalus Journey says
oh boy, good decision on the sports bra…you know you are making me want a dog more than ever lol! I have the breed in mind that I would like, just finding the right one is driving me insane though!
In due time I’m sure. I hope you find a place soon so you can get your furbaby back.
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Haha I saw that same Bieber cut out at my local drugstore today! Does he have a perfume or something??
Shayla @ The Good Life says
That must be so hard…I would be missing my pup too if I were in your shoes! And I’m lovin that sports bra, you could so rock it 🙂
Leslie says
haha! that sports bra screams 80’s and I want it now. I LOVE IT!! Is it weird that it reminds me of something Kelly Kapowski would have worn with high-waisted jeans on SBTB?
peanutbutterfingers says
“i’m so excited! i’m so excited!” 😀
Lyndsi @ Lyndsi and David says
Aww! I’m sure Sadie misses you, too. We’d be lost without our Charlie. 😉
Jackie @ That Deep Breath says
Looking at the price tag always helps me decide whether the item is worth it! Usually, the answer is no…my closet would be so much happier if I had an unlimited amount of money!
Madelaine @ Healthy, Hot & Happy says
I’m sure Sadie is missing you guys as well! I’m sure your parents are taking great care of her though! And i’m with you on that sports bra – it’s bright and fun! You could totally rock it.
Gen says
Haha love that pic with Bieber, Ryan does a very good imatation of his pose!
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
I don’t like that bra at all! Good decision not to buy it 🙂
Khushboo says
The sports bra design would be great on pj bottoms!
Corey @ Learning Patience says
Love that heart hand pic! P.s. Your dog is the absolute cutest ever! Xoxo from an airport in NJ…. 🙂
Bee @ B*tchy Bee says
I love that bra! But seriously, why are sports bras, and all sports apparel in general, so expensive?? Lycra can’t be that costly to make…
I am in love with pretty much every piece of clothing lululemon has – but each and every price tag there makes me want to cry…lol. Or marry a doctor…either one.
Hope says
Aww…at least you get to see Sadie today! 🙂 That is raelly nice that you get a free buffet dinner. You must miss cooking though! Haha, love the picture of Ryan with Biebs! My fiance hates going into Ulta, and I hate going into Dick’s. So it’s a trade-off.
